      From what It sounded like he wanted to go to the eagles. Even before his draft he spent the most time with the eagles going out to dinner and stuff even though there wasn't a chance they'd draft him. It's his home team and him and his family's favorite team. I think he just figured if he was gonna be a backup he wanted to be on his favorite team. Besides eagles have more weapons and better oline for him to work with than he's had with the Steelers. He's probably going to have his best play yet backing up Jalen. He shouldn't have started his rookie year and wasn't put In A good situation. And then they signed russ to take his job outta nowhere. I don't blame him for leaving. He needs a change of scenery anyways. Now he's got new and better offense, coaches, and can learn under Jalen hurts.

    Near the end of last season, Pickett was promised the start for next season. But of course, when the team signed a veteran who will NOT be anything else but a starter... that damaged Pickett's confidence big time. So he ended up complaining. IMMEDIATELY the Steelers staff traded him. It's not all on Pickett. He does have the talent to be a great starting QB. But in the big leagues, they don't bother trying to "train" rookies anymore. They just thrust you into impossible situations and expect you to play 15x better than you did in College. That's why all the "great" QBs drafted in the past 7 years look like complete busts (minus Maholmes, that man is a true freak when it comes to talent). There's very little trust in the young QBs because everyone wants that "Dan Marino" or "Philip Rivers" QB right out of the gate. Quality talent, Bonafide starter and can lead an offense with little talent at the WR position.

    • @DrownInLysergic

      Either way, Russell Wilson was signed to a 1 year contract. If he played mid overall he wouldn't be back next year and Kenny would compete for QB1 against somebody else, and probably start for the second half of the season at the very least. Now he'll be a backup unless he does well enough in preseason that a team that ends up desperate for a QB gives him a shot. He probably just begun his career as a backup that'll play for 7 or 8 different teams and then retire.

    I feel like Kenny doesn't want all the heat from Pittsburgh he went to Pitt had to hear about himself being small his hands being to small him wearing gloves I wish he would have stayed and learned a few things from Wilson but Fields is taking full advantage of the time he has with the veteran QB in Russ and it has definitely lit a fire under him, im just glad that Fields is getting an opportunity to showcase himself instead of being another QB waisting away in Chicago no offense Bears fans but until you get some people to protect your QB and get him one guy to throw it down the field to the rest could come together. I'm a die hard Steelers fan but I've grown up into a fantasy football fan too so I follow players from high school on up if possible. But I cheer for dynasties I fully enjoyed seeing the Jets kick the pats ass last night loved seeing Detroit get on a roll last season and I'm always rooting for these teams like the Bears, Panthers, Cardinals, and the Texans that they'll be in the mix I love football but I want to see good games great teams and big plays on offense and defense now that would be a perfect world and football will always be football sometimes the other guys come out on top from the rip. Long story short I'll always root for Picket but the fact he didn't even give it a shot is concerning on how he feels about competition and apparently he would rather leave than fight for his spot and I'm happy with Fields and the future for this team The Steelers are in my opinion only a season or two away from a Superbowl and we need to get there within the next few seasons our defense is solid but just like any team time will make old men of us all and eventually guys have to retire and step away just hoping for something special for Cam Hayward before he calls it quits and Tomlin deserves at least one more ring before he hangs up his headset

      It's a super easy decision. Like, you wouldn't even have to think about it. If you find out that you have an opportunity to get Fields after signing Wilson, you're immediately choosing Fields over Pickett.
      But, considering that he did cry and whine, he probably would've been booted from Pittsburgh for absolutely nothing, lol. He probably would have been released even if Fields wasn't an option.
      Pickett doesn't understand that he's just not good. He's really thinks that he is good enough to be a starter and that he's good enough to be the face of the Steelers and hit with a franchise tag.
      When in reality, dudes not good, at all. He's barely even good enough to be in the league at all, even as a practice squad QB.
      His playing alone showed that he barely deserves to be a backup and that he will only be able to keep a drive alive for a couple of plays if a starting QB is forced to miss a couple plays for whatever reason. He's backing up Hurts now, but Hurts isn't injury prone and if anything, he'll only see the field in preseason and if Hurts needs to sit out a play or two.
      Other than that, I don't see him being an Eagle next season IFF he even finishes out this year without being cut.
      He's more than likely going to be fighting for a starting position with A.J McCarron in the UFL, lol.

