Cabview Vlissingen - Roosendaal (VIRM) in 4K

- This time I'll take you through Zealand; from the South-West coast (Vlissingen) to Roosendaal.
One of the oldest Dutch lines. The line was completed in 1873. And I think it's one of the most typical Dutch lines still existing; travelling through flat landscapes, the many trees, birds, bunnies, level crossings, children waving to the train driver, old station buildings and some small barrages on the line. (Zealand is below water level)
This Intercity service starts in Vlissingen and travels to Amsterdam Central Station via Harlem. Although it stops at every station between Vlissingen and Roosendaal.
Did you know that the longest bend of the Netherlands is on this line?

Hello Meester. It is not often that we see the Zeeuwse Lijn on the cab view videos so thanks for bringing it to us. Was that the longest gap in the overhead line on the NS at 10:45? And was that a VIRM you were driving? Best wishes to you.
You're welcome! Could be, there's another big gap on the line between Alphen aan den Rijn and Bodegraven. I'm not sure which of the 2 is longer, but they both will be quite close to each other :) Yes, I was driving the 8638, which is a 6 car VIRM EMU. They're the most common type of train on that line. There's also a regulator 4 car VIRM to be found on that line. A DDZ 4 or 6 car unit does happen, but is quite rare. :)

Hoi meester machinist ik ken je nog wel toen je me liet schrikken in de Sgmm maar ik heb wat vragen ! Welk niveau heb je nodig om mcn te worden ?,mag je op alle Ns locaties rijden of bepaalde ritten die op het station komen waar jij voor hebt gekozen?
Hoi Joel! Je hebt minstens een VMBO diploma nodig om machinist te kunnen worden. De trajecten waar je komt zijn per standplaats verschillend en dan vaak ook nog per rooster.
Vanuit mijn standplaats komen we bijvoorbeeld helemaal in Heerlen, Groningen, Den Helder, Zwolle - Deventer - Arnhem, Vlissingen en Venlo. Maar Enkhuizen, Zandvoort, Leeuwarden en Maastricht komen we niet planmatig.
Wel kan het zo zijn dat er bij een verstoring gevraagd wordt naar 1 van deze plaatsen te rijden, maar dat kan alleen als je wegbekendheid hebt op het traject er naartoe (de kans dat je dat hebt is redelijk klein, want je komt er normaal gesproken niet).
Vervolgens kan het ook nog per rooster verschillen. Het ene rooster komt misschien wel in Den Helder maar niet in Groningen en het andere rooster heeft dat precies weer andersom.
Zelf heb ik gekozen voor het reserve-rooster, dan heb je alle wegbekendheid van jouw standplaats nodig en dus heb je dan ook de meeste variatie. :)
Wegbekendheid is 12 maanden geldig nadat je er voor het laatst geweest bent. Daarna vervalt het ;-)
mooie rit,super hoor,op station Bergen op Zoom licht er rechts een hagelnieuw spoor weg te roesten,bovenleiding groen,zou wel een een keertje roest gereden kunnen worden?het zal wel een goederen wachtspoor zijn.
Bedankt! Klopt! Ik heb geen idee waarom dat spoortje niet of nauwelijks gebruikt wordt. Ik ben ooit wel eens met een lege trein over het andere buitenspoortje van Bergen op Zoom geweest. Maar van goederentreinen heb je nauwelijks last op de Zeeuwse lijn, omdat je met de Intercity overal moet stoppen lopen de goederentreinen alsnog op je uit.

Nadat jij weg was, haha! Rond 19.25 kwam ik aan in Roosendaal.
