From Washington DC, the dynamic lead singer of this Motown group was Tony Washington.
He and Sylvester had A LOT in common. Tony was ahead of the industry in that regard.

Totally agree! Tony and Sylvester were like pioneers in their own way. It's awesome how Tony was ahead of the game, shaping the industry. Their impact is something special. 🎵✌️

Hey Class of '72 from TJHS in NJ! Those street corner harmonizing sessions must have been something else, huh? The nostalgia hits hard when you think back to those days and nights. What's your favorite memory from hanging out under the lights? It's crazy how those moments can stick with you. Share some stories if you're up for it! 👍

@@BruceandCarla Good evening good people, when you played "Shoe Shoe Shine" I won't lie I dropped a tear, automatically took me back to those days we would meet up before hitting one of those basement parties. We would put our change $$ together to get a bottle 🍾 of "Boones Farm strawberry hill" 😂 get our sip on then head over to E. Grand & catherine st. to assemble and start harmonizing🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤, some of the group's we would try to copy were Temprees/ Delfonics/ Blue Magic/ Escorts/ Chi-lites etc., Oh man we were so spoiled back then and we didn't even know it. Then a year after graduation I shipped out for Military service and took all those sweet memories with me all over the world 🌎!! Thanx so much for your interest in our street corner symphony nights!! P.S. We couldn't sing a lick but the wine said different!!😂😂😂 Stay safe!! #PeaceOut✌️🤜👊🤛

The Dynamic Superiors were from Washington, D. C. and recorded on Motown Records label. The songs on their first two albums were mostly written by the husband-and-wife team Ashford & Simpson. They recorded with moderate success throughout the 1970s. One of their bestselling hits was "Shoe, Shoe Shine" in 1975. They were unique in that Tony Washington was openly gay, and sometimes dressed in drag onstage.
