Your prep-work is what made it turn out so great! I'm going to have to dye my '85's panels tan again as the original plastic is faded and discolored from age.
@@TonyTheTechnician Well, It sure looks nice. I will do the same eventually. Working on my rear wheel-wells at the moment. Getting off nasty undercoating.
I reupholstered the interior of my 89 IROC back in the summer of 09 with black carpet and black vinyl seat skins. The seats front and rear were out of an 02 Firebird Formula that I opted to delete the headrests from (not safe but looks great). After 10 years though the seats and carpet were fading (the reupholstering kit came from Hawks) which is to be expected. So I removed the seats cleaned them with purple power and sprayed them with duplicolor vinyl and fabric, and this stuff is like friggen magic, I sprayed the carpets, door cards and I’m in the process of doing my headliner. I’d recommend this product to anyone who wants their interior to look like new again.
Cool project man. Working on a Z28 myself. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's a sports coupe right? Did you put those ground effects on or the previous owner?
Dude your third gen is so sweet btw. You should look into rebuilding a steering column just so there is a detailed video in existence of a fully rebuilt steering column.
Thank you I used alot of plastic grey primer. I believe Rust-Oleum and then used a vinyl and fabric black pain. And I also used a paint adhesive spray after the primer and before the paint. If I remember correctly
Great Job!!!! I don't know if it's too late or not, but my suggestion is to keep you manual transmission. Just upgrade it later on down the road with a better manual transmission.
Hey Tony, just curious as to how high you built the shelf setup behind the front seats for the amplifier and 6.5s, I would like to build the same, and how did you secure it in place?
It's about 12 inches high. I made it just tall enough so the top platform also rests on top of the plastic arm rests on each side of the car. It's secured by 2 pieces of 2x4 bolted to the old seat bracket mounts on the back wall and they come forward and the front piece of wood is screwed into those 2x4s. Hopefully that makes sense.
@@TonyTheTechnician Gotcha, thanks Tony, yeah once I get the backseats out Ill see the picture clearer, I watched the video you have on the stereo set up too but I cant seem to find it now
Hey there Tony... my Camargo suddenly has no Guage lights, interior lights or radio...any ideas? Checked fuses. Cig lighter area OK. New light switch...but no lights now. Exteriors work fine. Anyway if u have thoughts let me know:) cheers! Your car is coming fine!

How'd the 700r4 work for you? I have a similar setup and the "sun shell" blew up one day. Had to pull the tranny and rebuild it. You're def right about the T5, its a paper weight...
Just an FYI: If you get the A Pillar 3-gauges mount, there's no way in hell it's going to fit well with your dash pad being there. The pillar gauge mount is already a very tight fit and actually dents in a small section of the dash. With the increased thickness due to your dash pas cover, it won't fit correctly, if at all.
Great video, i have a 1985 camaro, I basically want to restore the whole interior just you have done, where were your seats purchased and did they fit your bracket or did you have to purchase another in oder for them to fit?
I'm excited to put some gauge clusters in my firebird. Its clean like yours but original because i gor lucky. My uncle (the only owner) did that favor when i bought it
What’s the name and brand of that paint you used to do your interior pieces ? And how much time would you say you spent on Sanding each piece ? You said you wet sanded it how do you go about doing that?
I want to say it was either Rust-Oleum or dupli-color. I got it at AutoZone I believe and I did a wet sand with water on a very fine grit sand paper and smoothed the surface and removed about 80% of the old paint that was on the panels which took most of the day. Then I did a coat of paint adhesive spray and then 2-4 coats of vinyl and fabric paint
Thanks I got mine off eBay. Of you just search 82-92 Camaro or firebird they will all show up. Some come with the slide brackets and everything and some com separate but you will see them all

Okay so stupid question. I used to have a 92 camaro and I've always hated what I called the hump. Right behind the rear seat. Is there any way that someone could reasonably modify it to make more space back in the hatch for storage?
Yes the dash caps are a great affordable replacement that looks just like the original. A new dash can be pretty expensive where these caps run like 100

Sorry that's a broad question bc alot of things take factor. The year and model bc some are metric and some are sae do to the years falling between when they we're switching. Also whether you have disc brakes or drum brakes. You might be best using a caliper to measure or checking out hawks Motorsports and finding the rear end lines that match your setup. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
@@TonyTheTechnician sorry was at work when i was replying. It's an 89 Firebird Formula 305 TBI. Front disc rear drum. I can't seem to find it in literature anywhere. Hawks doesn't list the size of the line. I think it's a 5/16" but could be a 6mm from otherthings that I have read. I'm thinking that the flare is an ISO Bubble flare. But again I am not finding anything in concrete. But thanks for replying I really do appreciate your time.

