  • North Atlantic right whales are one of the world’s most endangered large whale species, with only about 450 remaining. NOAA has developed regulations for boaters and fishermen to help protect these whales from vessel collisions and entanglements.

I really hope this works - we cannot afford to make this magnificent animal extinct.

This is good progress, but it's not enough. Industrial fishing has emptied the oceans and killed countless whales. The whole system needs to change.

Maine isn’t industrial fishing it’s the most sustainable fisheries in the world and only 1 right whAle has been entangled in Maine on record. The right whales get struck by large ships because the whales lay on the surface and don’t move. But that’s corporate companies with deep pockets and u can’t stop them. So pick on Maine’s lobster industry. And other states. Change a fisheries that’s been doing everything environmentalists say to be nice. It’s going to end getting pinched and pushed with no prof Maine is killing whales. What will happen is probably it’s going to be unfair for Maine thousands to change over. Making it more dangerous and all because of no prof. Maine will tell everyone pound sand to protect the fisheries if new regulations are not practical and probably will tell NOAA off who doesn’t do their job. And Maine will win everyone goes fishing without changing to new regulations arrest them all Maine’s commissioner has been biting his lips for years over regulation with shrimp and whales. He’s going to let loose and he’s powerful 5,000 fisherman come together as one with state backing them. That’s something Washington doesn’t want coming and being a sustainable fisheries only a few of them.
