  • Scoring plays from the 2003 Ohio State @ Michigan game. Michigan 35, aOSU 21. John Navarre had two touchdown passes to Braylon Edwards, Chris Perry had two rushing TDs, and Steve Breaston ran for a score.
    Sure, it's not edited as fast-paced as my other stuff, but I hope you enjoy it anyway.

    Even though my loyalties lie with the SEC (Especially UGA), watching Keith Jackson broadcast a Michigan-OSU game was always one of my best memories when it came to ABC College Football.

      @@geezydoesit6205 I actually went from loving RichRod to hating him like two games into the 2008 season. Times were different back then. Expectations were different. We had like a 25 year Bowl streak going. Last weekend could mark the time where we finally start crawling out of the darkness.

    Cheers Cromulus. I meant to say "helm" which is how the boat is steered--again correct me if I'm wrong. We've ALL got something to learn in this life. Tressel's in control of the rivalry now--like Carr in the 90s when U-M dominated OSU. It's going to be interesting how RR takes over at U-M. This is a crossroads for U-M. A coaching change is a big deal. A new culture as well as an entire style change is happening in Ann Arbor. I can't wait for The Game in November. Good Luck U-M. GO BUCKEYES!

    Agreed. Michigan needed a complete change of perspective. I think RR will provide that. While I don't necessarily hold out much hope for 2008, once RR is settled I think things will change for the better. If not the 90s dominance of yesteryear, at least a return of parity to the rivalry.

    I agree. He better win at least Big Ten title in the next 4 seasons. I predict he will win one next season, but he had better win one by no later then 2011. Because Michigan has such a rich history, the expectations are high. But I think RR can meet them, and will meet them. Go Blue!

    Also, based on what RR was able to do at west Virginia with a bunch of 2 and 3 star prospects (read: Pat White, Steve Slaton, Chris Henry, and Pacman Jones), I think he's going to mold all the incredible talent at Michigan into a dominant jauggernaut, just like Bo did in the 70's. I don't think Michigan will ever own Ohio State again like they did in the late 80's and 90's, but i DO think you're going to see the Wolverines return to their powerhouse form from the 70's.

    1. 2005 Penn State Nittany Lions - equal to USC and Texas, could have played ball with them that year.
    2. 2002 Ohio State Buckeyes - National championship caliber team
    3. 2008 Penn State Nittany Lions - A great team that unfortunately lost in the Rose Bowl
    4. 2002 Iowa Hawkeyes - A very underrated team that looked at times better than the team that took home the hardwood.
    Those are just my top 4, but you could switch around any of those and still have a good argument for it.

    And as far as this years game. Michigan's offense has weapons, Ohio States Defense is more expirienced then people want to believe. OSUs o-line is going to be really good and I believe Michigan lost 2 big defensive front guys (Branch and woodley). I would be surprised to see a blowout but would not be surprised to see Michigan win.

  • @Poole1Dan
    @Poole1Dan 16 лет назад

    I beg to differ. Michigan doesn't have as much talent ON OFFENSE as they did last season, but overall, their talent level is as good as ever. If there was one thing Lloyd Carr did really well, it was recruiting. He brought in a boatload of 4 and 5 star prospects every year, and now RR inherits all that talent. Michigan is going to be great right off the bat under RR. Also, considering the way they ran the spread against Florida, michigan should ahve little trouble adapting to RR's system.

  • @goblue918
    @goblue918 16 лет назад

    I'm glad we're getting the most dangerous type of offense to defend, but it will feel so weird not running a pro style offense like we have for the past 18 years. Man, college football has changed so much, that ABC music isn't as good as it used to be, my favorite commentor is retired (Keith Jackson), and the Big 10 isn't nearly as good as it always was. And the Bo era is officially over :(. Man oh man, RR better win a national championship for us.

  • @Poole1Dan
    @Poole1Dan 16 лет назад

    Everybody said that Florida had problems enacting the spread offense when Ue
    ban Meyer arrived. Yeah, that turned out to be accurate.
    Based on the way they played in the Capital One Bowl, Michigan should have no problem adjusting to RR's spread offense.

    5 outta 6 boys for the bucks. gamble was the best corner in the nation his last two years there. besides the TD that made it 21-0, the rest was zone coverage. and the TD he scored the year before, Edwards shoved him to the ground. Most of his catches in 2002 were little dump offs over the middle and not against Gamble if you actually watched the game.

  • @goblue918
    @goblue918 16 лет назад

    Man, Keith Jackson and Dan Fouts was probably the best combination of commentors ever, along with that great ABC music! God I miss those days, now it's just spread offense, I like the spread, but give me a break, everybody runs it now, it's not that exciting of an offense anymore now that everybody runs it!

    @CTOWN72 you're right, our coach is a joke because he doesn't seem to have any urgency considering he is with the most storied program in college football history; the most wins and being around for over 120 years and still maintaining the highest winning percentage for that long.Tressel won't be around for 20 years and we are too good of a program to ever let a coach continue to stink up the place. We're the last of all the elite programs in over a 100 years to have a drop off. that's amazing.

  • @parkinggod
    @parkinggod  17 лет назад

    Yeah, I never thought anybody could get away with out-Lloyding Lloyd (Paterno seems to try it every year, but 9-0 speaks for itself there), but Tressel basically shut down the offense once OSU went up 14-3, because he knew Michigan wasn't going to score again.

    Hey Timbeau, I'm just speaking from the feeling I get from reading the sports writers at freep. I read one article that was pretty harsh on RR. It mostly had to do with the early days of his arrival and the departure of Mallett. According to Mallett's mom, RR didn't try too hard to make Mallett feel like he wanted him around..the assumption is that RR wanted Pryor and put all his eggs in that basket. I think Mallett was leaning on leaving anyway, with all the WRs going to the NFL...

  • @Poole1Dan

    "I dont see RR dominate like Bo did"
    I do. And BTW, i'm not saying that Michigan is going to own Ohio State now that RR is in town. I think that we are in for "10 year war II." (Hopefully Michigan will win it again) I think you're going to see Michigan and Ohio State going at it for the Big Ten title everyyear until at least 2015, just like it was in the 70's.

    The only input i have is that I remember when michigan had a better team in 2004 and it didnt matter, OSU had better teams in the nineties and it didnt matter. Talent only goes so far in this game. Remember Edwards had a first down in 2004 and he turned early and dropped an extremely easy pass to catch. Plus Henne and Hart really havent shown that they can win at the end of the year(OSU 3 times USC twice) so....

  • @MargauxKim_13

    Hmmm....well, the 0-9 vs. SEC teams in bowls is unfortuately true. It's also true that the last two have been in the biggest bowl game of all. Even bigger than the Rose Bowl! Imagine that! Michigan can't claim that. I still respect Michigan's program, but the momentum has changed since Tressel's at the stern and OSU's again the top dog in the Big Ten.

    You better HOPE he's Bo Schembechler. But he has to win 200 games first to even be mentioned with Bo. So good luck RR. (You better hope he's AT LEAST as good as Carr.) I say he has four years maximum to win the Big Ten. If he can't do it, he's out of a job. GO BUCKS!

    I think they are good players but havent shown they can win at the end of the year(Osu three times, USC twice) They just havent shown enough to finish off those types of games late in the year.

    I just don't see the point in most cases (unless the announcers are completely unlistenable). As for the balance between teams, let's just say that I kicked that habit in later years... :)

    Hart doesn't have to win it by himself. Ever hear of Manningham, Arrington, Long, & Henne? I can't wait for MM to use that double move on your DB's and break their ankles
