One of the most unappreciated country singers of all time. Brooks did one thing that was great. When he put that line about workout Chris Ledoux tape in that song. Opened doors for many to Chris’s music. Gone but never forgotten. RIP Mr Ledoux.
Doggone right, he'll never be forgotten. Chris LeDoux gets played in our farmhouse a whole lot. We love hearing his voice and can't help but watch his videos. Our Virginia farm is a long way from Wyoming though now and again during a thunderstorm I swear I can see Chris riding across the lightning in the sky. Our family's blessings go out to his family and friends, we feel like he's been a part of our farm family for a long time and he'll remain that way too.
I didnt have a choice but to love Chris LeDoux. Ive been listening to him sence I was a baby. My dad was a bareback rider and a bullrider. My dad passed away when I was four ( in 1997) and Chris's music to this day some how helps me connect to my dad and remember the few short years I had with him. You are very much missed Chris LeDoux. Thank you for blessing us with your music. R.I.P and God Bless
We all miss Chris and I feel sorry for your dad and I feel your pain my grandpa loved Chris and would have done anything to save his life . Sadly he passed away December 6, 2000.
For what it's worth I just discovered this inspirational man. And I guess that's the best tribute we can give. After all these years people like me will hear one of his songs and say "Man who's this guy?!?"... Take a moment break from our lives and find out who he was, appreciate his talents and hard work, and see a true example of a life well lived and a true American spirit. Mr. Ladoux thanks and carry on!
I saw him in concert twice. The first time I had been going through a very difficult time. His energetic, fun, totally alive concert was just what I needed at that moment. He was fantastic. And I DID wear out his tapes.
Hello there 👋 Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will make you smile.
I saw Chris Ledoux ride bareback when I was a kid, been to his concerts multiple times, listen to his music for approx 40 years. No other concert could compare to his. Best ever. RIP you are missed beyond belief.
Not just the greatest cowboy singer of our time, but also a fantastic role model for every young man. Thank you, Chris for all the romantic times I've had at your concerts!
In ‘97 and ‘98 I was blessed enough to see Chris at the Greely stampede, the grizzly rose, and Cheyenne frontier days. I never missed a show. I remember Everytime he sang Copenhagen, all the cans of Copenhagen dip that would come flying onto the stage. God rest your soul Chris! Your music helped me become who I am today.
I had the pleasure of watching, listening and meeting Chris way back when, at the Strong City Rodeo in Kansas. We watched a great Rodeo and danced and sang the night away with Chris and the band. Met him after, what a kind, gentle man, with a spark of too funny. Loves him since then and miss him now. Thank goodness we had memories like this and his music that lives on ! Rest easy now Cowboy !!
Never had the chance to meet my cousin chris ledoux he died when i was 10 years old , but it's quite a honor to be related to him , he's a country music legend rest in peace chris ❤🙏
Chris Ledoux has been my role model since I was about 8, he has inspired me, I always thought I was just like him, I live on a farm, I'm a cowboy. My friend had asked me to listen to a song that was called bar back jack, then I discovered Chris Ledoux on his songs. From then on he has been my favorite singer.
WOW!! WHAT AN AMAZING MAN OF HEART, TALENT & LOVE!! LOVE HIS RESILIENCE AND STRENGTH AND WANT FOR MORE IN LIFE. HE LIVED LIFE TO THE FULLEST !! GOD BLESS HIS FAMILY. R.I.P CHRIS 😍 HE WENT TO DARN YOUNG!!💔💔💔
Thank you Garth for your kind heart and helping Chris. Tears to my eyes seeing you both on stage. I wish i could to do that for someone. Your my favorite.
When Garth says his live show is just a Chris Ledux ripoff….He ain’t wrong….I came to find Chris later on after his passing but man he could sing and put on a hell of a show
So glad I got to see him at the Pueblo, CO state fair before he died. Even though he was suffering from liver cancer, he still put on an amazing show, riding his mechanical bull and pulling up the net for the Copenhagen song! He was such a class-act, a true legend!
Such a excellent interview that I have never seen before today... Last week I went to a Garth Brooks concert in Branson Missouri and Garth happened to be wearing the T-shirt that said "Just LeDoux It" so that is the shirt I bought after the concert... Like many other people I discovered Chris's music back in the 1990s when his name was mentioned in that Garth Brooks song "much too young to feel this damn old"... After that I quickly fell in love with Chris's music and probably own most of the albums he ever put out... To this day he is still my favorite country artist of all time.
Chris was the whole pkg family man husband entertainer rodeo man and all around mans man I wish I got the chance to see him live and meet him rip bro you are missed
A true diamond. I've been a huge fan for years. He exudes my idea of what a man should be, what men use to be. Stand up, hard working, God fearing, families strength and support. Chris was a blessed man for sure and I'm sure his wife and kids would agree. For me Chris is at the top of my list of "the last of true men" right next to Charlie Daniels❤
last time i saw him was 1998? he played the boone county fair in columbia mo.. first time i saw him was i was 8 yrs old in the granddaddy .. was hooked on rodeo..his songs helped many a night..the fair in columbia mo .. i still find inspiration in his music..
