Offer imp ea, and tell them you will interrupt the necro mancers in hyjal.
If your still in t4.id suggest getting 4pc t5 and either s2/3 MH or the sword out of ssc. If you got the set and the weps you should be able to make a name for yourself in raids.
If you find another rogue is the one doing the invites, stress that you will imp ea or take turns with him.
Yeah... just go get the Talon from SSC. The one we didn't see until BT was out. Super easy, barely an inconvenience! =)

Call me crazy, but I also enjoy being the rogue on council and doing the interrupts. I usually interrupt the smites, just to see how many interrupts I can get off in one fight.
Same! I love interrupting casts in all aspects of the game. Feels good completely locking down casters.
I aim for atleast 60 interrupts during that fight but my guild keeps killing it faster every week

Regarding the hateful strikes; you probably know this but threat classic 2 has the option of only showing aggro on people that are in melee range for certain bosses, making it a lot easier to see if you're actually high on threat or not. I use it for Gruul, VR, Supremus and Gurtogg
I was so excited when I learned the vanish swap on a hunch last week and it worked, I knew nothing about it, I immediately told my guild about it then I watch this video and apearently everyone allready knew. For half a minute I thought I had an edge other.didnt know about
You can use cloak on Illidan fight if you get picked for the Dark Barrage, it will help healers a lot

On Mother Shahraz encounter, does the thornling seeds and dog whistles still work for fatal attraction mechanic? As I had come across elsewhere the thornling seeds do not get teleported so i'm confused how to use the thornling seeds/dog whistle on this encounter. Also when is it best to use the pendant of shadow’s end necklace during this encounter? Thanks
I have a question regarding the interrupts in Lady Malande. At 47:30 you interrupt Divine Wrath , but she immediately starts to cast Empowered Smite. All her spells are Holy according to Wowhead, so shouldn't she be unable to cast anything for three seconds following the Deadly Throw? Same thing at 51:30 with Divine Wrath and Circle of Healing, using kick instead of Deadly Throw.
Is that right? Deadly to use Deadly Poison on the Main and Offhand ?

If you are not exposing armor and you can have the 4 points in Vile Poisons. Are sharpening stones still better than instant poison for thrash?
Note: For those who may ask, deadly poison is better because this is a boss dps guide - if it's an overall dps guide you'd be going sharpening stones for trash damage
As a melee you can also remove your stam / HP increased buff on supremus since its Top 3 Threat + highest HP
Top three in threat in melee and behind him. Melee needs to be REALLY carefull on supremus..just go dance or smoke a butt during those phases

hrm maybe the cloak doesn't work, I could have sworn it worked on ptr but maybe I got lucky with a god shaman totem timing - I'll have to recheck it
@@ClassicRoguecraft I’m pretty sure that it doesn’t work, otherwise my RNG is super shitty as well. I have cloaked it 3-4 times with no success. At least vanishing it is super easy.

What would you consider a good duration of a fight or phase to justify expose armor. Referring to p2 of illidan. OR I’m guessing not for akama. Is there a good rule of thumb for time relative expose value?
if you can keep IEA up the entire time without it dropping (outside of phase shifts and such) then you do IEA - if not then don't do it because dropping IEA is worse than not applying IEA
What addon/weakaura are you using that brings up if you're missing consumes?

