- This one even surprised us! But a generous dollop of a secret ingredient (mayonnaise) in the cake mix makes the lightest and fluffiest sponge ever! Combined with the flavours of banana and cardamom it's a definite winner. To make it FridgeCam material we bung it in a monkey cake tin and dress barry up in a very special outfit!

Barry's the most pissed off looking banana ever. Love it.
"Yeah what the hell" - A moment where Ben just gives up.
Literally first time I've heard him swear out of every video I've watched 😂
Okay, so here's the story on how I made the fluffiest pancake I ever made.
So I woke up this morning craving for pancakes. Who doesn't? Anyways, so I went to the kitchen prepped all the things I need and whoop de doo, there's no eggs. Ouch. So I gave up. I started watching youtube and I saw this vid on my recommended list. I watched it and saw them using mayonnaise as a substitute for eggs. Well, hell yeah it made sense coz mayonnaise is just eggs and oil mixed together, so I decided to go for it. Ive got nothing to lose anyways and Im hungry af. So I went with the usual pancake recipe, without the oil and egg ofcourse. Everything was going well and then the thing happened. I was about to put baking powder in the batter when the canister slipped my hands and fell in the bowl. Baking powder everywhere! I thought that my pancake was ruined coz there's like 3 or 4 times more baking powder in it than what is supposed to be. But I still pushed on, because Im really, really hungry already. I put it in the pan and cooked it as usual. And when I say these things lift, they really friggin lift bruh! They literally doubled in size! So after cooking everything, I tried it and it really melts in your mouth! I dont even know how it happened! is it because of the mayo or the baking powder? i dont know! Its like sponge cake! The good thing is that you can barely taste the baking powder. That, and I am hungry no more. So, yeah. That's it. Thank you sorted for this video! :D
sprig of mint!
I'd like to see Ben try and bake fear into a cake
This cake would be great for kids, maybe Ben should make it again for Tyrone on his birthday!
hoping to see you guys more in the US! :)
This recipe saved me the other day. We had a potluck and I didn't have any eggs (or very much other stuff for that matter) but I had everything for this. Everyone loved it! I added dark chocolate chips to the batter and made cream cheese frosting.
Wot now?! Wot now!? Wot!?, Wot now!?
Dude taking a bite on the banana cake..priceless, I'm glad he liked it in the end. :)
I cants believe Barry passed up the opportunity to tell Ben "this sssh, is bananas B A N A N A S" while Ben is adding weird ingredients 🐒🍌
The best banana cake I've ever made/tasted! I doubled the recipe, added an extra banana, halved the mayo, 100grams less of sugar, dark chocolate on the top and it was perfect! Amazing!
ben:*puts in a teaspoon of mayonnaise*
ben:followed by a table spoon of mayonnaise
*ben:puts in tablespoon of mayonnaise*
me:followed by THE ENTIRE DAMNED THING OF MAYONNAISE!
I hear you Barry, with the banana thing! I used to really hate them, but I did get used to them. I will always choose another fruit over banana though, still not my favourite. I have had it in cake and then it's not too bad but I don't want more than one slice generally.
Chocolate courgette muffins! I've had them before, you can barely taste the courgette and they have a lovely fudge-y texture :D
Here in Bordeaux we make savory cakes with olives, lardons, duck gizzards, diced ham... Delicious for apéritif or for a picnic lunch.
Pinto Bean cake!!! My grandmother use to make the chocolate cake made out of pinto beans!!! Can you do it?? You know you wanna do it!
that is the most humorous cooking show in you tube. the banana suit and the expression of Barry is to die for. it is priceless!!!!omg that is super funny i cant evennnnn
"Are you gonna add the whole thing in?"
"Yeah why not." I died 😂
I love my mom's rose geranium cake. Uses powdered sugar infused with leaves from the plant in the frosting, and the cake.
Try a Russian cake called "smetanik". It's has a sour cream filling I love it.
Also use dried prunes and some shredded peanuts in the filling. With every layer of filling do a chocolate coating. Make a few layers. Cake should be about 3 inches tall. Top it off with a chocolate layer and sprinkle some peanuts. Yummm
I keep replaying the part where Barry says "Thanks Miiiiikkkkeeee." It's just his face and the way he said, i find it so entertaining.