He still is the best! Unfortunately I’ve only been listening to country for almost 30 years. I used to be rock and my daughter used to love country and still does but she started I believe when she was in the ninth grade listening to country music. I actually super glued my car radio to where My daughter couldn’t change my radio to country. What I’m about to say it is a fact I used to say if I ever started listening to country take me out to the back and shoot me. I used to think it was depressing. Growing up I actually enjoyed something that most people don’t even know but I enjoyed western music I’ve always gotten a hard time about what I’m about to say but the first album I ever bought back in 1973 when I was 13 was John Denver. I come from a family of 10 and I used to get teased about it and now I don’t care anymore I still enjoy his music to this day. Then later on I got into rock. But somehow along my years I got into country and I realized I really enjoyed it. Somehow approximately a year and a half ago when I was listening or should I say watching RUclips country that I ran across Chris. I had never heard of him before. That is a big regret for me because after listening to his music I realized that I really really enjoyed him and then I found out that he passed away way too soon. Today is Sunday, July 11 and I’ve been watching his music on RUclips for the past five hours or so that’s how much I enjoy him. I just love his music and his personality the more researched him I found out what kind of man he really is and how he feels about his family and man he’s blown me away. What a man, just what a man. I just love his music and I love his song writing and most importantly what kind of family man he is. To me that’s the most important thing to mean whenever I listen to anyone. What kind of man are you? When I make a friend or enjoy listening to someone’s music the first thing that comes in my mind that I look in anybody is what kind of man or woman in some cases are you. I am actually enjoyed someone’s music and then when I find out about their private life that will make it or break it for me. I don’t believe in getting married if you’re going to cheat on your wife or your husband. I have actually stopped listening to different music artist when I find out that they cheated on their partner to me that says what kind of man you are and to me that’s everything to me. I’m so glad I finally ran across him because until I started listening to him George Strait was one of my favorite artists and then I would have to say Garth Brooks. Now that I’ve started listening to Chris is number one on my list he is my number one artist and then everyone else falls in place behind him. It’s kind of funny because we both have the same first name but I just wish I knew about him before I wish I could’ve seen him in concert thank goodness for RUclips! Some mornings like this morning I wake up and I crank up my A/V gear And I turn the big screen on and I am a happy camper. He’s just such a man I mean he’s bigger than life! I’m so happy I ran across him somehow. May God bless him and I look forward to meeting him in in the afterlife. I’m writing this post because I hope his family and his children could read what I’m writing because to me he is everything!!! Love you Chris!!! GOD BLESS!!!
You will never be forgotten Chris. We always looked forward to you visiting Greensboro NC. We always had a blast! Thank you for the memories! Rest in Heaven buddy! Many prayers of blessings to your family. See u again someday playing in heaven
One error : when Chris is talking about the song his fans want at their wedding, he said he knew they meant "look at you girl" and described his courtship of his wife. But in this video, it plays "tougher than the rest." But otherwise a lovely video, thank you for posting this here x
I knew Chris Ledoux for real when he rode Bulls and I was running barrels and when he played his music at the COW PALACE. I loved his story telling songs. My favorite was That Strawberry Roan, I loved the song because Rangus my strawberry roan gelding we ran those Barrels, we roped, we rode endurance, dressage...he was a GREAT HORSE, ILOVEDHIM
Growing up in the heart of cowboy country in Wyoming Gillette the big rodeo town and land of open sage brush, cactus, and rolling hills and mountain's not far to the west powder river country I heard Chris every where I even driven past the the great cowboy ranch.
This might get long winded so bare with me. I'm just discovering his music. I'm 45 and will listen to anything as long as it sounds good. Everything from Beethoven to Black Sabbath to N.W.A. to Tina Turner to Son House to Johnny Cash, and everything in between. I really didn't give country a chance until I was a teen in the 90s, and how couldn't you??? Brooks and Dunn, George Strait, Alan Jackson, etc. I had only heard his name mentioned in other songs, and all I can say is....damn. When I think of a country singer's voice, this is what I think of. Rest In Peace Chris, and thank you.
On base concerts free to service members and family. Truly a blessing from an extremely giving man with a heart larger than the man. See you on the flip side....
I, with my brother (bull rider) and my dad (retired military veteran) met Chris backstage about 25 years ago. Got to talk with him about riding and the military for about 30 minutes. Chris's dad was in the military, so he always had a love and appreciation for the military folks. As we were parting ways, my dad thanked him for the show and the lengthy talk. Chris actually shook my dad's hand and said "No. Thank YOU, sir, for your service to our country. I'm just a cowboy. You and my dad are true heros". The first time I've ever seen a tear come to my dad's eye.
I’m 18 I was born in 2005 and I absolutely love Chris LeDoux he was an underrated artist and THE singing Bronc Rider. I’d rather listen to him sing those “Cowboy Songs” than most modern stuff today.
Been to so many of his concerts here in Utah. I'm friends with alot of people who used to bunk with him during his rodeo days. I love to hear the stories Clay Stark tells about bunking with him on the rode. Used to run into the band during the cutter race's at the Weber County fair grounds.
From Bareback Jack, Them Bareback Horses, and Photo Finish to Sons of the Pioneers, Western Skies, The Buffalo Grass, Wild and Wolly and, of course, This Cowboy’s Hat, Chris represented my Western Roots and life style to a T. God Bless Chris and the LeDoux family! If any of you are ever driving on I-25 and are near Kaycee, WY, exit the highway at Kaycee and find the park where the bronze that depicts Chris’s world champion bareback ride is at. It’ll take three minutes to find it and I promise you’ll stay for at least thirty.
I've actually been listening to LeDoux's older songs more than his newer ones. Home Town Cowboy is one of my favorite songs because it describes my luck with a girl I grew up with, only I didn't have to attempt any bull riding for her to break my heart and start dating some guy from Wyoming. Copenhagen, Copenhagen Angel, and Used to Wanna be a Cowboy are some of my other favorite Chris LeDoux songs.
Damn sure miss Chris. Got to sit down and have a beer between sets in Stillwater when I was in school there. He was a real regular guy that enjoyed a couple of talents he really didn’t talk about. He just wanted to relax with a couple of other cowboys and bs a bit. I’ll not ever forget it or him. He was a really good guy.
Angelus Domini Nuntiavit Mariae it has 5 dislikes probably people who don’t know a truly amazing man chis is, if I turn out to be half the man Chris is

