I'm a complete beginner, and it took me 3 hours, but with these instructions I was able to remove, inspect, fix wiring, and reinstall my dishwasher! Even with a slightly different setup on the bottom, all the directions were clear and super easy to follow. Thank you for this video!
Boo ya! That's what these videos are here for! Great to hear! Thanks for watching and commenting and nice work on getting that done ✔️
You are the man. 6 minutes video to install a dishwasher straightforward NO time wasting.
Thanks man.
What I strive for is helping get you all the info you need in the least amount of time. Appreciate the comment and watching!
That's right! Though, he could've cleaned the floor off camera? Installing a new DW without cleaning the floor = yuck.
you're not wrong. hindsight 100% should have cleaned off camera. Because what happened was after everything was said and done, it was cleaned afterwards and the video was already up and published. haha ill remember this next time for an appliance install video.
All I can say is THANK YOU! I changed out my daughters dishwasher today watching you on my iPad step by step lol! No nonsense, no giving too much info, just straight forward.
You are awesome and welcome! Nice job!! So glad this helped and nice job getting this job done! :) thank you for watching and commenting the success you had with this video.
Agreed. Right to the point. Hard to get that 👌
Thank you thank you! Appreciate it
One of the simplest, direct to the point diy i've watched. Great editing. Thanks. Will replace mine when i get home fm work today.
Thank you so much for saying that! Appreciate you watching and commenting! Best of luck replacing your dishwasher!
How did it go?
@@theluckyreviewerchannel9546 - One year later, the suspense is killing me 😆
Our new dishwasher just arrived so I've been watching vids in preparation for the big switch. This is the best one I've found, great job!
Alright alright alright!!! So glad you've done your homework. Thanks for watching and hope you feel well equipped to tackle the project!
Thank you Colton so much for this video. You covered everything I need to get the job done plus the tools I need to accomplish the installation. Bravo!
Thanks Alan!! So glad this video helped. Thank you for watching and commenting!!
This video was immensely helpful in replacing my old dishwasher with a new one. Thanks for making!!
Thank you for watching and commenting! Glad you found it helpful :)
Thank you! 3 years later, your vid was perfect - matched my set-up exactly, made a first-time swap-out easy breezy.
Nice! Love it! Glad it helped especially 3 years later. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Wow I'm honestly impressed. No nonsense straight to the point informative and you're not trying to sell me on some product or endorsed by.
Thank you! 😃 appreciate the kind words. I try to get straight to the point and waste minimal amount of time for you!
Thanks for making this! I had difficulties in the execution itself (got a couple cuts from raw edges, had several hard-to-access fasteners) but the next step was never a question. Excellent video!
Not every dishwasher is the same, but the concept is pretty universal. Bottom of dishwashers are no joke as the manufacturer keeps a lot of the metal down there pretty raw and feel no need to sand any corners or edges. Glad you got it figured out!!! I bet it looks great!
Absolutely epic video! I’ve never installed a dishwasher before and your video made it sooooo easy! Thank you! Keep the great videos coming!
Thanks James!!! Great work and thanks for watching and commenting!
I didn’t even refer to the instructions that came with my new washer. This was awesome! So glad I found it.
I mean if this video helped awesome! Personally I would have at least glanced over your manual to make sure no step was skipped. If you got it and it works great safely, awesome!
Thank You. For someone with a moderate amount of DIY knowledge, but never having replaced a dishwasher before, your video was perfect. No overly wordy explanations or repeating the same asinine warnings about making sure you remember to trip the breaker or turn off the water supply or you could end up with a mess. Sigh… those videos drive me crazy. To the point, well spoken, clear video, no multiple reminders about common sense things like “ don’t forget to make sure you triple check that your screws are snugged up tight to prevent any problems in the future. “. And no novel length speeches like the one that I’m giving in this comment. Liked, subbed, and notifications on, just because I think if you post something, I might learn something and I didn’t have to devote an hour to something you could concisely explain to me in five minutes. So thank You! I’m a fan!
