Tomas G. Masaryk, first czech president came with the idea of connecting Western Slavs (Czechs, Slovaks and Poles) with Southern Slavs (Croatia, Slovenia ...) by so called Slavic passage. On the border of Austria and Hungary there were living about 60% slavic people. Attempt was to french diplomats, but was not approved. Hungary on the map is still blocking this connection and should be slavicised.

The Slavs realized that they spoke the same language as the Italians, hence the name reflecting the link. Since than they've been completly slavicized in both language and culture, like the Bulgarians. The Hungarians are only geneticaly slavs but have maintained their language. PS. up until roughly thousand years ago, two leaders were always elected for Rus people. One to serve during peaceful times the other during war. The leader was to serve out his life time and new one was to be selected upon their wisdom and light. Those were the old days.... thousands of years of practice. What do you honestly think ancient Slavs invited Viking leaders to organize them. At that time state of Sweden did not exist and viking did not have evolved form of civil society.
