But it’s definitely nice to include on this list for the more common person who’s going to book a non-ultra-luxury cruise. I always have to warn my friends about that too. Now I help friends find their cruises and price them with drinks and airfare included
I took a round the world cruise for 104 days. the most unforgettable stretch was sailing thru the Gulf of Oman, approaching the Red Sea. There the Somalian pirates are active operating. There was complete black out and our cruise ship was escorted by military naval ship. Quiet an experience.
I almost got left behind one time because there was a crash on the highway when I went to Cozumel and the entire cruise was gathered on the side of the ship to wait for us and they all cheered for us when we showed up
We almost lost the ship because our tour had to drive 3 hours to get to our destination for only 15 minutes to walk around (not worth it) I started throwing up on the way and the ship was there waiting specifically for us

I was the last guy back on the ship at Cozumel. She gets on the radio: “Tell everybody Mark is back!” I got roasted by every crew member as I was boarding! 😂😂
After having cruised for many years, I can assure people that you are probably safer on a cruise ship than being on land in a resort. you just have to cruise a couple of times to learn these are not secrets but rather just a part of the way a ship runs. cruising is awesome!

Hi if you’re reading thisss... Please remember you’re beautiful 😍 and never give up, please remember that you can do everything you want to achieve in life 😊 From a smallish youtuber girl in Venezuela 🇻🇪
On my first cruise, my daughter and I took a paid tour of the ship. They showed us all of this from the jail to the crew quarters..and yes they had their own pool and hot tub! Best excursion ever!!!!
If they were on an official cruise excursion, and there was an issue getting back from it, then there is usually a guaranty that you will get back to the ship no mater what. In the rare event you were left, they may even helicopter you back to the ship, or the next port. If you leave the ship and cruise ship "Port area", and you don't make it back, you are on your own...
A shore excursion, that is booked through the cruise line, has a 100% guarantee that ship will wait. I just got off the Carnival Vista and there was a couple that was left. They were late by 50 minutes. This is why it is imperative that you wear a watch. All of our ports were one hour behind ship time.
I took a cruise on a Princess ship. We were in Monico and were all loaded into a bus to go back to ship. One of the crew members never showed up for ride back to the ship. The guides kept in touch with the captain every 15 minutes. Finally the caption told the bus driver to come back to the ship and she was left behind. The ship was late leaving port.
Just a small correction: Not every ship has a jailcell or a "brig". This is fairly old fashioned and only the older ships(from approx. pre-2000) still have these. The ships that DO still have these are not using them anymore since the laws and procedures, for detaining a passenger that has committed a criminal offence, have changed. These old brigs are now mostly used as storage lockers. Fun fact though, when you enter the storage locker, you'll often find that the walls are still padded just like an isolation cell to prevent the passenger from hurting himself/herself. Also, the alarm codenames are not correct as these can differ significantly between cruise line company policies and operating procedures. a swimming pool for crew only is rare on cruise ships since building these cost extra money and it is no legal building requirements in some countries. that is why some ships are often BUILT under a different flag than the one she is SAILING under. have a nice day:)
I worked in a navy shipyard about 1978, between the three different ships there, they had a bowling alley, barbershops, an operating room, a brig, and a big hole in the bottom where the periscope of a submarine could be raised into it for repair while underway at sea. I remember the day they tested the newly installed ice cream machine, we all got ice cream cones. My favorite day was the launching of a ship into the harbor. Lockheed Shipbuilding and construction Co in Seattle. It’s not there anymore.
I went in five cruises. Loved it. One ship was being cleaned because the prior Cruise had norovirus. So for 3 days all the food was kept under plastic and serve To Us by the crew. Felt bad for the crew those are long hours. The cruise was delayed because they were scrubbing down the ship. But after the first 3 days there is an all clear and everything resume to normal. Such is life. Some cruises include the tip in your overall fair when you pay. If you buy an Excursion on the ship Orchard being approved Excursion vendor. They might be a little more expensive but the ship will wait for you will they send someone out to retrieve you. The Titanic was a smaller ship than modern cruise ships that have two to three thousand or more passengers. They also have a heck of a lot more navigation equipment. Sure problems can occur. You can't always predict the weather. But none of that is going to stop me from taking more cruises. They're just plain fun.
