It doesn't really spoil anything. If you don't know about the ending to the original game (somehow), you'd have no idea what this means. It's only because they know the ending to the original game that they know what it means.
I would argue that the scenario around Aerith's death is more a spoiler than her death itself. Aerith dying is one of the most well-know things in video game history. But yeah, I totally agree. Man's just blurted it out lmao

Though it could be Cloud and Zack taking Clouds spot in game so Cloud and Aerith are never together but i hope its not this route cause Cloud and Aerith deserve their happy ending.
I believe it's because the White Materia is smaller then most normal Materia. Like the Black Materia is bigger then most. . .at least from my understanding. It makes sense since that part of the bow isn't big to hold the ones we've seen given to Cloud.
While that seems to be a possibility, I hope they'll not do that. Aerith's Death was integral to the impact of FFVII's story. What I am hoping however is Zack's involvement to Cloud's recovery from his coma. Heck, they could even surround Zack's death on regaining Cloud's true memories. In the original, it seems kind of out of nowhere scenario to me. After falling from a pool off Mako, Cloud and Tifa were suddenly thrust in to this memory lane-esque world. I know for some, this is also a memorable scene since it is an eye opening moment of Cloud's past but if you look at it at a bigger picture, the execution seemed out of nowhere.
