Thanks! Steam Deck vs ROG Ally...that's a tough one. You can play more games out the box with the Ally (Xbox Game Pass, EPIC Games Stores, etc.). But the SD OLED is competitively priced and things that held back the OG SD, valve fixed it. 🤔 I'm a bit torn with this one.
Dude. Your channel is one of my favorites to watch on RUclips. Every video is a banger. You don't over upload so i never get tired of watching, and i always look forward to your next video. It always seems like it's a topic that i find interesting to watch. I haven't missed an upload for years. I hope you had a good turkey day. Keep up the good work, brotha.✌️
Thanks, bro! I really appreciate it. It means a lot to me to have viewers like you that really enjoy my content. I'm grateful. I enjoyed my turkey day. Had a lot to eat with leftovers inbound today. 😂 I hope you enjoyed your turkey day and got some good food (gaming too). I'm gonna keep the vids coming.😊
I bought the steam deck when it came out. Then I got the OLED switch. After that I didn’t play the steam deck because the screen was so much worse. So as soon as the OLED deck got announced I sold the old one to get the new version. Can’t wait for it to arrive!
Sell the old one and anything you have that cna make that money if you want one. All I can say enjoy the little things and take one day at time you just love life and thing around you. Have a good one
This is the first video where I can truly see how big of a difference is. Are you using the boosted sRGB feature recently added in steamOS in this video?
Got mine yesterday its perfect handheld device, screen is amazing and massive. Text is so easy too read just need to learn the controls and adjust them to my needs. Feels so light at first but does get heavy after a hour in my small hands and with so many buttons gets confusing but it's only been a few hours testing it out, never owned a handheld before Im use to PC mouse and keyboard. Definitely worth the £479 here in the UK, will upgrade the SSD to the biggest one that can fit later.
The Steam Deck OLED is very light when comparing it to the older model. This is a great first hand held for you. What a way to just dive in. Glad you're enjoying it.😁
I think this is what the original steam deck was supposed to be but they had to make sure there was a market for it since if you look inside it seems more custom dedicated parts while the lcd seems like self parts with less form fitting just my guess! The main parts I’m talking about is the heat sync and fan seems more solid pressed and fitted while the lcd is somewhat loser.
Very nice video. You surprised us with the quick Legion Go comparison at the end. I needed that. I've been sitting on both of these devices and can't decide which one to keep. The OLED screen of the deck is very nice, but the power and Windows 11 OS of the Legion Go allows me to play more games. You said it best. If the Legion Go had a OLED screen it would be a no brainer.
Thanks! I'm going to keep both. The Steam Deck OLED is amazing. The ultimate way to game on the deck. But as you mentioned, the Legion Go has the power along with Windows 11 to play more games. Not to mention, the screen on the Legion Go looks REALLY good up against the SD OLED.
Excellent unboxing vid, and the comparison was fantastic! Appreciate you showcasing a handful of games as well - definitely looking up Jitsu Squad. If I wasn't sold before, I am now. Not getting any younger so I won't downplay a larger screen, and that OLED is CRISP!
Thanks! Someone mentioned that Jitsu Squad is free on EPIC game store. But either way, it's an excellent game. Definitely worth checking out. OLED looks amazing in person.
Only thing I miss about the old carry case is that little flap inside that helps you get the system out, apart from that the OLED is dope! Also, this is the first video I’ve seen that actually shows the difference between the two, especially on the black parts
@@dthomasfromnc haha this is true! Got mine yesterday and couldn’t believe how good the screen is (amongst all the other upgrades), definitely worth the loss of a bit of fabric 😂
The OG 512GB Steam Deck is good for what it offers. But Valve knocked it out the park with the OLED. You don't necessarily NEED the OLED. But if you WANT it, and can sell your OG SD, I'd say go for it. Beefier specs, better battery, 90Hz, OLED screen...I mean, you can't go wrong. Steam Deck 2 may come 2024 or 2025. Let's just say, you wouldn't be disappointed with the OLED upgrade.