Thanks for the comment! You're really the ideal target audience I make content for. DIY experience in a variety of things and feel confident to take on a project like this. Just need a little bit of a push of info to get it started. Thanks for liking, subscribing, and watching! I'm trying to get more content out in the future.
Short, sweet, and to the point. Nice work and thanks for the helpful video!
That's what I strive for! Thanks Ryan! Appreciate you watching and commenting.
Colton, you forgot the absolute most important step! Always always always test before touch! Verify that the power is off with a voltmeter or test light before de-terminating the power leads!
You are right. I did forget to mention to test with a multimeter, or something similar or as simple as a test light. Test it out and make sure the voltage has stopped from the wires. I usually do pretty well at mentioning this but I forgot to add it in this one. Thanks for the comment!
My dishwasher plugged into the wall. Should I check the breaker too? I bought a dishwasher and had them install it.
If you have a dishwasher that was installed with a cord that plugs into an outlet and had a licensed professional install it, likely the outlet is protected and you should be fine to replace your dishwasher by unplugging it then ensuring your new dishwasher has a plug that also plugs into the same outlet
An easier way: Very first thing to do is switch off circuit breaker. Then turn on dishwasher. If it doesn't light up, you have cut off the power.
You might of just saved my life! My wife just got a new dishwasher and I turned off the breaker labeled dishwasher. Turns out it was still getting electricity.
Few things to add:
Unplug the dishwasher if you can or check for power
Check for leaks before you slide it back in
Screw the feet down on the existing dishwasher before sliding it out - gives you a lot more room to work with.
If you're replacing cords you can disconnect them and not be worried about damaging them while pulling out.
Thanks Michael!
@@ColtonCrumpDIY sure thing, thanks for the video. Reminded me of some of things I had forgotten since the last time I did one. I usually do a full cord replace so I unhook from the disposal, water valve, and outlet side, but I might not this time.
You made it look easy though :D, last time I did one took me 2 hours to get it in because I forgot about those feet screwing up and down.
Should you turn off the power on the breaker or is that not necessary?
I would for sure recommend turning off the power at the breaker box, circuit box whatever you want to call it, before handling any of these wires.
Also, mention that 1) some building codes require an air gap between the DW and drain, and 2) some professional installers won't hard-wire the DW in, they must have a GFI plug available.
dishwasher installer no called/no showed today so i used your video and did it myself. super easy to follow and to the point. my new dishwasher is running great now… thank you!
Boo ya! They should have paid you. Ha. Nice job!! Glad this helped
Great video. Full of valuable information, and (gratefully) lacking any long, drawn out banter. THANKS!
Thank you thank you!!
Laying it on its back for installation...was a new one for me, thanks! 😄
Thanks so much for your tutorial. It did take me 2.5 hours, but I did get it in. It was my first time on this type of project. I had my uncle who is a appliance repairman to look it over. He said I put it in perfectly.
Nice work! Good job doing it so well the first time. 👏 thanks for watching and commenting. Hopefully future demonstration videos that I make will be just as helpful for you :)
Really appreciate the video. First time home buyer. Couldn't understand why there wasn't any water coming into the machine. Got to the part where you said shut the water valve off under the sink and boom!! Im a idot and didn't even check to see if the vavle was on. It wasnt... easy fix. Works as advertised now! First dish washer ive ever had. Didnt have one growing up and renting sure as hell didn't have one. Didnt know anything about them till now. Thanks again for the video!
You are welcome! Congrats on your first home. So cool. You'll never want to go back to hand washing again. Haha thanks for watching!
It’s likely that the seller shut the water off to prevent damage while house was vacant. A cool thing to do in my opinion.
Your video has given me the courage to install a new dishwasher myself. I'll be doing it this weekend - wish me luck!
Kirk! You got this!! You can do it! This is not only easy but the feeling of "yeah I did that on my own and it works great!" Is a massive motivator. Best of luck. Send me before and after photos if you feel like it. coltoncrumpdiy@gmail.com
How’d it go? Doing the very same this weekend but three years later.
