In a weird way KD asked for this, Chuck is spot on. In Golden State everyone knew it was Stephs team, he was the driver. KD might have scored the most points but stephs movement off the ball and unselfish nature allowed KD to be KD. By leaving Golden State and going to the Nets, he prioritized driving the bus over winning more rings. This is what comes with the territory. It's what Lebron and Steph have dealt with for the last decade or so. Is it harsh? Maybe. But it's the truth. You're 3 years into this project. You got swept in the first round. This was what you wanted, your own team. Now drive the bus.
Chuck is spot on. When the Warriors lose everyone blames/d Steph for it, even though it isn’t his fault. When KD was with the Warriors he had a free pass. He was completely blameless and that is what Chuck was saying. Steph was at the forefront and was and still is the leader for the Warriors. Now KD is control of Brooklyn, he is the bus driver there.
@@threethirtynine1514 best and leader are two different things. steph was, is and will always be for the rest of his career, the leader of the warriors
@@threethirtynine1514 Again you miss the point. Being the best player and being the leader are two different things. KD was the best physical player on the Warriors, but the team as a whole was led by Steph, and it still is today. As Steph goes the team goes. If the Warriors had lost no one would have blamed KD because he wasn't then and isn't now seen as the leader of that team. A real leader leads by example. KD doesn't do that. He didn't then and he doesn't now, hence Brooklyn being swept.
When kd was with warriors they was so good that no blame was pass out to curry just in case u don’t know or wasn’t paying attention to that 3 years kd was there the only problem was with kd and green in his last season there so stop with the nonsense that kd got a free pass kd went there and did what he had to and make them better and win them back to back chips because when curry shrunk in playoffs it was kd who took them to the finals and win it
Chucks point is so nuanced and spot on it’s ridiculous, and can only come from a handful of players in his position. The fact that he is so comfortable in his own skin to give that kind of analysis on a national tv show is what makes that guy a privilege to watch. Never leave us Chuck lol
Kenny speaking from a bus riders perspective. Shaq and Chuck as bus drivers knew it was get your team to the chip or everyone gonna be lookin at the driver on why they ain’t make it.
Dang, I wanted to actually hear Shaq’s and Chuck’s opinion on KD’s tweets and Kenny had to go out with these mental gymnastics and end up getting flamed 😆
This show would be much much better if Kenny was to leave. Kenny should realize that being a "bus rider" doesn't mean you weren't a valuable contributor to the team. Every championship team needs "bus riders"; every superstar needs good role players. Players who can recognize when they're not the bus driver, and set aside their ego to play a supportive role to the actual bus driver are incredibly valuable and needed for a championship contender. The point Chuck is making is that KD hasn't led a team to victory. The Warriors had already proven they could win a title and had posted the best regular season in history by the time KD joined them. They were already a championship team who KD piggy-backed on to win his titles.

Right, when shaq get swept, he got the blame, not Penny or dennis scott. When rockets get swept, Hakeem get the blame. Not Kenny. He could be scoreless, and nobody blamed him. That's what bus driver chuck meant
Remember when Kenny tried to joke about being a champion with Chuck, Chris Webber and Reggie on the set? Then Chris said "we carry different responsibilities so don't ever compare yourself to us". He said something like that, I'm paraphrasing. I love how Chris shuts Kenny up. After that I really haven't seen Kenny and Chris in the same room.
What was even funnier was when Gary Payton clowned Kenny for being cocky, then Kenny bragged about his rings. Then Payton said “I’ve got a ring too”. Then Kenny made the comment of Payton riding Wade to which Payton “just like you rode Hakeem”. Payton was never allowed on inside the NBA again 😂
That "bus rider'" comment struck a nerve with Kenny.. just like when Charles said if "Kenny didn't play with Hakeem, he'd be cut." Kenny been holding on to that pain and resentment, ever since. And no Kenny. In basketball mortality, Sir Charles is not a champion, but he's still recognized as basketball royalty, for his great individual accomplishments. And pushing his team's to the brink of championships. However, Sir Charles is most definitely, a champion in life. Growing up poor in Leeds, Alabama. And now creating generational wealth for his family, is how he's a champion, in life. But in basketball on the NBA level.. he's not.
KD can take all the petty shots he wants at Barkley, but it won’t change the fact that Barkley is 100% right. KD may have won 2 titles as a mercenary for Steph’s Warriors, but KD has never gotten it done as the bus driver of his own team. That’s true no matter how many Barkley memes he posts.