I was once a subject of an "ALFA, ALFA, ALFA! Windjammer port side. It was a liquid choking situation. An anonymous cruiser rolled me over and catastrophe was averted. I thanked him profusely and bought him a drink at the pool bar. He shucked it off as a no big deal. It's amazing how fast crew was on site. Being of a certain age, they did EKG's, observations and other stuff. No observable problems. Then cleared me for my scheduled snorkeling excursion.
I spent 25 years in the Coast Guard and understand gaining weight because cruising is boring-----also the Captain had to bail several crew, who misbehaved on shore leave, out of jail before the ship could leave!
Went on a world cruise aboard my ship. No swimming pools, but it had an airport. Once, had a nightmare, the ship sailed without me. Woke up, realizing later, I was still aboard. You could also face court - martial for missing ship's movement.
I went on a cruise last week and there was a announcement at the last port that a crew member was late and if not returned within 5 mins would have to leave them behind
I went on a military 'cruise' courtesy of Uncle Sam, who sent me to Germany via U.S.N.S Geiger in 1965. Despite it being a no-frills trip to Europe for an 18-month assignment to an installation in Bavaria, I enjoyed it. It was an unique experience. For that reason, now that I'm retired, I'd love to return to Europe now via the Queen Mary II. As for cruising the Caribbean or taking one of those Alaskan cruises up the west coast, no thank you. Going to sea just to go to sea doesn't really toot my whistle.
definitely agree with number nine! we had a specialty dinner one night and were so friendly with out waiter, he spent almost the entire time talking to us and he really enjoyed answering our questions about the ship. at the end, he invited us to come back for about 50% off! and we did and had the amazing specialty meal again
I did not gain weight because I only picked healthy options from the buffet, took the stairs every time, walked the decks and ate only small portions. I don't drink and no sugary drinks.
Sarah Fletcher what does bravo bravo bravo and alpha alpha alpha mean then I just went on a cruise and was hearing it all night from the Captain and he was checking rooms
I've worked for 3 cruise lines. I have heard all those codes. They can vary from company to company. Also, yes, by law, all ships have a brig and morgue but only a few crew ever get to see them or even know about them.
Video is well made, but the facts are all over the place. E.g. ships will wait for you if you book your onshore excursion through the ship. Norovirus is a hygiene Issue, use the hand cleaner dispenser provided at the entrance to the dining room. Front of the ship ? On what deck ? Crew quarters are usually on the bottom of the ship, decks 2 or 3. Etc.
Out of 8 on a cruise, 2 of us were germaphobes. We washed, used antibacterial hand wash wherever presented & we were the only ones of that dirty group that got sick. The whole ship got sick except for those filthy six men! Sorry Bob, what you should have said is: do not touch stair railing, chair sides or rails, door handles, etc, etc, etc.!

😂😂 I have worked on numerous cruise companies and have yet to see the crew jacuzzi....you may find a pool on some(newer ships) but certainly no jacuzzi😂
disclaimer if u book a shore excursion on board and arrive late your ship will not leave u behind since it is illegal for them to do so since it was booked and monitored by the cruise lines
I caught Typhoid on a Viking cruise in the middle east and was kicked off the ship halfway through the cruise in Sri Lanka for 2 weeks in the hospital there. Get your shots! Do not skip! Go to every pharmacy in town if need be. I got some money back via travel insurance but would much rather not have gotten sick, and seen the rest of the ports.
I had a norovirus infection about ten years back. Turns out that treated right, they're nothing special, unless I had a very mild case. I basically drank a lot of water and ate nothing, meaning the diarrhoea had nothing to work with, and there was nothing to puke up. So I was fresh as a daisy while sick. Just took my medicine, and that was that.
