Ned wasn't partly raised in the South like his father was, but you can hear the dialect influence his father has on him, particularly in the "cow" in "cowboy". He doesn't form an "O" with his mouth toward the end of the syllable, making it more of "cah-boy" or even borderline "kye-boy". This is a very Northern Ireland-influenced trait in Southern American English which was spread by the Scots-Irish, including in Mississippi, where old Chris was born and partly raised. The way I see it, Ned is the perfect blend of his father's legacy and being his own man doing his own thing. Ned isn't his father and he never will be, and thank God for that, because Ned LeDoux is one hell of a cowboy in his own right. God bless, y'all!
"He hired on the Double Diamond, singing Strawberry Roan, riding Old Paint, he never felt more at home". Chokes me up every time.
Sounds just like his Dad! wow
Awesome. God Bless The Ledoux Family…
Man O Man where has the time gone? I remember Chris, Chuck, & Bill Smith, John Holman, George Paul (Goat) , and that entire bunch out of Wyoming when we were all young and thought that way of life would last forever. George was still young and "Amarillo by Morning" hadn't been recorded yet. Wonder where they all are today? Miss Chris fur damn sure.
Reminding us all of your father will never be a bad thing. I love that you remind me of him. Great song, Ned.
Absolutely terrific Ned, you are a magnificent Western singer , songwriter. Because this is pure western music just like your father was pure Cowboy Code to the core, so are you, God bless...
I can hear a hint of his dads voice in his music. I hope the young man has a bright future 👍👍🇺🇸
