I have an e-bike with an 8,8 Ah battery (40 cells). I rid 3000 km on sport mode. About 1 month before the battery cut off, the power of the e-bike was reduced. The battery stopped working. I disabled it and measured the voltage, changed 20 A burned-out circuit-breaker. Then the battery was able to be charged again. It worked for half a cycle and then stopped. So I gave it to my friend, who works with electronics. He measured the battery cells and said, that it is only about 70 % of nominal capacity left. So BMS measured the battery's internal resistance and/or cell's capacity left. As the battery reached its wear-off, BMS simply just cut it off. Just for safety reasons. Because the older battery is more dangerous.
Hi there, my battery has gone faulty and Im not sure if it’s the cells or the BMS. Do you know why the led light is blinking blue but occasionally red? I managed too reset the BMS but the problem came back again. It charges then stops charging because the led light starts flashing blue and goes off charging mode then it starts flashing red and charging again. Also when I plug it in the percentage goes down and it’s not accurate. Thanks
Great job appreciate the knowledge in the video ,my question is do you know how to remove the black plastic from around the cells? Can I just heat them up with a heat gun?
Hi, what is the third connector coming from the battery. There is the charging connector and 42v connector but what is the purpose of the 3rd one? I'm trying to use this battery for an electric skateboard build and am wondering what I need to do with that one.
@@RoeeBloch can it be used standalone ? I guess just hook up an external 42v xiaomi charger to that little plug ? The comm port can just be left unused ? I’m using it for an e-bike second battery.
@@oneeyedrone4293 Have you managed to use the battery standalone? I saw a post that stated that battery out is turned off after a short delay when no communication between BMS and Main Controller. "Those BMS have a special firmware installed to prevent theft of the scooter. That is why it cuts out aprox at 30 seconds. You would need to flash non-rental firmware into the BMS."
Hello sir, I have g30 battery that I left sit. Followed your video, batteries are low at 3.1v. I tried resetting the bms and it just flashes red and then stops. Will not charge. Am I out of luck?
Was this battery genuine? I had the same one with the same cells (pink with only a barcode) and pll say they are fake. But since i bought the battery second hand i cant confirm if its OEM.
@@Wheelieking619 mine has grey cells but configured the same ,can u add a on off switch with the original bms ?ive seen u have one runnin on a separate setup wonderin if i could add a second battery to my ebike

Can you do a video on how to check if All the batteries are balanced and another video on how to wire the new board? Thanks

if all cells balanced and problem continue - this is usually a bad connection to BMS from balancing wires or faulty BMS circuit