And me!! And I don't know why😂😂😂
I was having a bad day until I got home from work, went on my usual rampade of youtube anf saw a video by my favourite food channel, involving my favourite fruit and my favourite animal that is hilarious and interesting. Thank you for making my day better like you always do. I love you guys.
the perfect cooking channel :) you guys are really great and inventive ! "Bonjour" from France :)
LOL. I almost snorted coffee out my nose to the costume and Barry's face in the banana.
A tofu or wasabi cake! Maybe both?
Avocado can pretty much go in anything. I love it. I made a vegan chocolate mousse and it was AMAZING!
"Are you havin' a giraffe?" Is this some sort of weird British saying???
It's rhyming cockney slang, it means are you having a laugh! :)
Thank you!! :)
Try using quinoa in the place of flour. It's gluten free and much higher in protein. Just cook it then, pulse in the food processor. It's delicious in chocolate cake!
Chilli and chocolate cake would be great!
Ben gradually adding the mayo but ended up dumping it all in the batter is too funny! Woot for finally being the bully instead of the bullied! Good to know that Tyrone's dad sticks up for himself once in a while :)
My son would like you to try a lasagne cake please.
Chocolate beetroot cake is one of my family's favourite, we put a raspberry and cream cheese frosting on it (you stick a handful of raspberries into the normal cream cheese frosting) It's some weird ingredients but totally works!
Chocolate cake made with red beets, very good
I wish I could become a member of the Sorted Food team; trying lots of recipes, bullying everyone, talking into fridges, getting bullied and meeting awesome people. Sounds like a dream. You guys are amazing!
i've got a friend who accidentally put "mixed herbs" in a cake... so like, basil, oregano, the lot. try and make something with those kinds of herbs lol.
i honestly get a rush when i see a new sorted food video. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO! I love you guys. Love from Shanghai.
the bit in the beginning made me laugh my head off
Sour Cream doughnuts are amazing. I avoided them for years and accidentally ate one to find out it was so delicious... kind of like a rich and super soft texture (french vanilla flavour)
You guys should make a Marmite cake!!!!!!! That would be sooooo good!!!!!
Whole clementines. Skin and all. Ground almonds as well. It's amazing.
You should put pepper, or spinach. It actually got that from a japanese anime about patisseries, and well someone made a spinach cake to fool kids. Or maybe asparagus or some veggies that aren't liked
My aunt puts prunes into chocolate cake! (and also coffee powder, but that's not that unusual) It keeps the cake really really moist and also brings out the chocolate flavour! :D
3:36 Barry, you look A-DO-RA-BLE
The little cameo in Grace's Fri-diary was the best ever.
this is sooooo good ❤
ketchup cake is really good! it is super moist and fluffy
red chilli choco cake!
My family puts mayonnaise in our cakes, it makes it really moist. We first heard about doing it cause of the chocolate cake at Portillo's in Illinois. (they put mayo in their cake there)
Barry looks so cute. :((
Even before this video I've been putting mayo in my cakes and cupcakes! It really does make it super moist and yummy!
Barry, where did the hatred for bananas come from? :O
I love how, at 4:02, Barry tries to push out his biceps to make them look bigger while crossing his arms. Everyone knows that trick, my friend. You're not fooling anyone. Love and accept your twiggy arms for what they are!
I feel you Barry, I absolutely hate bananas. The consistency, the taste, everything. So gross
This was really nice.Banana cake's one of my fav. .., even banana bread for that matter..its more or less the same. The mayonnaise do definitely add the required moistness to it. Also the cardamon powder needs to be only using seeds for grt flavour.... i would definitely add some nuts to it.I love nuts...A variation to this could be adding zucchini or even few chunks of ur fav. choc.
Can you do a orange chocolate and vanilla three layered cupcake? I tried them at home and they taste so good!!
I had a very similar dream about Barry....except it wasn't bananas.
me and a friend tried chocolate cake with cauliflower soup and it's really good! you should try it sometime (it was in school and we had soup for lunch and chocolate cake and she accidentally had soup on her spoon when trying the cake and really liked it )
Awwwww the cake is cute
I put Vinegar in Cream cheese filling baked inside of chocolate brownies. It goes reeeaaally well with the chocolate, you wouldnt taste it but it just makes it more interesting :)
i wanna see a mustard cake..
Go to Portillos and get the Cake Shake. They put a whole slice of cake in a chocolate shake. This relates to the video because they make their cake with mayonnaise. Its super rich!
Put Barry into a cake... he's unusual...