I have and LCD and now a OLED for me I went for this because of my eye issue it hard to see the colors at time and this new version helps me, but you get more then just OLED, you get battery, lag it better, the touch screen is faster and downlaods, The spund is betetr too it nto as load as before and if you had any special thgin from the old on you cna use them on the enw which si plus. Ever the cases and grips fit the enw one which is nice and nto wasted money. If you want one I woudl get one have a great gift for you and enjoy it. Hope that helps
Deck2 will come out late 2025 or sometime in 2026. You are better off selling your lcd model and get the oled. Then sell the oled when deck2 comes out.
I was actually able to use the OLED boot screen & OLED keyboard on my OG Steam Deck. I mean, you can tell it's not OLED, obviously. Other than that, I don't recall another update to the OG.
Cool video! I should get my Limited Edition OLED tomorrow, I have the 512gb OG Steam deck. I can't wait to get it and compare it also. Happy Thanksgiving! 👍🏿
Yo DThomas!!! The new OLED Steamdeck looks beautiful! The screen is a system seller for sure. Now add better battery, buttons, joysticks, thumb pads, fan, WiFi, and speed and you got a winner on your hands! Maybe I will get one… still debating. Anyway, fire video! Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family!!! 🦃
Wolfman, believe me when I tell you, it's just as beautiful in person as it is on camera. Actually, the camera is probably not doing it any justice. I don't thinknyoud be disappointed by any means. Happy Thanksgiving to you and the fam as well. Now go and get your OLED.😅
Look nice which i have said to other videos but think i am good with what I got I went for the Oled 512 version which I own refub 512 LCD worth the money and don't think i regret it, I might still pick a limited one but maybe they will come out with anoither color liek purple. Also question or questions did you upgrade the old oen SSD and what tools hits wdo you sue and what ubs thing to sue too, and if you have install gamepass did you ahve any issue wth the controller part, ANyways goodreview abd hope you enjoy the enw deck too
What tools do you sue and what usb did you se for it, i am trying to get information what i need to upgrade my oled too, look at ssd might just go to 1tb but ave no clue what i need in tools and drive thing@@dthomasfromnc
i dont get why anyone would buy these handhelds, whats the point spending 500+ on something that can only run most games at 30-40fps on low settings, you might aswel buy a psp for 40.
These handheld PC's run games at a higher frame rate of 30-40. It all depends on the game. The Witcher 3, I'm clocked well over 60 fps. Being able to play that type of triple A game on the go is nothing short of amazing. You can't take a PS5 or Series X with you and play on the bus or plane. They do have their advantages.
Best video on RUclips showing the differences in screen quality between the LCD and OLED model
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

Nice! The camera really doesn't do it any justice.
Gave a thumbs up in first 5 seconds just for the t-shirt 😅
Happy gaming!

Sold my old one and bought the OLED it’s SO much nicer.
That's awesome! Pretty much the same thing I'm doing.
Is it true that 30fps games look a lot smooth on the 90 hz screen and it has a lot less input lag?
I'd think so. I recently played Robocop Rogue City and it appeared to be running great.
Thumbs up if you love what Valve did with the Steam Deck OLED👍🏼
Vakve?? 😂
@@Ragnar0321Oh c‘mon, really? Just a typo… 🥳
Vakve killed it with this refresh.
I'll get back to you on this once mine arrives. it was shipped a few days ago so hopefully soon.
Yeah, lemme fix that. 😁

That's awesome! Congratulations!!! You will not be disappointed.
I loved the video thank you. I was just grinding my teeth because you were covering the exaust port for the cooling for a long time on that new oled.
😂 didn't keep it covered for too long
Yeah only buy the LCD Steam Deck if dirt cheap like 50% off retail price or less.
That's not a bad option

The Rog Ally is amazing in its own right. I just have an issue with my sd card slot. It doesn't work. But it's an amazing device.
