Good video. We have a small wood-mizer but when an issue comes up about blades or sawmill general stuff I always prefer Cooks educational videos.

Just weld a few tabs to keep the chain from falling off.

The wooden doors are a great feature, the steel doors I have on my mill have been engraved by many bands over the years. It's not a pleasant sound listening to a band chewing steel.
Good review on a great product.

The wooden doors are nice. They don’t look as good as the metal ones but they sure do protect the blade if it comes off. Thanks for watching and happy sawing

thank you, I have been leaning towards Cooks' but it is nice to hear from someone that owns one

Thanks for the honest review. If I should ever outgrow my manual Frontier mill, it will be replaced with a Cooks. I just can't justify the expense for an occasional use hobby mill, although that may change once word gets around that I own a mill.

Good fair review. I have always been attracted to Cooks and the build. A young man would be wise to look into Cooks

Nice sawmill setup. Like the conversion to fixed mill with concrete and like your building layout. Do you have any problems with the drive belt coming off when you engage/disengage the tension idler? Looks like you have a remote throttle control with that Perkins?

Thanks for the comment. Sometimes when disengaging the blade the belt will come off the back pulley. There is a fine line when adjusting the guides that help keep the belt on. Adjust it to much and it will wear the belt out. The cooks does have a remote station to operate the sawmill. We leave it at the operator end of the mill most of the time. But sometimes when doing custom cuts it’s nice to be able take it to the log and make adjustments. Thanks for watching