Caution always adviseable, ships amazing as are 24 hour offerings but not always safe as they may seem and policing aid, if needed, may be totally lacking. Fab but not like home in many respects.
Most ships DO NOT have a jail on board any longer. You get confined to your cabin with security posted outside 24/7 until you are escorted off of the vessel by local authorities at the next port of call.
There is a morgue. Crew members can NOT bring passengers into a crew area without staff captain approval. Otherwise, you get fired immediately. You might as well pack your bags before the night is over...
I went on Carnival Conquest docked in Fort Lauderdale and we kept seeing workers at night go through a staff only door through the arcade. They would come out with drinks and laughing with other members, they have a full on night club when half of the ship is sleep.
I knew alot of these secrets not from crusing because I never been on one before but I will for the first time next year. But I knew from watching war movies and pirate movies lol
my dad is Chatty Cathy once we went on vacation and he was such good friends with the drink and food bar people he could just walk in and change the music!!!!!!!!
On most cruises you have to pay for the spa and the excursions, no surprise, really. Not exactly a secret. It's in the booking details. The secret is that the "onboard spend" allowance is to tempt you into the spa. The nearest to all-inclusive that I have found at normal prices is Marella, they include tips. P&O broadcast the location of adult-only areas over the PA and include this information in the "Welcome" booklet. Their secret code for man overboard is that everybody shouts "man overboard" and it's on the PA. I have never been on a cruise where passengers are allowed in crew areas, the crew know they will be sacked. Don't even try it.
A cruise can be all inclusive. You do not have to spend any additional money, take an excursion or eat at a speciality restaurant. It is just more fun if you do. Best cruise destination is ..... Bermuda. 🇧🇲
Been in sales to cruise ship passengers for 20 years or so and the part about the ship leaving you although true is just BS to get you to by the higher priced ship tours. In Alaska most of the tours they contract with are local company's that sell there trip for way less than the ship most of the time it is up to 20 to 30% more. Please read the back of the ticket you get from the ship. I have and they do not 100% guarantee they will wait for you it all comes down to the ships captian, whether or not he will except not receiving his on time bonus.. I have seen this happen...Selling tours that are local and not jacked up in price is what my paycheck is funded by. There is no private company that wants to make you miss your ship that is just bad business.
There are all inclusive cruise ships. They are super expensive though. Tips are paid as gratuity and you can prepay those about 100.00 per person for the week.
Yes. Befriend the crew members. You can get invited to crew only partys or go to the lower decks. I mean. You shouldn't get caught but still. You will have nice connections.
I’ve cruised on Royal Caribbean and always enjoyed myself except for one incident where $200 was stolen from my cabin where my girlfriend left the cash in her night stand drawer. This was after I warned her to always keep valuables locked in safe at all times. Do girlfriends ever listen? I guess not. But when I reported it and had the time frame in which it happen down to a 15 minute window, I wanted to know who entered my cabin during that time, since all that is recorded electronically. Royal Caribbean wouldn’t do anything to help me or determine who entered my cabin at that time! They refused to do any kind of investigation. So be careful. If you are the victim of a crime by a crew member, they are going to protect the crew member. Not you! They are ruthless in protecting their image and your on the high seas where, quite literally, anything goes and you have no defenses or even a cop to call. So at the end of the cruise at tip the housekeeping staff time, I just left a note saying, “One of your co-workers stole $200 from this room, which was YOUR tip money.” So I was able to recover from that theft, by shorting the crew that stole it from me. Some satisfaction at least. I hope they took it out on the low life who did it. I put in the exact time it happened, so the honest crew members could figure out who was responsible and hopefully recover something too. And a lesson that theft costs everybody and not worth it.
