There are many, many absolutely brilliant opera singers with immense talent. None of them could ever in a million years do what Pavarotti did. He made it seem so damn easy its infuriating. There are people who are once in a universe talent. Luciano Pavarotti can sit side by side with Freddie Mercury as a once in a universe level of talent. There will never be anyone like those men ever again.

That's kinda like someone crossing out the words on a tombstone and rewriting it with with a crayon. How about just asking people to hear the person you consider important and when that happens write something that makes Enrico Caruso seem in a good light instead of "Correction! Very interesting seeing you talk about what Pavarotti was actually doing in this video. Of course you didn't have enough time to explain all the techniques he was using but having that understanding as a trained singer of how much is going on and being to explain some of it was great.
Most people don't realise the complexity opera singers have to master over years and decades to produce performances like this. The sheer concentration and energy is huge and a performance like this is an enormous effort. His facial expressions at the end, no doubt enhanced for the performance, are genuine - he felt what he was singing.
I have had the privilege of seeing several operas at the ROH in Covent Garden and live performances are on a different level. For those of you who haven't it's worth it. If you think a recording is a powerful experience, it's a pale shadow of a live opera. The music and especially the singing penetrates so deeply that you go into a kind of trance-like shock and the experience is a fundamental one.

Every time I hear him sing this song I get goosebumps and in the middle of the song the tears just flow. As a child whose parents are Italian, I heard these opera songs along with the Italian folk songs. As an adult not only do I enjoy these special performances but also on an emotional level it brings me back to my beautiful childhood.
Pavarotti was an amazing and exceptional singer, a gift from heaven. Thank you for that explanation of what he mentally and physically has to prepare and do to produce his sound; and I know that was only a small portion of what is needed.
I always enjoy your discussions when doing the reactions.

Did you react to the video of Dimash singing with Andrea Bocelli? It is so much fun because Dimash was a nervous wreck...lol. Bocelli asked Dimash to come backstage with him and he sat down at the piano and asked Dimash to sing because he wanted to hear his voice. It is a great but, short video. Thank You for all of your reactions Peace and Love Take Care

First time listening to one of your reactions. I was most pleasantly surprised at the discussion of what it takes to produce a sound like that from the human body. I learned a lot. Also enjoyed the philosophical discussion at the end about being a conduit for the creation that flows through one. You will find many scientists and inventors describe this same phenomena. I think it may be that we all have a certain frequency that we can tap into if we take the time and make the effort, whether it be music, science, art, literature - you just have to find your own note.

It's such a shame people aren't aware of Pavarotti. The views on this video are an indication that many young people under 30 have no idea what a once in a lifetime voice sounds before auto-tune and other post production software made everyone sound like a god. I'm not into Opera, I usually prefer female vocalists like Morissette or So Hyang over male performers because the sound of a chest-mix belt feels so much more full than males hitting the same notes in a head voice/mix. This is not the case with Luciano Pavarotti.

Many “singers” & “vocal coaches” here on YT have tried, but most fall short. If you do decide to check them out, “Pisces”, while not my personal favorite, would be a good example of her capabilities.
