Mine passed away at 15 (two months shy of his 16th birthday) and he was literally the BEST dog anyone could ever want. Extremely gentle, sweet, playful, affectionate, LOYAL, forgiving-the whole package. He never bit anybody and he was friendly towards other dogs and was great with children. If you're thinking about getting one of these dogs, please do. They're literally the full package-absolutely adorable too.
I'm sorry for your loss. Mine passed away last year, too. It was the most heartbreak I have ever experienced. He was so smart, gentle with my little ones, and never chewed or went to the bathroom in the house. It's been a little over a year since I lost him, and I still can't bring myself to get anothet dog. I still cry over him, and I'm not even a cryer. Bless these little devils ❤
I got my Ladybug from a vet rescue. No one knew anything about her past, where she came from, what kind of home life she had, nothing. She was so shy she wouldn’t even look at me. Originally my sister adopted her and later she decided that she wanted me so we made the transition. She has been an absolute joy in our home. Because we knew nothing about her, we thought perhaps she was a mixed breed of maybe Chihuahua and Pomeranian because we already have a pomchi. I accidentally came across your website and was thrilled to discover that she is an American Eskimo dog. I watched your video and it described her perfectly. So happy I found out a little bit about her. We really don’t know her age we assume around 5 to 7 years old and originally she was afraid of men especially but has warmed up to my husband overtime. Thank you for your enjoyable video and your wonderful information. Jewel from Florida.
I lost my Eskie when i was 16 and ive never gotten over it (im 38 now). He was clever, a little snuggle bug, and just a little ball of joy. When my boys are old enough, we will definitely have an Eskie as a family dog. Theyre beautiful little souls.
I love this breed. I had one who lived to 13 years old after developing congestive heart failure. They are a dog with a positive attitude. I miss mine a lot.
My dog was only half Eskie. She was extremely loving, gentle, sweet and smart as a whip. She would decide what she felt like doing, yet was the easiest dog to have around. I tried to crate train her and she made it clear she wasn't having any of it. It was a grueling weekend before I finally gave up. She never needed it though. When housebreaking, all I did was tell her not to pee in the house as if I were talking to a person. She never did. She understood when we were in public places and behaved accordingly. She helped me housebreak my younger dog. Seriously the smartest and best dog. I miss her so much!
We recently rescued a Eskie/Cattle Dog mix that came from a hoarding situation and she's been such a fun girl so far! Can't wait to learn more about this breed.
I have a miniature American Eskimo. She was allowed in the baseball hall of fame. Greatest living, carbon based, organism I know. My Maine coon cat would create the illusion of caressing clouds, when touching her fur. My American Eskimo's ears are softer than clouds.
My first Eskie escaped from the vet and found her way back to our house. This was before cell phones. So as I returned from school, there she was hanging around yard. When we got inside there were frantic phone messages from the veterinarian office and my mother. Called them both and told them all is well. I miss my puppy.
My American Eskimo ran away from me, Duran a blizzard, when she was only 5 months old peri was literally shaken and thinking the most. Negative thoughts. When I finally decided to head back home, my 5 month year old miniature American Eskimo. Was sitting by the side door
My mom love our American Eskimo dog. He was 8 months old when he came into our lives. he had a sister that was the same age. We loved him from 1982. till 1992 ,he was my big ball of handsome fur. that love to play soccer with me. I have a picture of him and his beautiful mommie when my mom bought .he's in heaven with her and eating his favorite treats. Milk bone dog biscuits. She gave him a crazy name Ding. ding. I wounded to name him snow ball.
I grew up with an American Eskimo. My brother got to name her, he was about 3 years old at the time. He seemed to have the same idea as you and ended up naming her Snowball haha
Best dogs ever. We had 4 the 1st 2 have left us after a wonderful life. We still miss them but we have 2 more who are delightful. Sweet, loving, demand attention and love. They are super.
American Eskimos: 942 parts amazing, 60 parts yap yap yap yap yap, 60 parts stubborn beastie. Best pet I ever made the decision to make part of my family ever.