My son caught gastro our last night on the cruise. It was terrible but it only lasted four days. I also kinda felt that we were lucky because some people caught it at the beginning of the cruise and I couldn't imagine my son not enjoying himself, or wasting all that money, by being sick at the beginning of a 8 day cruise.
For the cruise I went on, a women went overboard and they legit just said over the loud speaker man overboard Portside. Keep in mind I’m twelve and knew exactly what this meant and I was completely calm. I think having secret codes isn’t good because people on board could help the person overboard even though there isn’t a huge chance of surviving.
Hi love your sense of humor I've been on numerous cruise actually I'm about to go on my 4th Walking Dead Cruise it's the finale I believe it or not even with my first cruise I knew all of those things that you were talking about there was nothing secret to me I was well aware but thanks for the info it's nice to know that I knew those things looking forward to your next ones :-) have a good one
As an experienced crew member (8 contracts, 8 ships, with 3 different lines) I can tell you unequivocally that you will never be invited by a crew member into a crew only area, crew drinks are more than a dollar, and there is no pool or hot tub for crew only.
Another thing to add is that if a staff member is late back on to the ship (after when they are told) they are never allowed back off the ship, for the whole time that they work with that cruise company
Yeah but the thing is i got sea sick after the first 2 days but was okay when we landed but when we got back on i was seasick again until the last 2 days. Also today I just dreamt about going on a cruise lol and in my dream I saw some small stingrays and thinking about how about I wasnt sick😂 I want to go on a cruise again but i dont wanna get sick. I didnt have any medicine at that time so maybe if i took medicine next time i go if i want to
You forgot that all cruise ships have rats in them, most of the staff would not consider eating at the buffets as they see the production of the food, and there is ALWAYS some broken that is one step away from causing a MAJOR emergency on every ship.

Go to every pharmacy in town if need be. I got some money back via travel insurance but would much rather not have gotten sick, and seen the rest of the ports.
No secret surprised me lol. My dad is a captain we watched this together! Love your channel
When my daughter is not in our stateroom I know she went for pizza in the windjammer at the Oasis of the Seas.
Robert Magbanua ayyyeee windjammer is amazing
Caution always adviseable, ships amazing as are 24 hour offerings but not always safe as they may seem and policing aid, if needed, may be totally lacking. Fab but not like home in many respects.
Most ships DO NOT have a jail on board any longer. You get confined to your cabin with security posted outside 24/7 until you are escorted off of the vessel by local authorities at the next port of call.
There is a morgue.
Crew members can NOT bring passengers into a crew area without staff captain approval. Otherwise, you get fired immediately. You might as well pack your bags before the night is over...
I just want to know what's the number all about in the thumbnail. *Sigh* another clickbait😕
Me too!!
Nice video! I subscribed!

Not luxury lines like Regent Seven Seas.
A cruise can be all inclusive. You do not have to spend any additional money, take an excursion or eat at a speciality restaurant. It is just more fun if you do.
Best cruise destination is ..... Bermuda. 🇧🇲
Nice Video....keep adding things like this manh..
What's the code for ICEBERG RIGHT AHEAD? Just asking LOL
Ice ice ice
Code word....Titanic. Oh... Might be too transparent....ice?
I been on 2 cruises.the staff on them were very nice and the food was good. Only thing was I wanted to go on more of them.
Liked this but I think you killed my love of cruises! 😂
I'm literally going on a cruise in two days, thank you for this!
Bright Side I think it's on top 10 most interesting YT channels :) This video was just good fun!
I love your videos 👍
I went on a carnival Cruise Line last year and made a friend out of the bartender
Carnival is amazing.

@@derbyjr i worked on Carnival 😋😋😜😜 cough.... Best time i ever had
Tips are paid as gratuity and you can prepay those about 100.00 per person for the week.
leemah beemah i go on all inclusive every time with ncl.. not expensive at all.
Right, he said about 10 pp per day, I wish... lol
Just went on ncl rip-off all extra fees
#2 really hit different nowadays
I had a friend who ate so much that he had to be hospitalised for killing his gallbladder. No kidding that's what to doctor told him!!!!!!!