As far as I can tell, these are the 4 biggest factors for pumping out good damage on a rogue:
1: Gear (sad to say it but our class is extremely gear dependent)
2: At least 2 bloodlusts (too many groups are double lusting their mele to compete for 99s without it. This is extremely difficult to do if your raid isn't running 6 shaman or playing in a dad guild).
3: Group buffs - Rogues can put out some serious damage this phase but we need group buffs to do it. Without group buffs you're nerfing your damage by 30%+. This means warrior for battle shout (8% damage), feral for crit (4% damage), enhance shaman for extra attack power (19% damage vs no shaman and 5% damage for enhance vs resto sham), and a BM hunter or Ret (extra 2% damage). You'll need to convince your raid to give your mele these buffs if you want them to pump. (It's only worth double lusting your group if everyone in your group is pumping, not just you.) Thank you Simon for the damage estimates.
4: High uptime on Slice and Dice and Improved Expose Armor. If you can achieve 85%+ uptime on both IEA and Slice n Dice while weave in some 3-5pt ruptures, you will be pumping out a lot of damage and great utility for your raid.
Tip: My ideal opener is: SSx1-2 > SD > SS > SS > Thistle > SS > SS > SS > IEA > SD (if combo proc'd) > 2 min CDs/Adrenaline Rush > Haste Pot > SS > SS > SS > SS > Rupture > SS > SS > SD > Build for next IEA. I like this because your cool downs get popped after IEA goes up. Using adrenaline earlier for faster IEA is also great. Most fights are under 2 minutes so I like to focus on getting high uptime on cooldowns when boss has full debuffs and you have bloodlust. On fights like Mother that is typically just over 2 minutes, I would prio using 2 min CDs a little earlier so you have good uptime on 2nd round of 2 min CDs. Use these tips on every encounter and hope for good boss mechanic RNG, and you'll put up good damage.
The problem is that Imp EA as raid wide and does not benefit anyone in the melee meta group . The slot could be filled with someone that buffs those 5 players. It’s just simply better to have a ret or fury in there or if you are still running a prot war that also takes priority over rogue dps
@@Whydyoudothis if your raid isn't setup with two mele groups, and doesn't have a bunch of physical damage then you probably shouldn't run a rogue anyway IMO. If you do have 2 mele groups and still don't think a rogue should get 1 of those 8 dps slots then you're missing so much that I can't help you in a youtube comment

Rogue can benefit raid outside of group metas and brings nothing being inside. Unless you bump prot war because bear tank is good rogue has no real slot in TBC. And if you think otherwise your raid isn’t playing optimal meta

@@Whydyoudothis my warrior and rogues flip oit if imp ea drops off. It's more important THAN WF AND BS. I run bt with all physical- 2 locks 1 shadow preist and 1 mage . 1-2 eles.
3075 armor is HUGE unless your raid is doing under 10k dps physical you need imp ea for big dps. Hyjal? Yeah imp ea is useless on trash but how you gonna deal with the necromancers without rogues?

question for all the fellow rogues: did anyone try to use mind numbing poison on reliquary phase 2? Does it works on slowing the casts?
Didn't try mind numbing but Curse of Tongues works, so I would assume poisons do as well

On council you should be DPSing into reflective shield every time cloak is off CD. Also CDs right after BOP so you don't blow CDs and then BOP comes. I made that mistake first time.
Unless you're breaking the shield before it expires (a 25k absorb) and doing damage to her health pool earlier, doing any damage at all to the shield is pointless.
If you actually want to do damage as the rogue on this fight, you have to be taken off interrupts and have other people do it (like 2 eles + feral tank + DPS warr during spellwarding). Luckily, if you stack Veras with Gathios like most people, rogue damage is really good on this fight if you can get a full BFs off without Veras getting BoP'd.
Alternatively, you can stack Malande with Gathios and Veras (when he's up) and just focus kick Malade. That makes moving out of AoEs a lot more annoying though and adds a ton of spike damage to the raid with the Reflective Shield (since she'll be DoT'd and cleaved).
@@Squirlness bring Two rogues to bt. Like every fight calls for a rogue in here it feels like. Rogue can solo interupt everything from range you only melee to get one shiv for a CP., then which rogue does it swaps every week.
My only 96% parse in bt is from week one on counsel, I just dpsd the bosses while other rogue used deadly throw. Counsel is 2nd finest rogue fight in the patch imo, the req of souls being the best.

it's only on par with bloodlust brooch basically - so not used if you have bis level trinkets

@@philippecote8571 you can use either honestly, it's passive vs active so something passive works better but sometimes actives is better if you get multiple usages in a fight.
Personally I'd just use brooch because if they are roughly the same there's no point in me constantly worrying about remembering to trinket swap.
Isn't it still worth to use Shiv to reaply Deadly poison if the 5 stacked is about to fall off and you're unlucky it doesn't refresh?