Not too weird, but I always add a tablespoon of yoghurt (natural/greek) into my cake mix, it makes it really moist and last much longer without going stale! x
I'm with Baz, I don't like bananas
I have used chili and black pepper in chocolate puds before. Vinegar in chocolate cakes is common, too.
Umm, I don't really know what to say😐 you guys make a great team: funny, funny, funny and more funny😁
My mom puts parsley in one of her cakes, it turns into a green cake covered in chocolate glaze. Delicious
I came just to hear Ben say, "Bananas." Don't know why...
CatherineAnn923 😏😏😏😏
What?! He's cute! LOL
My sister made cinnamon muffins with squash/zucchini in it. It held the moisture in them so well and they turned out spongyy and fluffyyy ^_^
Put bens red shorts in a cake lol
I once did "onion cake" with the inspiration from "carrot cake". It was actually quite sweet and not bad!....
Props to you Barry, if my friends tried to get me to eat AND wear the food item I loathe the most in the world, I wouldn't let them…I'd probably kill them first to be honest.
+kimmmm01 He's a good sport.
chilli powder! I tried it once in a fruit cobbler and it was quite good! (I thought it was cinnamon because things weren't labeled)
I only have a Ninja Turtle pan and a Mario pan :/
My favorite cake as a kid was chocolate mayonnaise cake. It makes the cake super moist and delicious.
The banana in the tea is so incredibly pornographic...I don't know if I'm grossed out or a little turned on...WHY MUST YOU BOYS CONFUSE ME SO?! ;P
Comment of the week! Well you get my vote
Aww thank you, sugar!! You're a peach!
Yay for mike who finally made it out of England!!! Now you better still be on LA so we can hang out.... I love you mike
omg this is too funny lolol WATCH THIS

Jaime Jacob never miiindd. If u dont get it u dont get it. Explaining it will only takr away the humor :)
alright be that way ..... sommmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeoooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeee woke up on the wrong side of the bed
This has to be my favourite episode ever.
We did the cupcake challenge on our channel, (like the smoothie challenge) and one us got mayonnaise in our cupcakes and they were the lightest and fluffiest cupcakes ever!! Can't wait to try this recipe out :)
You can try to put avocado in a cake, I've heard that it's a great substitute for butter!
Portillo's in Chicago makes the greatest chocolate cake in the world, and they use mayonnaise. Surprisingly awesome addition.
Yogurt works great as a fat substitute in cakes! It makes the finished product extremely moist and can add flavor depending on what kind of yogurt you use!
I'm so jealous of the weather! And American food! And shopping! And everything! I'm just so jealous of you right now.
I LOVE SORTED FOOD! You guys are so addictive!
I'm crying. X'D I'm not a big fan of bananas either, but I'm forced to eat them for health benefits. This is by far one of my favorite episodes. Barry isn't monkeying around with this banana craze. XD
When Barry and Jamie were sitting outside with their dark glasses on I couldn't help but notice a resemblance to The Blues Brothers. Jamie would make a great John Belushi...in a good way!
I'm just about to watch this video, but already dead by the cuteness !
nice cake =) The monkey is so cute!
You guys are great! One of the weirdest things I have used, making my brother's birthday cake last year was a white cake with green jello filling and iced with whipped cream. It turned out well and tasted great!
Thanks for another great video! Cheers =)
I'm exactly like Barry throughout the video when it comes to bananas. Only without the positive end 😂
Hahahaha you rock guys, you really rock lol
The best cooking and entertainment channel EVER lol
I thoroughly enjoy the fact that this video ends on the line "It's completely inappropriate." Seems rather fitting.
When is there going to be another Sorted Bloopers!?
Chocolate zucchini bread isso yummy my mom use to make it a lot when I was little! It would be amazing to see it made on here!
Tofu cheese cake!!!!! Seriously, it's awesome. That or avocado instead of buttercream icing on chocolate cupcakes. It has a gorgeous creamy texture (without the slightly gross mouthfeel that buttercream can have) and looks totally weird/cool.
Ben:
>Sees Barry and Jaime moving the fridge
>is mildly annoyed
>ignores
My favourite carrot cake has crushed pineapple and coconut and chocolate cake has sour cream. Both are from the silver palate cookbook which are the bibles of my childhood kitchen.
Barry in a banana suit. All I could think of was "Peanut butter jelly time! Peanut butter jelly Time!"
We added soft drink as kids when baking bread. It turned out super tasty!
