The thing is that you forget Act is a drama/acting term for scene, which is a portion of a multimedia or general entertainment format, like a show's episode, a movie, or a play. Nightclub Act refers to a scene in a show or movie in which characters go to a nightclub, either to search for a suspect or to confront a villain, and it can also be where a dark turn occurs, like a female character getting drugged and then taken to a scrapyard where she either finds a way to escape or she contemplates whether to trade her dignity for her life or to be cubed inside a car.
