Super useful video, thank you. I got the Scale75 full set of artistic colors and there are not many videos specifically to it :) I will do a color wheel now to practice
I am so glad you found the video useful! The colour wheel is good for not only beginners but also seasoned painters to remind themselves of how colours behave. It will give you much better control and understanding when using your full set. I will be adding more tutorials on Scale75 paints to this playlist: ruclips.net/video/9cdtY7PU7As/видео.html
Fantastic tutorial, I have not learnt any of that before and will now see if I can use this in my weathering and highlighting effects along with rust effects. Well done :)
This basic set is my only real gripe with Scale75. For paint mixing they should have gone with Cyan, Yellow and Magenta. There are so many more colors and more vibrant versions of the colors shown here to be mixed with CYM including hot pinks, magentas, much more vibrant greens, oranges and purples and more shades of those colors as well. The kind of not great greens, purple, orange and brown are perfect reasons why the grade school Red, Yellow, Blue is a bad choice for mixing paint. This set is still worthwhile as the blue is a passable Cyan and the yellow isn't bad although the Intense Yellow in the Artist range is better for mixing. Their Magenta is amazing. Add that to this set in place of that red and it would be more useful. You can mix all the more muted tones from CYM that RYB make but also the more vibrant. Even having to add Magenta as an add on thought this little set is worth it. Still a limited palette but a much bigger pool of possibilities.
As a basic set I think this is still a great combination to learn colour theory with. As you realise you would like mixing other colours you can add to the set. To me that is natural progression and a great learning journey.
It bothers me immensly that there is no proper cyan in the artist range. There is one in the Abteilung 502 acrylics range, but that one is a mix of 3 pigments which isn't great either.
