I haven't seen a DAB+ receiver cheaper than €72+ that could play the full treble spectrum. Under that price they all sound as if they can't replicate the SBR part of HE-AAC. To me, that's pretty pricey and I don't understand why can't smartphones include it already, taking advantage of combined design saving costs?
We have DAB and DAB+ in the UK, but it sounds like crap, and some music stations that are supposed to be in stereo, are MONO on DAB and DAB+. It's because they're broadcasting DAB in the UK with totally inadequate bit-rates, like 24kbps AAC.
Dear friend, the broadcasting standard has nothing to do with it, it’s all about the greed of the broadcasters and the owner of the multiplex. If the goal was to broadcast in excellent quality, then more than 10 stations would not be allowed into the multiplex. In the meantime, there are no restrictions on this, then everyone will use it to the detriment of sound quality. In fact, the DAB+ standard is not bad, I once waited for its implementation in Russia, but here no one cares about the development of radio. There is only one FM, which is completely full only in major cities. In small towns there are usually 1-2 stations, if any.
I have always loved watching all your videos Roger. I learned a lot about Crystal Radio theory from you.

This radio is a good candidate to modify to become a esp32 based web radio. What are the tft screen dimensions please?