Charles in his career 1. Carried the 76ers franchise after Dr J and Moses retired. 2. Moved to a Suns team that wasn’t anything special and made the finals in his first year. The only thing stopping him being Michael Jordan. 3. Had a small stint on a team with one good year from Hakeem, an often injured Drexler and Pippen who never played well and really just caused issues. Are people forgetting the way Durant was throwing shade at Steph, when all Curry did was keep it classy both on and off the court. Welcoming Durant, sacrificing much of his offense so Durant could get quality looks, Finals MVP's, and the majority of the glory. I'm not Barkley fan, but he hit the nail on the head. KD's response was a perfect example of a "hit dog will holler".
We all know KD is sensitive and has a chip on his shoulder. Look, there’s levels of confidence and KD ain’t on that level. He is the guy who needs to have ball washer yes men who tell him how great he is. He isn’t good at taking criticism, never has, never will be. He is insecure about people’s perception.
A great example for Charles Barkley's analogy is Dirk Nowitzki's title in 2011. Before that, he was a great player, but after winning the title as the best players vs. the LeBron Heat, he earned his seat at the champions table.
Kenny derailing things with his myopic, skewed takes, as usual. Chuck's definition is true, whereas Kenny's is the feel-good version. "To my eyes, you're a champion, even though you didn't win any championships." That's a definition, sure, one that parents often use to assuage their kids, even if it's actually condescending. Chuck has it right, though: no rings, not a champion. Harsh, but it's the truth. He even says so himself, in not so many words. So, is it any surprise that you don't get it, Kenny? You insist on your own take and refuse to consider anything else. Stephen Covey said, "seek first to understand, then to be understood." That's a golden life pro-tip for you, Kenny the Jet.
Definitely not Season champion (the one that counts the most) but he did win a western conference championship. Kenny however was never the Bus driver so Chuck and Chris were right. But KD was the bus driver last year and almost won it and he was also the Bus driver in OKC he just wasn’t as successful as Chuck was in Phoniex. That said Magic had an old leader (like Doctor J. and won it all so KD has a point about Chuck too.) Chuck saying 76’s was old was a cop out they where old but mother fuckers were still contenders. League was just being bulldozed by Celtics and Lakers during that time.
Charles is right and Kenny is missing the point. When you're the bus driver, your job is to drive your team to a championship, and you have to have to carry the weight of those losses when you don't even if you eventually win, in ways that others don't. Charles may be great, but he has to deal with the pain of not getting his team a ring. Kenny doesn't have to, because Hakeem took the responsibility for that.

Chuck and Kenny are both right in certain areas. Kenny calling Chuck a champion is a little confusing, but the spirit of what he was getting at is that even though he doesn't have a ring he was an honorable, loyal, and admirable competitor, thus the 'champion' mindset, who lost with grace. Chuck, with grace, accepts with great accountability that him not having a ring puts him a step below his contemporaries that have gotten it. But he's very secure with his career that it doesn't bug him, he's realistic. What Kenny was trying to spit out of his mouth, was more along the lines of Barkley played as well as anyone in his era, besides MJ. Charles Barkley is great, man. He has the utmost respect for championships, but having been "the guy", the championships his a little different when you are leading. Even losing as a leader carries weight to him. As long as you lose in a good way.
The respect I have for Mr Barkley is so high.
Fact
Also, to get a whole franchise trusting you, you need to be a leader. He got further than James Harden ever got btw.
Chuck being a leader on the suns is why they never won a ring.
he's just unlucky. his prime was during jordans prime. A lot of guys missed out cause of the bulls