Front left brake locked up so, New caliper & brake line & flushed the whole brake system, new seat covers, neons, cold air intake, New spark plugs & coil pack, constantly cleaning the aic valve, new rear door latch, I broke the power mirror switch & replaced it, found a nicer dash cluster w/rpm guage,(so now I can buy the indiglow dash kit from ebay!) two new o2 sensors & exhaust work & I just fixed both of my rocker panels, fiberglass, putty, prime, pain & clear. THAT IS JUST SOME OF THE WORK I HAVE DONE! The second my parts come in,2morrow or next day, I am installing a new water pump & timing belt & tentioner & etc. THE POINT IS, IF I WOULD OF KNOWN ALL THE PROBLEMS THIS CAR WOULD HAVE, I WOULD OF BOUGHT A CAR THAT I AM INTERESTED IN, I WOULD OF BOUGHT A 3RD GEN CAMARO!!! THAT WILL BE MY NEXT BIG PURCHACE IN THE FUTURE! HOPEFULLY A CLEAN ONE? I have put way to much into this car & I wish it was a car I desire!!!
Hey man where did you buy that panel @ 2:30 where the air intake filter use tongkt thanks
Alex Garcis I think it was on hawks motor sports. If I remember correctly. And was around 60 dollars

@@TonyTheTechnician
Where did you purchase it?
@@splash5974 I think eBay or Amazon. This was awhile ago. But in my newer videos of you click on the description and click car parts it might be on the list
do you happen to have any links to the mods you installed?
Yes if you check out any of my new videos in the description is a link to Camaro parts 👍
about how much did it cost for all the interior parts?
TheDiamondKid 589 maybe about 1000 on the interior. for all the carpet, insulation, new seats, gauges, paint, and dash cap.
What kind of engine are you building for it?
Adam Coleman you can watch some of my previous videos if you would like but its a 350 bored .040 over so a sbc 357 ported sr torquer heads, full roller scorpion rockers, edelbrock performance rpm air gap intake, holley 750 carb, 100 shot of nitrous, and a few things here and there lol
How Long Did Your Interior Job Take
Kai Lofton once it had all of the items to do it. It didn’t take long. Maybe a day for all new insulation and another day for carpet and the custom back seat box. A day for the gauges. A couple days to sand and paint all interior pieces. And a day for the seats. But I did it all over a couple months just a couple things at a time
@@TonyTheTechnician Oh Okay Yeah I Was Think Of Just Doing The Interior All At Once
Where did you get them side markers?
eBay I believe. I just searched Camaro smoked side markers

Kyler Freitas thank you!

Rryan Long look up 3rd gen camaro door top rails. I believe you can get them on a site called Rick's camaros. they run around 150 though. I was lucky enough when I bought the car the previous owner had just bought them and had them in the trunk
TonyTheTechnician and where did you get the cover dash at and thanks man
Rryan Long if i remember correctly i got it from ebay but many different company's make is and price ranges from 115 to like 160. I believe mine actually came from 1aauto if i remember correctly. thanks for watching
who makes those seats.
Larry Cannizzaro these are from eBay. Just search 82 92 Camaro racing seats
TonyTheTechnician thanks for the information. Did the tracks come with the seats?
Larry Cannizzaro yes. You may have to search trans am brackets. They are the same and you can get them with the seats
im working on the interior of my 90 camaro i hope mine can look this nice i need ALOT haha im plannin on makin door panels with rhino board and i gotta buy a dash cap cause when i got the car it didnt have one
CoryCDS ya im sure yours will come out great as well. just take your time and try not to cut corners. mine looked like crap when I first got it as well. good luck and have fun
do you have links to the seats?
Looks great. I'm currently working on my 89 Firebird I really need some tips!
Thank you. How can I help
@@TonyTheTechnician do you know what size diameter the brake lines are yo the back and what flare the ends are?
@@TonyTheTechnician Also, what grit did you use to wetsand your interior pieces.?
yeas i have a 2004r from California transmission from art carr and it holds up to 1000hp and i paid 2, 200 with converter
greg howard Oh wow very nice!
also you don't have a big rpm drop in second gear
what year ur camaro panels r diffrent from mine
gabino tinajero 85. what panels are you talking about?
the rear wheel well plastic mine have carpet glued on and look diffrent but mine a 89 hope to see it running soon
gabino tinajero Oh ya my previous camaro was like that as well. thanks hopefully it won't be to long
Can i buy your 5 speed console panel? Mine is old and worn
Kaleb Whitmer sorry I'll still be trying to use it as well. But I did find some on eBay for around $25