    • @OhioBoii330
      @OhioBoii330 7 месяцев назад +3

      @denisfolcik1373 Oooh, okay. I honestly thought that even tho they had already signed Wilson, once Fields became available and Pittsburgh had an opportunity to get him that it was a "no brainer" and they would have easily dropped Pickett in a blink of an eye of Fields regardless of his attitude.
      At least, if I was apart of the Steelers head coaching staff or apart of the decision making group, I wouldn't have hesitated to drop Pickett for Fields.
      I just don't see any potential in Pickett as a starting QB or even as a reliable backup.
      Like, I feel the most he would be able to do would be to keep a drive alive if the starting QB was forced to miss a couple snaps for whatever reason. But, if he were to go down with an injury that forced him to miss multiple weeks, whoever Pickett played for at the time would be totally screwed.
      Wilson isn't a terrible QB. He just wasn't with an organization that was for him, if that makes sense.
      I feel like Fields was in the same situation, just less severe than Wilsons.
      Fields has the potential to be a really good QB and possibly even a franchise QB if he is with the right organization. He's gunna be a clutch backup for Wilson. Pickett, nooo. Not so much. He's like a practice squad QB or even a UFL QB like A.J McCarron.

Also, Pickett is going to his hometown town team in the Eagles. His rookie contract is also guaranteed so he's still going to get paid. The eagles have a great team and great coaching and they added Barkley. They don't need hurts to throw for 5k yards and 35tds to be successful. He was now Mason.

  • @adamlewis5700
    @adamlewis5700 26 дней назад

    It's been widely reported since then that Tomlin promised two players two different things. Tomlin told Kenny they were bringing in Russ, and Kenny accepted it graciously. After it was announced the two even exchanged friendly texts. Then, Kenny got word that the reason Russ signed in the burgh and cancelled his next two interviews was because he was given a nod and wink from Tomlin that he would be QB1. Tomlin used the word "pole position" Kenny had been part of Tomlin's QB competitions before when Mitch and Mason were there. This was not a a "competition" at all. It was Wilson's team now. Kenny knew it and asked for a trade. He didn't ask to go to the Eagles, so bringing up that point makes zero sense. The Steelers chose the Eagles and Kenny will be a pretty good/decent career backup, which if I'm being honest, is probably what he's suited for.

    QB play aside, that’s a huge dig by the Steelers organization to bring in two guys, 1 of which no one is even certain is good anymore and the other has yet to actually prove his worth. Meanwhile Kenny Picket has had the starting job in Pittsburgh for a few years now with Ben retiring and has still kept up the streak of a winning record. I know I’m probably by myself but I feel that is a huge dig at Kenny Picket from the Steelers organization

With this last qb carousel we had 5 tuenovers on the bengals and joe burrow and still barely won at the buzzer. Mason looked solid asf at the end of the year and i don't remeber who got him but i think he is nfl ready now but hes probably still a backup even though he could start. Wish we had kept him

Many young adults are too worked up over nothing due to being habit of behaviors on line, it brings out this persona in the real world of being the BASE FOUNDATION of your place in this world.

    There is more to it. I don't think Kenny was getting the suppost that he needed in Pittsburgh.
    After Kenny left, the Steelers got highly draft offensive line men, that should have been drafted last year.
    Remember, Bledsoe was highly rated when skinny Tom Brady was drafted.
    Kenny was playing on a badly coached team, with a bad offensive line.
    This has happened to the Steelers before both Johnny Unitas, and Lenny Dawson were on the Steelers, and rejected by the Steelers to go on to the hall of fame.
    Steelers are going to go on to become 1st in the 2025 draft pick.
