I have the TS8000 and Brian is right. Insanely durable I too have an adapter hose to hook mine to any size bottle I want. It will run for hours and not overheat. I leave mine screwed to the bottle and I abuse the shit out of it. Leave it out in the rain, snow, for days or weeks, throw it in the back of my truck like it's a hammer fucker fires up and runs perfect every time I pull the trigger I'm very hard on equipment and this is one tool that has really really impressed me hot as shit too. Super durable. Super hot. I love it.
I put my parts on a piece of diamond steel mesh, I folded the ends down to hold it about 8 inches above my bench. It worked well because flame gets around the whole part even underneath it. I made all kinds of stuff on it. The mesh warps and moves in the middle at first but the steel gets soft and it stops doing that after it's been red hot a few times.
I have used the ts4000 and 8000 for many years. I absolutely love the 8000. It is insanely durable, you can run an entire bottle thru it in 1 session and it won't phase it. I actually hook mine up to my 100 lbs propane tank and blow glass with mine. The 8000 took center stage so instead of retiring the 4000 I bored out the center arrested and now that thing is a beast.
@@StreetWorksMediaim not super familiar with blow torches but i cant see the tank blowing up if you're using propane. unless you have some oxygen in the tank I think there'd be no problems.
The comments here are pretty funny. No need to guess what MAP-Pro is, just check their MSDS. It's ~99.5% propylene and ~0.5% propane. Compared to the blue bottle which is 0-10% propylene, and ethane and butane and propane. So it's not "just propane" as many here suggest. My favorite feature of the TS8000, over many cheap options, is that it has a regulator and can work inverted. It's not recommended but it's much less problematic. I use it to start my charcoal bbq and sear food.
I got the first one that doesn’t have a gas valve to adjust. For the longest time I never used the lock out to keep it going because I didn’t know what it did. One day I was fooling around with it and found out what it did. I thought it was handy when I wanted to use it hands free.
I have the ts8000 i use it for my wood stove to get things cooking instead of me blowing on paper and sticks and smacking my old bic lighter to get it to start. I was blowing out black shit out my nose, my eyes would burn and my house would filll with smoke. Now with a quality torch i can set the sicks on fire and it makes my life easier.
i braised aluminum no problem with the blue canister... the yellow bottle gets way too hot for aluminum. It will melt it. I believe the yellow bottle can get up to 3400°F. i't be be safer with the blue bottle. Depends how thick your aluminum is.
There does seem to be problems with the ts8000 lately with failures of the electronic start mechanism. And it is an internal failure inside the assembly. That's not a great thing.
Yep. The electronic starts always stop working after a short time. And I say always because I keep buying a new one the retuning the old one in its place. 6 in the last couple of years and that’s barely and rarely using them. Poor craftsmanship
As far as longevity for the 8000, not great. If you use it often the igniter button will wear out and fall out. Also the orifice size is extremely inconsistent from torch to torch. If you want a nice big, broad flame, get their "shrink wrap torch" and then screw the tip onto the 8000 if you want more control (the shrink wrap version is without the adjustment knob) If you find yourself using torches a lot, do yourself a favor and get one from a better brand when this one breaks. These are okay for occasional use but expensive and they just don't last. If you refill your 1lb propane bottles, make sure you use an inline filter to keep oil and other schmoo out of your torch. It'll foul it up and make your fingers stink.😂
Just an fyi, the flame on the 8000 is much larger then the 4000. In tight spaces (plumbing work), the 4k has a smaller tighter flame for sweating copper. If you need higher heat, the 8k puts out almost double the amount of gas at its highest setting in the same amount of time so it heats up the intended surface almost twice as fast as well. Each model has its uses.

The piezo-electric igniter went out on mine. I'm kind of afraid to try fixing it since the torch still works I just have to light it.
Someone might post a video showing how easy it is to fix that.
@@troytaylor1913doesnt it come with lifetime warranty?

Lmao can u please post an instructional vid???
yeah but i bet your bored t4000 blows out when inverted unless you hooked it to a wand or hose
without the arrestor wont it blow up on you?

Good illustration, really helpful. I just bought the TS4000 and didn't know the difference from the 8000. Now I know, thanks to you.

I've been in the market for one but I can't decide between the TS-8000 and the Turbotorch 504.

they say the other model is only used with propane and cannot be used on mappro but the newer torch can be used on both and idk why that is or forgot

does this work upside down? I need to burn holes in some landscape fabric.
if you look where it says model....WT2301 is stamped into the brass
also... when READING manual... it CLEARLY states the bottle is not to be used in any position greater than 60 degrees from vertical.

Keeping it real
Does it have a function to adjust the flame size?
did you not see the big knob he showed you where the flame gets adjusted from?
MAPP (5300*F) burns much hotter than MAP-Pro (3730*F) or propane (3600*F).
I've had multiple of these. The lighter falls apart on all of them after a few months. Poor quality.
FYI, the name is "BeRnzomatic", with an "R" in it, not "Benzomatic" without an "R". The "R" isn't silent.
Yes. We love project farm too!

To hot you melted it
if it stops working, learn to maintain it, clean it, adjust it, dont just throw it away.

Bernzomatic not Benzomatic
The build quality of this torch is horrendous, but is hot.
Yes.
Sharkbite? OK next video
😃👍
Is it worth the extra money?
No
Map pro is only 130 degrees hotter than propane, waste of money.
?
You don't 'weld' copper, you solder/sweat, or braze.
MAPP gas is not propane, thus it comes in a yellow bottle. Try using that little torch with the yellow bottle, and see what happens.
@@WoodgemanXMAPP gas hasn't been made since 2008. Map-pro is some knockoff that is mostly propane and not nearly as hot as the original MAPP.

Anything you buy from them from Lowe’s or Home Depot is garbage
Do where to buy it then

Jeez the first few minutes are on the torch not to buy. Smarten up dude.
