I’m glad you love the GMT! I picked one up a couple months ago from the AD ☺️ and in love it!!! my favorite watch. EVER.
The 11 series Daytona with its more flowing organic case lines and bolder dial is now THE ss Daytona to own. The new 12 series Daytona metal ring under the ceramic is now a insert and going to be a scratch and ding magnet. The blocky super case is also a fail.
For the most part, I agree with Eric's take (especially on the Daytona changes). QUESTION FOR ERIC: With the new, open clear case back on the Plat Daytona, doesn't that mean that the existing Plat Daytona (with solid case back) is now discontinued? Especially the solid case back Plat Daytona with baguette indices??

The Yachtmaster will be interesting: I have done consulting in auto and airplane industries so familiar with Ti - but many aren’t and when I hand them my Pelagos 39 they think the lack of weight means no value. We all know Rolex will sell all of them.
100% love the new dial on on the Datona. My favourite is the yacht master 42. I'm on the wish list for one already! 😊 Great perdition Eric. Dubai Dick 👍

The case of the Daytona is now a true 40mm rather than a 38.5mm. It has more of the maxicase look like the GMT with sharp edges and also sits higher

Any predictions on what happens to the older model Platonas? I remember predictions of them sky rocketing if discontinued, but with a similar replacement, are they just gonna tank?

I think the puzzle daydate is cool. It's a women's watch but cool nonetheless. Something new and different, refreshing.

I agree with most of your takes as always. Nailed it. Rolex must of been drunk for a few of them but overall solid.
I just got the new Explorer 1, simple, clean and just perfect... I also got the normal black GMT master 2 and the skydweller blue dial. I think my daily is gonna be my explorer 1 40mm.

They did change the case size. People reported that now the watch is actual 40mm rather than 38,5.

the Seiko sports gmt has the black and grey bezel.
Ma786sai Dua mine is a D Series 2005 solid 18 carat Yellow gold with the 8 diamond dots. Ref 116528, Black laqer dial. I was offered a 2009 gold Sub black dia Ref 116618. Do I swap?

re: daytona - wasnt the point of using ceramic to be less destructible than metal? now its surrounded by a ring of thin (malleable) metal in the very place where dings/hits occur most often?

Since they rectified the Daytona bezel, now i see what it is that i did not like about the Daytona compared to the other models. Now its beautiful to me!

The solid platinum Daytona with baguettes diamonds and without brown subdials is gone. All new platinum Daytona now has brown subdials

On gmts Rolex is not going back to single colored bezel
the Nautilus would have been better if the elimitated the 12 O'clock number totally..>.they elimitated the 6 O'clock number for the date....why didnt they just eliminate the 12.....would have been symetric at least. Its attractive model either way.
Explorer One should never have been larger than 38mm, this "Gigantism" must come to an end!

Im not happy with the Daytona tbh :/ Im so used to the no ring looks from all the years it looks like shit rn, at least the display case on all models wouldve been nice, pobably will get used to it lol.

Stopping the popular Daytona dials was a play to boost grey market values. The emoji & inspirational word President is also Rolex throwing spaghetti on the wall to see what sticks. The grey black bezel GMT is a Watch design by committee: some wanted the all black and others said we need two colors on our GMT bezel, the compromised (it’s the only one I would have, at list). Rolex ADs getting desperate with the sag in resale values.