Ill press the like because i like your efort for vidios
My daughter & i are going on a cruise later this year!! This post was ineresting: i'm going to take LOTS of clorox wipes..!! 😁👣
And don't forget, one large can of Laysol!!!!
Chris Jericho's cruise roh vs. TNA vs. njpw. Kenny Omega and Cody. We are ALL IN.
On a cruise now. Carnival Breeze 😊🙂
kevin2010ss I’ll be on that one in august!
I would just like to state, that fires onboard cruise ships are really uncommon. They have some of the best damage control teams in the world.
This was really interesting and cool
For the cruise I went on, a women went overboard and they legit just said over the loud speaker man overboard Portside. Keep in mind I’m twelve and knew exactly what this meant and I was completely calm. I think having secret codes isn’t good because people on board could help the person overboard even though there isn’t a huge chance of surviving.
I’m on a cruise right now and just saw my ship at 08:15!! Sick
That was a dark ending...
Going on a Disney Cruise in November, some of this stuff is good to know, makes you more aware, and some of it just scared me. STILL GOING!
I’m so happy I’ve never been to jail on a cruise 😂😲🤯 I thank God.
No wrong: no brig !!
Paige Hannah I can believe that lol. I was actually close to going (on accident) so thankful that I didn’t

See Regent Seven Seas cruise line
We're going on a cruise this December for 27 days. Xmas & NY at sea. Looking forward to it.
Congrats, I hope you have fun, make the most of it
Thx for the and im about to go on a cruise😇👍
As an experienced crew member (8 contracts, 8 ships, with 3 different lines) I can tell you unequivocally that you will never be invited by a crew member into a crew only area, crew drinks are more than a dollar, and there is no pool or hot tub for crew only.
I have seen crew pools on the front of some ships.
Only bad thing about this video was his jokes actually ruined it
Another thing to add is that if a staff member is late back on to the ship (after when they are told) they are never allowed back off the ship, for the whole time that they work with that cruise company
When I went I saw the Aldult only area and our hot tubs are next to our swimming pool. Also we went to the Bahamas
Remini Thao I love the Bahamas beautiful place isn't it
Yeah but the thing is i got sea sick after the first 2 days but was okay when we landed but when we got back on i was seasick again until the last 2 days. Also today I just dreamt about going on a cruise lol and in my dream I saw some small stingrays and thinking about how about I wasnt sick😂 I want to go on a cruise again but i dont wanna get sick. I didnt have any medicine at that time so maybe if i took medicine next time i go if i want to
Remini Thao bahamas is most boring dock
Tbh pretty much was. The People at Bahamas is like ghetto too
Was that a flying pterodactyl I saw in the introduction?? If so. I dig it.
Why would they have a morgue when they can just throw them over the railing?!
You are magic...you cured my headache
There are all-inclusive cruises
Who else here does not get the cover for this video?
I think I'll stick to the Caribbean, there are no Pirates at the Caribbean, are there?😭
RÉvsVEVO Only Jack Sparrow
RÉvsVEVO there is cartel pirates as well as venzuelan pirates but they are extremely rare and perfer to Target small personal boats

😘😘 👍👍✌👏👏👏
Viking is adults only and the pool is 6 ft deep so no kiddos to spoil the peace. They are also all-inclusive, including airfare to cruise destination.
I love it 🙂🙂
Here's one, NO CRUISE SHIP HAS FLOOR 13, look it up if a ship has 13 floors it will skip the number 13 and call it 14
Like hotels....?
The MSC cruise ship (it is often shown in the video). It’s gigantic and REALY cool. I HAVE BEEN ON IT!
You forgot that all cruise ships have rats in them, most of the staff would not consider eating at the buffets as they see the production of the food, and there is ALWAYS some broken that is one step away from causing a MAJOR emergency on every ship.
