For those who see "Requires windows installation disc" , you need to click yes i have a disc, then skip, then it should bring you to the screen were you click no i dont have a disc and it restarts... now as it is booting up click f8 a bunch of times so it brings up a black screen with options, go up to repair computer and click enter! Now research the right recovery option (reset completely or scan for issues or whatever) there ya go!!

If you don’t have an Installation DVD, you can make a Usb hard-drive/flash-drive into an installation tool as well and use that (but you’ll have to purchase a product key to activate it separately)

hi, when i click advanced recovery methods its not show reset computer to factory reset its say reinstall windows(requires Windows installation disc) is this one delete all my data from pc like movie or games or only delete my windows and install it again ?
First your going to need Windows disk to reinstall, and yes you will have option to reformat
buy a window disk :P
Before doing this move your windows files to a usb. You don't have to rebuy windows (over $100)

This restore method only works if your computer has a recovery partition, other wise you will have to use your Windows DVD to re-install Windows.

This video is not for all windows 7 systems. Some you must have the disk to reinstall windows. Waste of time.
The process still applies, the only difference is the added step of putting the disc in before the restore begins

This is just a way of reinstalling IF YOU HAVE A RECOVERY PARTITION, which he never actually says; if you don't have one, you need a disk and then you might aswell just boot the disk...
@Mike burp I know a software called Dell OS Recovery tool, sadly you can only make bootable media only

use bootable usb pendrive. that'll work.
***** you should have windows 7 set up as .iso file. (download if you don't have it ) then you can download Rufus or winusb maker and follow simple steps to make the usb bootable.
you guys must have clicked the wrong thing somewhere when doing this b/c at no time ever do you need a disc...why? b/c no one gets a disc with their compute! see if you can go back, back, back, til you figure out where you went wrong? i dunno what else to tell you...sorry for your troubles tho :(

This is an HP restore don't expect yours to look anything like this unless you have the same HP computer. His windows files are stored on a special partition you may need a disk. In short this is a terrible example as its not really a windows reset but is hooked the HP recovery on this guys PC.

It's weird because I have this desktop, my main system, which has the return to factory setting option, but then I have a laptop with windows 7 home pro also, both the same os, yet it doesn't have the return to factory settings options. And my laptop is totally messed up and running like a three legged dog and I've no restore points either. :(

restore point is one thing and system recovery is different. first you know what model is your laptop, find out what F function key gets you to the menu to perform system recovery. From then on is easier, you could loose data.

Guys you click on reinstall windows then there's two options the one you want would be the "Full Destructive Recovery" click on that then your computer will now wait then it'll be done. :)

yes you can do it from torrent sides and etc. storytime: i once looked for a phone headphone and i opened a the drawers on my fathers compiter desk
drawer 1: printing paper and work stuff( dont want to touch)
drawer2: cables (usb, micro usb, converters, etc.)
drawer 3: storage hardwares ( i found 3micro sd-s with their sd adapters ,some usb flashdrive, and like 10 winxp and 3 win7 and 2 win8 cd.

Thats because your computer is not preloaded with windows, so you are going to need windows disc.

yes and no depending of the virus. Some viruses are nasty. But hopefully the reset will erase the virus.
well I actually fixed it by restoring apparently the virus removed every system restore except the one before I installed the thing

Simply all i did year's ago was bought a 160-Gig for a fiver for back-up's on Windows - 7,bought a new Laptop and Formatted the External drive and bingo as all - file's head to ''E'' -Drive and USB -Pen's. I Factory Reset my Acer and although it was 6 year's old it was wrecked to a crawl,and use it for KODI + TV now,still work's but not near as fast as my new HP-Laptop. It took 2 - weeks for all updates to finally go back-in the Acer then blocked Windows 10 by a program called GWX-Control Panel as my Windows build on 7 has nothing wrong with it and now all Linux....10/10 Nice Video as HP work really well