Mad respect for Chuck not needing or even wanting anyone to help defend him, or even feel the need to really defend himself from KD trolling
He def did try to defend himself though.
KD's so soft. He's sensitive Cindy like chuck said lol
Barkley knows the truth and he gonna say if u like it or not
@@J-Hue not really. He could’ve really disrespected KD big time.
Barkley literally humbled himself in this segment.
Chuck calling KD sensitive.. isn't Chuck the same guy who spit on a girl in the stands when people near her were talking trash to Charles during a game🤔🤔
I love how Shaq called Charles his older brother. They argue quite often, but they know they both mean a lot to each other. Especially when they talking about them "bus riders"
👉
So much fighting between Shaq and Chuck throughout the years over rings and championships... but you know what? If Chuck dies first, (hopefully a long time from now), I'll bet you anything that Shaq will leave, at least, one of his rings in his older brother's tomb!

The Boston series, and other happenings this season gives me hope that the NBA is getting back to the old NBA. Team driven, well coached, nut up or shut up basketball with no excuses! The young DAWGS this season are feasting on the old guys, not cause they are better, they want it more. Chris Paul is the only exception to this.
Well Chris Paul is better! And, he wants it just as much as those young stars, if not, more
James Harden and Embiid are also exceptions because they just silenced their critics last night! Bye bye Raptors! Enjoy the fishing at Lake Ontario! Take Drake with yall!😊
@@cresswellchipman2533 Embiid out indefinitely tho. Good luck to Philly vs the Heat 😬

Good example, well done.
Didnt Dirk got swept in 2012 in the first round as well ?
@@jackjax7921 does it matter when he already led a team to a championship as a bus driver?
A better example is Kawhi
@@jackjax7921 if it was LeBron or KD it would've been brought up non stop. Folks like to move the goalpost for other players.
Shaq saying ppl messing with his older brother is so wholesome
Kenny really fighting for his life over these internet comments lol.
We’ll said
He just be talking out there . NPC level
What a great quote, more people need to know about it for sure
Definitely not Season champion (the one that counts the most) but he did win a western conference championship. Kenny however was never the Bus driver so Chuck and Chris were right. But KD was the bus driver last year and almost won it and he was also the Bus driver in OKC he just wasn’t as successful as Chuck was in Phoniex. That said Magic had an old leader (like Doctor J. and won it all so KD has a point about Chuck too.) Chuck saying 76’s was old was a cop out they where old but mother fuckers were still contenders. League was just being bulldozed by Celtics and Lakers during that time.
But there are some people who should have won championships because they were the best in the leakage, but they lost to a superteam.
Facts because like Chuck stated awhile back we’re not going to blame KJ, Cedric, or Dan. Chuck been taking heat for 29 years.
He ain't missing the point. He wants to make himself as relevant as Olajuwon
@@theetruth8626

@@chillvibed Knicks are irrelevant. All of their accolades are medieval
I've always wished that people like Chuck would try coaching, assisting, something on a team and win a championship. I know it isn't the same as playing and winning one, but I think he deserves it.
This holds true for probably 98% but great players don't even make good coaches
@@raybee5574 didn't say only coaching, got to read everything. Even people that work in the office get championship rings. Alonzo Mourning isn't a coach for the Heat, but if they win another championship, he'll have another ring.
He doesn’t try to aggrandize his career to more than what it was but he also knows he was a an absolute baller, which he was. Highly respect Chuck.
Thank you, best take on this whole situation I've seen.
Best comment
True
What Kenny was trying to spit out of his mouth, was more along the lines of Barkley played as well as anyone in his era, besides MJ. CB played like a superstar, every bit as good as the other Champions of his Era. It's not his fault that his 76'er, Suns, Rocket squads weren't as loaded like MJ and Pippen's Bulls or Birds and McHale's Celts or Magic's and Kareem's then Worthy's Lakers, who took all the rings in his Era
And Barkley is rarely ever a hypocrite. He knows how he'd be if he had a ring, and he's not going to lower himself to taking Kenny's babbling logic explaining the value of hugs and participation trophies.. Lol
Yeah that's how Kenny meant it but you can't say you're a champion without winning a championship.... what he should've said is he's a hall of famer/all-star player
It’s cute how Shaq gets defensive over his “older brother” Chuck.