That song by Garth Brooks is exactly how I found out about Chris Ledoux as I had never heard of him before... Now I think I own most of his music CDs.
Doggone right, he'll never be forgotten.

Chris Ledoux made Garth famous! Garth even admits to stealing his whole stage show.
And his tribute Good Ride Cowboy
True
A true loving & caring person. He let me bunk with them, when there was no more motel rooms at a Rodeo School. RIP....Chris.
He must have been a TRUE gentleman, so very rare R I P CHRIS!

God bless Chris LeDoux.
I can hear Garth Brooks in that sentence

Not just the greatest cowboy singer of our time, but also a fantastic role model for every young man.
Thank you, Chris for all the romantic times I've had at your concerts!
He was one of my reasons and passion for country music. I have always admired and carry with me his good songs. Eternal Chris.
God Bless Chris LeDoux.... He has been a hero of mine for most of my adult life. He lived the life of a cowboy, husband and father....
I met Chris LeDoux in 2000 at a hotel in salt lake City Utah and didn't even know it till the next day that I was talking to the country music legend
In ‘97 and ‘98 I was blessed enough to see Chris at the Greely stampede, the grizzly rose, and Cheyenne frontier days. I never missed a show. I grew up listening to Chris Ledoux's music, my step-dad and Mom had every record of his and I would listen to them, while visiting.
Rest peace. Ian Tyson, Red Steagall, and The Great Chris Ledoux made growing up in Ruidoso New Mexico magic. The Winner.

One error : when Chris is talking about the song his fans want at their wedding, he said he knew they meant "look at you girl" and described his courtship of his wife. But in this video, it plays "tougher than the rest."
But otherwise a lovely video, thank you for posting this here x

Got to sit down and have a beer between sets in Stillwater when I was in school there.
He was a real regular guy that enjoyed a couple of talents he really didn’t talk about.
He just wanted to relax with a couple of other cowboys and bs a bit.
I’ll not ever forget it or him.
He was a really good guy.
Definitely one of the GOATs
A true legend
