It's awesome that people made these mods so themselves and others can still play these games for years to come. While adding some QOL stuff like the resolution changes for modern sized screens it's a simple thing to forget adjust but when you do it's noticeable.
oh yeah! MTS2 has daily uploads of new mods and cc for the sims 2, even porting items from sims 3 and 4 into 2

Btw, for those with this issue, if there's a black square under your sim just put shadow settings to medium and it's solved.

Didn't work for me at the 4gb patch. The folder don't have seperate folder for the pack in my case. and I couln't select the tsbin at all... Maybe I am just dumb as it seems to be working fine for everyone else. Thanks for the video it still helped understand a few things.
hi! im not sure if it's the same problem but i ran into something similar to you, but i hope i can help (if you still have this issue) for some reason, my SP9 folder (garden & mansion pack) was in the "Fun With Pets" folder along with another pack as well. but if you go into that one, it should have the SP9 folder in there, and the TSBin one in that one !

Thank you for this, it's really helpful. But what worked for me (at least at the beginning, let's see when I'm 4 hours straight playing the game) is using the d3d9.dll from x32 folder, the one inside the x64 didn't do anything... Everything about this game is a fucking mystery you know 😂

Ah okay that's not what I expected hahah. I tried x32/86 first cause that's what architecture was used when sims 2 released but x32 didnt work while x64 did. Maybe it's to do with ur OS? Are you on Win10 or something else?
@@WilliamMullaney Yes, windows 10 home, and I have a very decent PC. This game is so picky that for every person it's different.
@@BrokenDoll. Welcome to 32 bit applications, Flight Simulation enthuasists know this all too well.
Flight Sim X has basically been broken.
by opening the config log (in the Logs folder) you can check that it's only the 32bit that works for ts2 as ts2 is a 32bit application @@WilliamMullaney

I’m not sure if you play much of the sims 3 but a lot of simmers are having issues with getting it to run on the EA app (for me it’s a constant loop opening the launcher and then the EA app) I’ve heard some people on forums taking about the ‘alder lake patch’ but I can’t find any clear instructions on how to install this… just thought I’d let you know :)
ohh yeah so alder lake i believe is 12th gen intel (could be wrong im drunk af rn lmao) so there could be an issue to do with that, Im not certain as i don’t play sims 3 but have been recommended it a lot! so i outta try it and see if i can find problems withit to fix hahaha

I am still getting "The Application has crashed. The application will now terminate." I followed everything you did, even keeping in mind that my PC is x64 bit and with an NVIDIA processor. Help?! Do I have to reinstall all my Sims 2 games? I also have an external CD-ROM. :(

yeah people upgrading to 11, newer computer hardware, the difference between x86 and x64, it all leads to weird crap happening hhahaha

I downloaded the game as the Ultimate Collection but I don't have the folder where it says Sims 2 Ultimate Collection. I just have a folder that says the Sims 2. So, I have no other 'Game Packs" so I can't move the graphic content anywhere. I'm also unable to locate Sims2Ep9 unless I right click on the Sims 2 and I'm unable to locate the Sims 2 TSB Bin & TSB Data. I'm so puzzled.
The crazy thing is when the game is opened it'll say Garden and Mansion Pack. But I can't find any mention of that file anywhere.
Hey so I'll try to help you as best I can!
If you right click on The Sims 2 icon on your desktop and click "open file location" It *should take you to the TSBin folder of The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff.
From there, if you look in the address at the top of your file explorer, it should look something similar to this:
This PC>(C: or whatever drive you downloaded it to)>The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection>The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff>TSBin
If you click on "The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection" It should show you a list of folders with ALL the DLC you have downloaded.
If it doesnt show certain DLC then it's because either they werent downloaded or they failed to download for whatever reason

I only have the crash with one neighborhood and none of the fixes have worked for me. It will load the neighborhood but crash when i try to select any household. Anything else I can try or is this neighborhood just doomed?

It works!!! Now I have only one question- where to put my downloads folder with mods for it to work? This version somehow does not have 'normal' sims 2 file list and I am confused. Please help, I am losing my mind 😅
Go into Documents>EA Games> The Sims 2
There should be a folder called "Downloads", all your mods go in there
if there isnt a Downloads folder, create one, but make sure its named exactly: Downloads
