Loved the straightforward, easy-to-follow approach. Still trying to figure out why I have power but can't get the dishwasher to start and run. Certain I missed something along the process. Probably going to redo; but it will be much quicker the second time.
So frustrating when the panel description doesn't match up with the actual breakers. Sometimes the panel is put on upside down. If all else fails, you can process of elimination and find out what breaker really is tied to the dishwasher. Be careful! Use the voltage tester
@@ColtonCrumpDIY No, we figured out the panel, found the right breaker, managed to not electrocute myself. But after I finished installing, turned the breaker back on, has power, lights up. Won't start. So, yeah, fiddling again. Seems to be balanced, but I'm double-checking everything again.

Nice job!! Every dishwasher is different but this is the jist of what needs to happen. So glad this helped. Kudos to you doing something that could be intimidating to others!! Woo! You did it!

I'm not particularly mechanically minded but I can follow directions and copy. Here's hoping I can find the tools I need in the hoarder shed. 🎉
@BobbiGail you got this. Take it one step at a time. I know I go fast but pause it, go back, re watch, and next thing you know you'll be done. Maybe 2 to 3 hours, but you got this!!
I love this video so much! Thank you for your comedic edits and for showing just how easy this is to do. Now I just need to get my new dishwasher. Thank you!
1 small tip before you reconnect the old water line. Flush it. Just turn the valve on slightly for a few seconds and put something under to catch the water. This just makes sure nothing nasty gets in the new washer line. If you’re using a new line no need! But great video!
Few things to add: Unplug the dishwasher if you can or check for power Check for leaks before you slide it back in Screw the feet down on the existing dishwasher before sliding it out - gives you a lot more room to work with. If you're replacing cords you can disconnect them and not be worried about damaging them while pulling out.
@@ColtonCrumpDIY sure thing, thanks for the video. Reminded me of some of things I had forgotten since the last time I did one. I usually do a full cord replace so I unhook from the disposal, water valve, and outlet side, but I might not this time. You made it look easy though :D, last time I did one took me 2 hours to get it in because I forgot about those feet screwing up and down.
Also, mention that 1) some building codes require an air gap between the DW and drain, and 2) some professional installers won't hard-wire the DW in, they must have a GFI plug available.
Great video! Thank you! I hope this helps someone. I was thinking the hardest part of this for me would be laying the dishwasher on its back and then picking it back up again. But I figured out that I can put two chairs facing each other and lay the dishwasher back on those. I hope the weight distribution will allow for that. Doing it that way will also keep me from having to get down on the floor and pick myself back up. I'm 65 and have arthritis, so I don't like having to do that.
Thanks for making this! I had difficulties in the execution itself (got a couple cuts from raw edges, had several hard-to-access fasteners) but the next step was never a question. Excellent video!
Not every dishwasher is the same, but the concept is pretty universal. Bottom of dishwashers are no joke as the manufacturer keeps a lot of the metal down there pretty raw and feel no need to sand any corners or edges. Glad you got it figured out!!! I bet it looks great!
I have watched countless you tube videos and none have been as concise and simply informative as this one. I have never commented before ever. Respect.

Took about 2 hours because I had a lot of water in my line so I thought the water was still on. I mean it had to have been about 2 gallons of water left in the line. I was freaking out a bit trying not to flood my kitchen but all good. Thanks for the tutorial fam
I didn't this time as everything looked good and was already pretty tight with no leaks. Would recommend for any threads that you're not able to get as tight as you would have hoped or there is that concern of leaking outside of the threads.
I’m trying to muster up the courage to do this today. I misunderstood the delivery option on my new dishwasher and I was left standing there in my kitchen wondering how the heck I am supposed to get this accomplished. Your video has made me feel a little better. Now to decide if I need some lunch before I tackle this! Wish me luck.
Grab some lunch, maybe a snack, if you eat too much you might justify taking a nap or be too full and motivation is gone. Haha. Best of luck. You got this!
I’m just installing an older, used Hobart D/W in my tiny house. After locating the wires, I’ve decided to install a plug-in cord to the dedicated 20 a receptacle behind the d/w. Also, since the used d/w didn’t come with any hoses, I’m putting in a new water supply hose and a new drain hose. The issues I have are matching sizes of the connection points. I believe that the fill hose is 3/8” with a 1/2” female connector. The drain hose will fit the existing clamp connection but the other end is larger than the sink trap tailpiece. So I’m trying to figure how to remedy that. I won’t have a garbage disposal, but will install and air gap under the sink.
Have you checked your local home hardware store to see if they have an adapter? Or Amazon even. Just the make sure you get some clamps or pvc cleaner/glue. Did you also make sure your D/W is on a Gfci line? By code they need to be.

@@ColtonCrumpDIY Totally! The new dishwasher has been sitting in the garage for over a month. I saw your video today and it gave me the confidence I needed. About 2hrs later, project completed and the family is happy! As a new subscriber, I'll definitely be checking out more of your videos. Thanks again for sharing!
@@Rothmans406 I love it!!! If my videos don't help anyone else and this was the only thing I got out of making them, I'd be satisfied. Thanks for watching! I appreciate the support! More videos to come. :)
Took about 2 hours because I had a lot of water in my line so I thought the water was still on. I mean it had to have been about 2 gallons of water left in the line. I was freaking out a bit trying not to flood my kitchen but all good. Thanks for the tutorial fam
Whew glad it worked out!
Great concise video. No thread seal when connecting the water pipe?
I didn't this time as everything looked good and was already pretty tight with no leaks. Would recommend for any threads that you're not able to get as tight as you would have hoped or there is that concern of leaking outside of the threads.
Best video on the subject
Oh snap! That's very nice of you to say! I appreciate it. 🙏
I Thanks to your video, i'm going to attemt to remove my old dishwasher today to prepare for the arrival of our new one. Wish me luck! 👍😊

Step by step installed mine with this! Thanks!
Woo!! Glad it helped! Thanks for watching and commenting. You enjoy that new dishwasher haha
Did you get it installed without killing yourself?
@@planetfabulous5833 it's been 3 months. Should we send help? LoL

Thanks for doing this video, just took out my dishwasher, thanks to you, and will get my new one tomorrow. Thanks!
Thanks for watching and commenting! Best of luck on the install of your new one!!
Great video! What word am I looking for to order a set of bits that includes the hard to find stars and other shapes?
That star looking bit is called a torx screw. This should do www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-SHOCKWAVE-Impact-Duty-Alloy-Steel-Torx-Security-Screw-Driver-Bit-Set-10-Piece-48-32-4618/302766777 or there are other sets you can buy with a variety of bits. I put a link of all the tools I used in the description.
Good instructional video.
Thanks!
thanks so much, this lead me to success with my install.
Woo! So glad this helped! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Test that the wires are not hot before touching them! it's very easy to turn off the wrong breaker ! Helpful video overall.
It's like roulette, touch it and no shock, you're good! Haha thanks for watching and commenting Riley!
Thank you so much. Was having trouble trying to figure out how to do this "hard-wired" thing. This was perfectly right on. Good job explaining it. Thanks. 👍
