This was NOT that good. In fact it SUCKED.
Made zero sense and the acting was awful. Wasn't compelling in the slightest but sure it's better than the BBC Xmas ghost stories
We totally buy that.

@@6HauntedDaysit was better than recent BBC offerings, it would have been more atmospheric if they wore clothing from the early 20th century , great effort though decent story and good music , very M R James .
There is no need to be so brutal in your summing up , they have not got the resources as Mark Gatiss who manages to balls everything up he touches .

Loved the 70s James adaptations for Christmas and this would stand them just nicely.