It was not bad at all. This video gave me all the skills I needed! Good luck@@kylemurray3526
Saved $200 because of this, THANK YOU. Home Depot automatically billed us $200 to install, but we cancelled as well as sent back/refunded their automatically ordered installation kits for $45. How they get away w that is so sad....RE: installation, those wires are insanely STIFF, that was the hardest part :P
Boo ya! Love to hear about savings and how this helped you. Thanks for sharing and watch out for any of those hidden fees, they'll get cha.
Excellent, especially for being concise. Shows every step close-up. I recommend using teflon tape on all water connections. Save a couple hundred bucks by DIY.
Good recommendation! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you so much. Was having trouble trying to figure out how to do this "hard-wired" thing. This was perfectly right on. Good job explaining it. Thanks. 👍
Thanks for watching and commenting and glad you were able to get it all figured out!
Thank you man, couldn't have done it without you.
Love that this helped! Thanks for watching
Getting a new dishwasher in a few days and I'll be using this video every step of the way. Thanks!
Boo ya! Best of luck! If your dishwasher is a plug in instead of hard wired, keep that in mind that it would be a plug into the wall or your protected outlet in the dishwasher area. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great video! Thank you! I hope this helps someone. I was thinking the hardest part of this for me would be laying the dishwasher on its back and then picking it back up again. But I figured out that I can put two chairs facing each other and lay the dishwasher back on those. I hope the weight distribution will allow for that. Doing it that way will also keep me from having to get down on the floor and pick myself back up. I'm 65 and have arthritis, so I don't like having to do that.
You got it! If anything call you friendliest neighbor over to help you pick it up and move it around!
I love this video so much! Thank you for your comedic edits and for showing just how easy this is to do. Now I just need to get my new dishwasher. Thank you!
Of course!! Thank you for your kind words and appreciate you watching and commenting :)
This is awesome! Best step by step video I've seen. I'll definitely be using this. Thanks so much!
Thank you! Appreciate the compliment and you checking out my video!! :)
Doing my first installation job today, this video was a big help thanks!
Awesome!! Hope it goes well!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks for doing this video, just took out my dishwasher, thanks to you, and will get my new one tomorrow. Thanks!
Thanks for watching and commenting! Best of luck on the install of your new one!!
This was a big help! My regular plumber wasn't available and I was so tired of washing dishes by hand. (Old dishwasher broke)
Glad it helped!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I have watched countless you tube videos and none have been as concise and simply informative as this one. I have never commented before ever. Respect.
Thank you! I try! Happy you found this informative and hopefully I can keep making stuff that will continue to be helpful!
Badass straight forward and to the point.. thanks brother!
You got it. Thanks for watching!!
Great Video! I appreciate the fact that you get right to the point without telling me about the weather in your area or showing me your dog or cat;).
We’ll Done Sir!
Thank you very much! I appreciate the compliment as this is what I strive for. Straight to the point. Thanks again for watching and commenting
Excellent video. Right to the point and with great humorous comments. We’ll done!
Thank you!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I don't understand how plumbers and electricians stay in business. I had absolutely no clue as to how to remove/install a dishwasher and after this I feel 100% confident I can easily knock it out. Thanks for the video
Thanks for commenting and watching! I think it's the actual doing and executing on the project. If someone is ambitious enough, they can figure it out and get it right. Otherwise if they want it done, but have someone else do it for them, that's where the trade businesses thrive.
Thank you for this video. It gave me the confidence to replace my own dishwasher.
That's great news! Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Didn’t need to wait for the install guys anymore.
You are welcome!! Thanks for watching and commenting! Hopefully saved you some money
Thanks Colton! This really helped. Followed every steps and just successfully replaced my dishwasher.
Woo hoo!!! I'd call that a win! I'm so glad Rothmans406!!! Easy right? Congrats on the project completion.
@@ColtonCrumpDIY Totally! The new dishwasher has been sitting in the garage for over a month. I saw your video today and it gave me the confidence I needed. About 2hrs later, project completed and the family is happy! As a new subscriber, I'll definitely be checking out more of your videos. Thanks again for sharing!
