OMG, I watched this and about a day after I went to the box in a game, I relaxed, was aggressive, and separated and I hit a home run the third pitch! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO, IT WAS SOOOO HELPFUL FOR ME AND THANKS AGAIN!
Hi, Justin I'm Spanish online hitting coach to, I love we have almost the same way to help new players. the only thing that differs a bit is the separation, I do believe that you have to put your hands back a little to create more power. but you do a good job.
You are one of the best instructors i"ve ever seen on breaking things down to a point that just about anyone could understand the lesson. Thank you for the great lessons.
We just started our baseball season here, and I still love your videos. I have been watching and commenting on your videos. I get better and better because of you. #1 fan right here!!!!!!
You're a solid instructor, man. I'm playing old man ball these days and I can always pick up a couple tips from you here that make me better. The other day in the cage I wasn't doing too hot, and then I thought about the tip you shared of pointing the knob of the bat towards the catcher as I load, and I started hitting cage bombs.
Coach, when you started making videos I was in high school. I didn’t know a thing about baseball. My friend wanted me to tryout for the team as 2nd base. So I started watching you and I made the team. Then I really got addicted to baseball. I played College Baseball for the Miami Hurricanes and went on to be 2nd base for the Texas Rangers.
@Ryder Calhoun im 15 years old now and a freshman that was last year when I made the comment, we have our first high school game on Friday so good stuff
@@Daniel-sq1fd damn this comment was from a long time ago🤣 i was hurt for most of my junior year this year, was talking to a few coaches though, nothing huge. just noticed i said the fields i played on was 275… they must have been 225 idk why i made that up🤣🤣
Thanks Coach Justin! I'm a 13 yr old, heavy set, 5' 8'', first-baseman and your videos have helped me lots. Conditioning for my 1st season of F-League starts tomorrow and I cant wait to show off what I learned from you. Keep up the great vids!!! :)
I have a gold medal game tonight so im studying batting stances and i have the set mentality that im going to get a home run. thanks so much for taking your time and helping me with my batting stance it really help.
This is priceless thanks! I'm curious, what would you suggest to do vs guys that throw 30 MPH junk where it takes a week it feels like for the ball to get on me? Do you have any advice as to how to approach this kind of pitcher, it seems I twist out of my shoes at em and hit dribblers, even though I know, a friend told me to try and take it the other way and still pull it, but that is very hard to do, any advice?
This kid is a great instructor. He teaches the basics very clearly. Great communication skills. It is obvious that he played a little ball at a high (college) level. Can anybody tell me what he is doing these days as it relates to baseball. Reason I ask is there are so many phonies on the internet trying to teach hitting. This kid is legit and has a future as A coach if that is the direction he wants to go.
Great tips I used these after a discouraging 1-4 performance at my previous softball game. Next game I hit two home runs and went 100% for the night. I’m sure the poster didn’t have softball in mind but it works!
Great tips here Coach Justin! I’ve been able to hit it far but still am not able to knock it out, I’ll test these out next practice with the guys and see how it goes.
Thx for all these vids they help a lot on Tuesday I have my first ever baseball game I’m a really good ball player and when I practice I hit like 2 homeruns every practice do you think I’ll hit a home run for my first at bat
You’re welcome! Just focus on hitting the ball hard and home runs will come. You might not hit one your very first at-bat, but I promise if you focus on consistently squaring the ball up and hitting it hard - they’ll come!
Thank you so much i watch all of your how to hit videos and i truly have gotten better i went from having a .250 batting avrage to having a .429 batting avrage now thank you so much
Than you I'm Korean I don't understand talk you but THis is video is great 한국에서는 알려주지 않는 여러가지를 알려주셔서 많은 도움이 되었습니다 :) It was very helpful for you to tell me many things that you don't know in Korea
I really like how you explained the difference between the consistent and inconsistent BP pitchers. This is basically the difference of me pitching BP to my LL team and them hitting in games. Hopefully I can pass on this example and improve the in game mentality of my team. Another reason not to spin the bat is that you don't want that habit with a wood bat since you don't want to hit "off grain".
Did the rubber band example make sense? Separation just means separation from your lower and upper body. As your lower body begins to rotate, your upper body is still coiled back and building up energy to explode on the ball!
A good training technique for upper and lower body separation is: 1. Have someone stand behind you holding a pole that's about 6 to 7 feet. You can get one cheap from Home Depot. I suggest that length because you can use it for tall or short people because where they grab the pole is going to vary. 2. The hitter then holds the pole like he's holding his or her bat. 3. The hitter then strides out but still holds onto the pole. This will cause you to get unbelievable upper and lower body separation.
@@EddieC_Bane To get him to stride and release his back foot so he can transfer all of his weight to his front side...Put a brick in front of his front foot and a brick on the inside of his back foot. Have him just doing that in a swinging motion without a bat, because he's going to be looking down to steide over the bricks. Have him do hundreds of these until it's second nature to him and he can do it without even thinking about it. Then have him doing it with a bat. Now he's not "squishing the bug", and he's transferring all of his weight to the front side like the Pros..👍
I'd recommend using a wood bat in practice most of the time, but be sure you're comfortable with your real bat too. A wood bat will make you a better hitter though due to the smaller sweet spot.
I’ve been playing softball for three seasons and I’m really hoping this could help me so I could get better and get to a higher grade/majors/juniors these seem like they can work
I have a question, does it matter how high or how low your back elbow is when your batting ? My friend told me if I keep my elbow up you chop the ball more.
Your tip #3 is perfect! Don't get me wrong the others are good too but #3 is very important because so many so called "experts" get it wrong. I started playing softball again after 25 years and had to relearn things. Tip #3 is something I struggled with because as I loaded up to swing I would pull my arms back and it took power away and caused too many miss hits. After analyzing what I was doing (and everybody has advice which you need to ignore) I lowered my hands to just above my hips (maybe not good in fast pitch hardball but effective for me in slow pitch softball) and then did what you advise in tip #3. Wow! What a difference. I was hitting ropes. What tip #3 does is stabilize your position while allowing a more level swing so I'm not grounding it or popping it up nearly as often. It works!
Hey, Justin in practice I hit perfect but in games I hit a hard ground ball then I strike out so what should I do please go back and check this and good tips keep up the good work!
That's the game of baseball man! Keep your head up and go get em the next game. Hitting BP fastballs is easy... but with a real pitcher hitting becomes much more difficult.
Hi Justin. My coaches are telling me to buy a tee, but I’m not sure which one to get. Would you recommend the Tanner Tee that I see in your videos, or the generic McGregor Tee?
You said not to have that much movement in my batting stance My stance is Ken Griffey Junior should I keep it or change it and I do really good with that
another thing to keep in mind is hip movement. when you have a little twist in your hip, it'll have the same effect Coach Justin was talking about like the rubber band.
Thanks man! I really enjoyed it! It helped me out a bit. The stupid thing is is that my coach didn't play me when i almost hit the back fence twice when nobody else did lol

I’d recommend a Tanner Tee. The generic tees look great because of the low price, but they fall apart and you’ll need a new one before long.