TonyTheTechnician ok thank will do
TonyTheTechnician um dumb question do I have to be on a desktop to do that task lol
Pinkamena Diane Pie yes actually I believe you do.
U mind replying with the link of these seats . I’d like to purchase these
You will have to find the seat brackets on eBay most likely. Just search 82-92 Camaro racing seats.
amzn.to/2r7geex
Where are you located can you hook up my 94 camaro ?
Dude did you make those door cards?
No they were the original I believe. I just rewrapped them
Are your door panels new? And if so where n how much??
SLIMM CUTTY the door panels are new but I wrapped them myself. I just bought the spray adhesive and the fabric
TonyTheTechnician Where did u get them frm?
SLIMM CUTTY I'm sorry I should have stated that differently. the wooden panel is the original just rewrapped in new fabric.
TonyTheTechnician Ohhhhhh. I need new ones cuz the part where the bolt onto the door are ripped
SLIMM CUTTY oh damn. I would try the junk yards first then eBay.
How much did the carpet cost
Cory Wagner if I remember correctly it was like 250 to 300. Like 100 for the back and 150 for the front
TonyTheTechnician thanks ain’t nothing better than nice fresh clean interior nice car man
Cory Wagner ya that’s for sure. Thank you
That camaro looks like is gonna be powerfull, or it's already
Fabian Medina it should be fun. Still rebuilding. I’ve done a lot since this video. Thank you
tachometer work?
Dalton Jones ya I had a tach in but I'm changing it out
were do yu order yur parts??
Quincy Williams mostly ebay and Amazon but the actual sellers vary from carid.com, hawksthirdgen,to many more. you should be able to find almost everything through Amazon and ebay though
TonyTheTechnician
yea bro im lookin for a dash cover like yurs....were did get yurs??
Quincy Williams ya i got my dash cap from ebay but I think the seller for that was 1aauto.com
TonyTheTechnician
ok thanks bro....nd i like wat u doin wit the camaro so far
Quincy Williams thanks bro. Glad you enjoy
link for the seat setup from ebay?
EvilMindsGFX you can go to this page or you can just type in either 82-92 camaro or firebird racing seats and a bunch of different designs will pop up
m.ebay.com/itm/TYPE-R-RACING-SEAT-BLACK-SUEDE-SILDER-FOR-82-92-FIREBIRD-TRANS-AM-3G-BRACKET-X2-/401250938884?nav=SEARCH
thanks man. was gonna buy them before but wasnt sure on fitment.
EvilMindsGFX no problem. ya they fit great. Hope you enjoy if you do buy them
i will lol. current seats arent in the greatest shape
EvilMindsGFX haha ya same with my old ones
Not a t top.. "Thats okay" bro i honestly wish I could agree with you living in utah. During the summer here its so awful that the only thing that saves me on my 1992 firebird formula is the t tops. Id cry if i didn't have them. Dont know where you are at but yeah i think its only worth it if its hot as shit but other than. Always looks sportier without t tops.
That's understandable I'm in the Midwest now and don't drive it when it's to hot or to cold bc I deleted the heat and AC
@@TonyTheTechnician it's insane. Kinda sucks but i guess that why its a sunday driver. We pick the days and the time of the day for this one. Love it tho. Nice car 👌 keep it up. I'm excited to start uploading here tax season
@@austinhood thank you
Wus the name of those seats
What kind of rims are those ?
mario gomez jegs stealth rims
..haha wow, why is every handbrake on a 3rd gen always pointing to the sky? all 3 of mine did that lol
Kyle Parker lmao ya my old one was the same way
get a 2004r transmission there stronger
greg howard the 200-4r is a good transmission and I might consider it but I was really looking at the monster ss 700r4 bc ill be running nitrous and they don't suggest using a 200r4 if you have more than 375 hp or running nitrous
Check on that tar paper I've seen videos on that and it don't last
BADsChannel if you clean the the surface correctly it works just fine. I have used it in sound systems for years and have had my car lined with it for over a year and it's doing great.
Where did you get your seats?
Chr1st1an_ GaMinG eBay. Just search 82 92 Camaro racing seats
TonyTheTechnician ok thank you