@@Rothmans406 I love it!!! If my videos don't help anyone else and this was the only thing I got out of making them, I'd be satisfied. Thanks for watching! I appreciate the support! More videos to come. :)
Incredibly well done. Thank you!!
Thank you for an easy to follow and straightforward tutorial! Made installing the new dishwasher a breeze.
Thank you for sharing that this was helpful! Appreciate it! Thanks for watching and glad it helped
Very nicely put together and very helpful! Thanks my friend!
Thanks David!! Appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching!
I will be attempting to install my new dishwasher today. I hope all goes well. I wanted to watch first to see how difficult this will be. Seems easy to follow. Thank you!
You are welcome! Not all dishwashers are exactly the same but this demonstration can be followed fairly closely and the principles are generally the same. Best of luck! Let me know how it goes! Thanks for watching and commenting
It's been 10 years since we installed the current dishwasher. SOOOO it was great to review "HOW to DO's". Saving us $169! Hoping my husbands back can take it once again--OR it will all be my fault. lol
He's got this! Haha best of luck! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Simply amazing video! I normally don’t comment but I had to let you know that I enjoyed it. Thanks
Thank you!!! I appreciate the watch and comment! 😀
This was really well done. I suspected it would be super easy to change a dishwasher. Appreciate the tutorial and validation.

Thank you!! Appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Great thanks for the informative video
You're welcome! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks. To the point and humorous.
Thanks for watching and the compliment!
Home Depot wants $250 to put in a new one. The installer told me he had to open up the wall and replace all the copper pipes so they're up to code. Get the hell out of my house!
For 250, I’d let him do all that work lol
Outstanding, Colton!
Thanks so much!
My pleasure! Thank you so much!!
watched tons of these videos and this is the only one that i can follow...thank you so much!!
Sadie you are welcome! Glad this helped! Appreciate your comment and watching! Have a great night/day!
Thank you sooooo much... I am a single mom and me and my kids don't know the first thing about installing appliances... This video was a life saver... But I must admit it was SUPER hard... The old dish washer was outdated and everything was difficult to take off...
Nice job!! Every dishwasher is different but this is the jist of what needs to happen. So glad this helped. Kudos to you doing something that could be intimidating to others!! Woo! You did it!
It is encouraging to see that people have made this happen. My hubby ordered it fast enough but now it's just sitting there. So I need to take a breath and get this done. I'm not particularly mechanically minded but I can follow directions and copy. Here's hoping I can find the tools I need in the hoarder shed. 🎉
@BobbiGail you got this. Take it one step at a time. I know I go fast but pause it, go back, re watch, and next thing you know you'll be done. Maybe 2 to 3 hours, but you got this!!
This video is great, easy to understand and pretty funny at that
We're going to get someone else to do it because we're afraid we'll destroy something but this is still an amazing video liked and subbed!
Thanks haha! Appreciate the watch and comment and especially the sub! I'll be pumping out more content soon!
Great directions and explanation. Bravo!
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Got it, easy-peasy. My issue was I didn't know if the new water inlet attachment needed teflon or not. I seen it doesn't, thanks. Wonderful video and great commentary.
Thank you thank you! Glad this helped. Thanks for watching and mentioning it helped. 🤙
Great video thank you for sharing this wonderful video with us
Thanks for watching Abtsam Roobe!
Step by step installed mine with this! Thanks!
Woo!! Glad it helped! Thanks for watching and commenting. You enjoy that new dishwasher haha
concise and straightforward. excellent video.
Thanks James!
Great video, but always make sure you just turn your hot water valve off to the whole house , cause in most houses and all older houses the shut off valve isn’t just under the sink, in my case I just about flooded the kitchen and sent a significant amount of water to the basement. Cleaning it up as we speak. Just be safe and turn it all off.
Great tip! Thanks Ben! Everyone listen to Ben!!! ^^
Thank you Colten. Fun and very informative video.
