    Speed really does seem important in baseball. With all the running. And speed is probably one of the biggest reasons coaches were willing to give me another look after tryouts. Speed, consistent contacts, and determination. Cause that's all I had at the beginning.

    My 15 yr old son has attended 2 baseball showcases in the last year and has run the 60 in both showcases. His time last year was 6.8 which was the fastest time in the 5 year history of this particular showcase. This year he broke that record with a 6.7. He's never had any official "speed training drills", but he does incorporate many of these tips. Thanks for the great video...these tips really are vital to a fast 60.

      Thanks for watching, Tim! 6.7 is an awesome time. That's what I was usually around as well. Anything under 7 seconds is moving! I appreciate the support!

    Great video, once again. Could you do a video on digging/picking the ball out the dirt on a short one-hopper? One of my biggest weaknesses as a player.

    If you’re doing sprints, when you come back or return from the first sprint do you turn to the left or to the right? And to do the second sprint to start over when you return to the start, do you turn to the left of to the right? Sorry, I have OCD. Thanks if you can answer correctly.

    Is there a chance that you can help with a video on how to build a 9 yr olds confidence when they are bat.. I'm part of a travel team and most kids are new to kid pitch. A few just get so nervous when they are at bat..

    Do you think this will work for 300 yard shuttle?

  • @andrewmedina4984
    @andrewmedina4984 6 лет назад +2

    This is kinda irrelevant to the video. But do you recommend swinging with one hand or two hands up at the plate?

    • @levideweber6789
      @levideweber6789 6 лет назад +2

      Andrew Medina as long as you power through the ball and don't let go until youre put of the contact plane, it doesnt matter

    • @UltimateBaseballTraining
      @UltimateBaseballTraining  6 лет назад +4

      You should SWING with two hands. If you let one of your hands off while making contact, you won't have near as much power. After you make contact and drive through the ball, then it's okay to take one hand off if it's more comfortable/natural - but don't think about it. Should just happen and not be forced

    Justin great video, i have a question about the 60. Yesterday I was running some 30 yd dashes (home to first and half of the 60) and my friend timed me 5 times and my fastest was 3.6 seconds. Obviously if i maintain or even get more top speed from 30 yds on I should have a fast 60 time. What should I do to gain more speed? Have a predraft in 16 days and my biggest goal is to impress scouts with the 60 and be the fastest guy there

    • @UltimateBaseballTraining
      @UltimateBaseballTraining  6 лет назад +3

      Great question man. I love doing sprints with resistance, so either with a parachute or a band of some sorts with a friend applying the resistance. I also love hill sprints and pushing a weighted sled. Explosive plyometric exercises will really help too. Don't forget about that hip flexor stretch I showed before you run! Game changer. Good luck!!

    • @SolitarySoldier
      @SolitarySoldier 6 лет назад +1

      Ultimate Baseball Training Nearly everything you mentioned i do! I run parachute hill sprints 3x a week every other day and immediately after the parachute sprinting i have a friend hold a band around me to pull him for added resistance and I do jump rope for foot speed and conditioning/ endurance. And no doubt Ill keep working man thank you!!