They don't even credit the owners of the content in the description. I emailed them about it, but they ignored me.
Hi Abbie, the channel has changed owner recently. I apologised if your video clips were not accredited back to you. Please reach out to us again and give me the list of videos where your clips are shown. We could remove the clips or give you credits in the description. We do receive a lot of email, so I'll be particularly looking for yours in the next couple of days. Again, I'm sorry for that.
I wish I could send you a picture of him . and his momma, he was about 8 months old when my mom bought him home. he didn't take no mess from any body when someone came to visit our house, a very good guard dog. but the one thing I miss doing was and he loved it was bath time, and getting him clean and handsome. but he loved sleeping with me from time to time.and one night in 2002, when I was sleeping in bed, his spirit came to visit me. ❤.
On August 9th I lost my Eskie. She was in her 15th year. I miss her terribly. She was affectionate, devoted and tremendously understanding. Highly intelligent and quick to please. We had 14 wonderful years together. I got her when she was 4 months old. She was a rescue. I would recommend an Eskie to anybody. but this should not be your first time dog ownership. They are highly clever and can figure out how they can get over on you quickly. You have to be pack leader, not the other way around.
Our Eskimo also passed away last August! On the 5th. His name was Scout and he was the best dog ever. He was just a few months away from turning 15. About a week later, we rescued 2 Eskimos(Brother & Sister) They helped the healing process very much! Eskimos are the best dogs!
I have a minture version he is so smart and very adventurous he is absolutely adorable and such a show off thanks for all these facts so I can learn more about my dog:)
Eskie's are a quirky breed, since I have had two and they were both aggressive. Very much a one dog type of mentality. Love em. Beyond beautiful to look at!
Hello 😮there! We just rescued an eski. He is 7. He is nipping at us occasionally. Was your eskies aggressive like this? I know..he is still unfamiliar with us, home. Thx!😂
Oh my goodness my mom bought home a beautiful male American Eskimo puppy. he was eight months old. he also had a sister she bought him from a friend. it was love the first time I saw him, his favorite thing to do was playing soccer. we had a big yard and was a great keeping our house safe from strangers. we had him for eleven years. I also have a Beautiful picture of him and mom with the woman my mom bought him from. he's gone to a wonderful place and I will be playing with him when my time comes. ❤
This dog. Will. Bark. It was bred to bark at anyone or anything it doesn't recognize. It'll also bark for attention, because it's bored, or just because. Don't adopt one if that's a problem, you'll just end up having to re-home it. On the other hand, if you don't mind the barking so much, you will never be happier with a dog in your life. I absolutely love mine, and it's obvious the feeling is mutual. I've never had a dog pay so much attention, be this engaged, or be this affectionate.
Yes, this channel is just someone making money from other people's content. They don't actually know much about these dogs. Most of the footage in this video was ripped from my channel without permission. 27 clips.
I'm going to have to go with the old dog book that I used to have if you're getting one of these it might not be best as you're very first dog unless you're willing to train it. The good news is that they're extremely trainable.the bad news is they're not a Golden retriever and they command that you follow kind of like a dog's rules rather than a human's.
“It will not develope aggressive traits” Mine is extremely aggressive with a large personality. She only likes the male of the household, her alpha and still tries to challenge him sometimes. Example, my ex tried to pet Buttons as I told her she does not know you, she will bite you. My ex bent down to pet Buttons and she did exactly what I taught her-she bit my ex, and me, all I said was Buttons. She came to my side and got a good ear scratch and a good gurl.out of me. We had got a Jack Russell Terrier, a female as well for her playmate. Those two were inseparable. Both playing inside during the winter, but Buttons would let the Jack know when she was too rough by smacking her paw on the Jack. Both have sense passed on, Buttons in 2004, the Jack named Sassy in 2009. Both lived their lives really well with myself and my grandparents, and the love the eskie deserved.

The eski coat is low in oils so it generates much less dog odor than most other breeds

Can you feed an American Eskie raw food?
Certain raw plant foods are fine. Raw meat, no. The parasite risk is high, not to mention the animal cruelty involved.
I have one.❤
Prohibitively expensive? You can get an Eskie puppy starting at $500 to $1200. Not sure where the commentator is looking but most people do not want to buy show quality dogs. Things you do need to know:
1. Constantly want to play, wrestle etc.
2. It is a watch dog. It will bark at any person it can see regardless of distance when at home.
3. Hesitant with new people and other dogs but never aggressive in my experience.
4. High prey drive. Ours caught a mouse and hates the squirrels and deer in our yard.
5. Highly trainable. If you can think it and have the patience this dog can do it.
6. Not all Eskies are fluff balls. Some only have a fluffy mane, tail and haunches.
7. They will follow you everywhere in the house, . . . .everywhere. Bathroom included.
8. Not as vocal as a Husky but they will talk with you when they want something.

Totally agree. He is a good watch dog. Bark at any strangers. Maybe that's why it is not expensive.

Both have sense passed on, Buttons in 2004, the Jack named Sassy in 2009. Both lived their lives really well with myself and my grandparents, and the love the eskie deserved.
