I'm almost certain that these are all voiced by just two guys. Slaves, Arab Swordsmen and Arab Engineers are (quite clearly) voiced by the same guy, and imo all the other units are voiced by one guy as well. Archers and horse archers sound almost identical for example, but Slingers are pretty much the same too, he just pitched his voice up a bit, and you can hear it with Fire Throwers as well. Assassins I'd say are the most contentious one, but imho it could still be the same person. If he's got enough range, he could've easily done all of that.
While I do agree with you, I was never bothered by this during game. Each unit's voice is still distinct enough for me to believe they are different persons. Horse archer sounding similar to archer is also not an issue because they are really similar for gameplay as well. Specialists like assassin and fire thrower also have so much personality for them to stand out.
@@ChewingGumFlavor I'm not saying it as a major complaint or anything, I'm not particularly bothered by it either. I'm in absolute love with the game but firefly didn't really put much accuracy into their translation to arabic. they just sent the english words to a translator sitting on a desk who never saw the game (or maybe never played a game before) , so he just did literal translation. for example "eat steel" is translated to كله حديد , which means "eat it steel" , doesn't make much meaning when it's heard in arabic , it could have been better to translate it to "we eat steel نأكل الحديد" , which is a common phrase you may hear in an everyday discussion. Another example is "what a walk" , which is translated to "يا لها من مشية" ,in arabic it would feel like you are commenting on the way of walking of someone , while the english meaning is more into the distance of the walk (to the battlefield of course). another one is "they are moving down" , it's translated to "you are moving down ستكون نازلا" , which mean someone will be going down the stairs or something. maybe the translator were very clever to translate it to "it will be a catastrophe" ستكون نازلة , i'm not sure cause the arabic pronunciation is not clear in this sentence , but the translator choices doesn't really show he is that clever. even with these couple of issues ,still love the game and the other good quotes. Thanks a million for the great video (some arabic words are mis-spelled in the video ,let me know if you need help straightening that out) Awaiting your next great upload !
I believe the "eat steel" was taken from the European Swordsmen quote, which basically meant "you're gonna taste my sword!" But yeah, even if I don't know arabic I guess there must a more accurate expression which means the same but it's not literal
The arabian units wouldn't be nearly as awesome if they spoke english, I'm so glad Firefly did it this way. The slave's disband quote really conveys that feeling of "we're finally free", similar to laddermen who are grateful when you disband them.
