I remember running the game at 1920x1080 60FPS with a mix of medium and low settings on an i5 3470 and GTX 660 Ti. Basically a budget gaming PC from 2012. This game is very easy to run. Compare this to Batman Arkham Knight of that same year...
Arkham Knight also runs pretty well on the Deck and can achieve a locked 30 FPS, however you MUST install it on the SSD, it stutters like hell on Micro SDs.
This is my most played game on deck, it runs amazing. Sometimes the cpu starts cycling all the way but limiting the cpu clock to about 2600mhz brings power draw back down. Love your videos Santiago, thank you
I can't believe we have this game running as well as it does on a portable. i still remember playing peace walker back on PSP and thinking that was insane already
Yep. You can actually get a (near) locked 90fps by making a minor modification to the ini file. I do not remember off the top of my head how to do it, but it is pretty simple and even at 90fps, you still get over 4 hours of battery life. I played this game mostly on Deck between late last year and this year. Incredible game and perfect for the Deck.
@@conormcloud3473in the properties section force resolution to run in xx..I use the option for both docked and handheld…my settings are 900p with all high except 2 settings are medium or default..and I had to adjust a file for the frame pacing when running for the scaling, but it works great and overall it looks better than the phantom pain on ps4 docked and everything the steam deck still has increased draw distance, and texture/filtering…and the effects are overall higher, yes the ps4 is 1080p, but at Xbox one resolution with further increased settings and at 60fps. I’ve had this installed since my launch 64gb lcd model(with card of course) , then transferred to my 1gb OLED. And it can easily run 900P and all high except 2 settings at default or medium, and it still looks better than the ps4 version docked…I had to adjust a file setting for the framerate/vsync/ scaling instead of relying on 60 or 30 straight up u adjust to read “uncapped or unlocked” to get rid of the hitching if using those settings, and when transferring the game, it does not need adjusting as well(thank god).
I ended up buying the ROG Ally to replace my SD LCD. The SD OLED is slightly more expensive compared to the ROG Ally. I guess power outlet will be my best friends now.
MGSV is insane on whatever platform you play it. I remember playing the game on an integrated HD graphics, quad-core i3 on my old Acer Aspire laptop back in 2016 and the game runs pretty much stable 30 most of the time with little to no stuttering, low to medium settings, custom 960x540 resolution, V-sync off for reduced input-lag, and a buncha .mp3s copied into the custom music folder to listen to my own jams while brutally incapacitating soldiers around Africa and Afghanistan. Whatever Kojimbo and his team did behind the scenes with this game is pure black magic. The game is just THAT insanely optimized, despite being an unifinished product, unfortunately. _(eff konami)_
Maybe links aren't allowed. You can get 90fps on the OLED by unlocking the framerate. Navigate to the Configuration file folder: \userdata\\287700\local\ Open TPP_GRAPHICS_CONFIG in the text editor of your choosing. Change the line "framerate_control" : "Auto", to "framerate_control" : "Variable", and save the file. Note If you make any changes to the graphics options in-game, this preference will be reset.
He literally talked about that, thing is its almost impossible to get over 70fps in this game i have a 5600X OCd to 4.8ghz and will not go over 70fps at all, game has some funky programming
I recommend you watch or play Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, before MGSV, it is a kind of prologue (It is included in the "definitive experience" edition of MGSV), it lasts about an hour the first time you play it. Be careful with spoilers, it is easy to find them online as they are somewhat old games.
@@FX-Z5Black I have almost pulled the trigger on the definitive edition a few times, I probably will eventually. I've got too many backlog games atm though. Maybe I'll pick it up on the fall or winter sale
@@jondr Good idea. Unrelated to this topic but has anyone ever had the problem with their Deck OLED where the left stick has a gritty feel to it when it is pushed forward? Feels like its kind of grinding on something? Anyone know any easy fixes for this?
I ran into this with the LCD Deck and Ally, seems to just be the plastic grinding against another, this video reminded me of it: ruclips.net/video/BJcfBlAiOB0/видео.html , considering that we usually push on that stick the most it kinda makes sense, but it's sad :(
Yeah it is super annoying lol after playing mgsv where you push the stick up slowly while sneaking it made the feeling of the stick so much more noticeable lol

I’d call MGSV TPP the most *optimized* AAA PC release of 2015 and every year to today. Can just tell.
Wow I can't believe a youtuber just said I've played Peace Walker, Kudos man! Truly a gamer and that game is a masterpiece!

You can upscale the resolution over 800p to get rid of the aliasing.
How do you do that?

One on my hit list to complete on the deck. Good video!