Noticed you are using 5 star slice and dice in rotation. Can you explain a little bit? Cause originally most guide tell us to use 2 or 3 stars slice and dice into rapture/ea. But recently ppl start to use 5 star slice and dice.
It's got a lot to do with your overall haste levels (2pc T6 SnD haste) / your combat potency procs / how your SnD uptime and IEA uptime are correlated. Typically, you should be able to 1-2pt SnD > 5pt IEA > 1-2pt SnD > 5pt SnD > 5pt IEA > 5pt Rupture. At this point it pretty much resets, again this heavily depends on your current haste levels (DST proc/1.4 offhand/BF haste pot and lust etc) as well as timing of your AR and tea. You need to make sure you never drop SnD or IEA as both will be huge dps loss (IEA typically 1k raid dps, SnD typically 2-500 dps)
tbh i didnt want to raid since i've done this crap years ago, but since i have alot of time onhand + when i did raid MH i instantly got loads of nades and oil of immolation " ithink 120+?" and flame caps around 30 or so, after raid is done i was actually thinking as rogue in our AOE we only relay on nades/sappers/flamecap/oil, so i though of actually having firespell dmg gear might be good for trash aoe, atm i'am getting firespell dmg/normal spell dmg gear, but idk if i will keep it up or not, but someone whom got alot of gold should do test...get fire damage gear "Fiery wrath" highest firedmg/spell dmg u can get, test with and without the gear on trash "spamming flamecap/oil of immolation"..would be nice to know if the overall DPS increase and its good or waste of time/gold, i might not be able to do this just because i dont have alot of gold : /
If you vanish on Teron Gorefiend, he will cast shadow of death immediately on someone else. So, I am not sure how good it actually is to vanish it since you will obviously help yourself but then maybe you'll grief the raid by getting a healer with it
you need to vanish during the cast, not immediately when he targets you. He shouldn't cast on anyone else if you do it that way
Like Sno just wrote, if you vanish DURING the Shadow of Death cast, he will completely skip that cast and shouldn’t cast it again until the next window. It’s as if he casted it, but no one got the debuff. He will not double cast Shadow of Death unless you vanish BEFORE he starts casting.
@@Sumo-san that’s exactly what I do but he still recasts. Since I am targeting him, I can easily when he starts casting and vanish in the middle of it. There is usually like a 1-2 second delay between me vanishing and him recasting
I have gotten shadow of death 3 weeks in a row and all 3 times I have vanished while he casts and he recasts
@@Toymachiner27 your vanishing to soon, I gotten targeted twice, I vanish when he is 99.999% Done casting Never mid way you need wait till like 97% cast atleast then vanish and the whole round gets skipped.
Any reason u start using SnD so late ? On some bosses u used it after 2-3 combo points on Najentus u even waited for 4 combo points? What happened with old rotation 1 point SnD > 5 SS into IEA
By now we have so much haste we can get combos up faster, and the ea on the boss is > snd on you imo, I will let my snd fall off to get more time out of ea before I refresh ea and then snd a couple seconds late. Also one point snd is only in dire situations, doesn't give you enough time to put up 5point finishes comfortably. 2 points or 5 points on snd, rupture I use what ever spare combos I have don't care how many.
@@isaarunarom7830 nahhhh you should never let SnD fall off you and getting a 1pt SnD on yourself first is high prio since 35% haste on your offhand COULD generate a ton of energy. Opener should be SS > SnD > SSx2, tea, SSx2-3 based on if you got the CP off SnD and IEA > SnD if CP or gen 1-2 point at which point you can start saving up for 5pt snd and alternate with IEA. Once you have ample energy or use AR you can put up the rupture
Ghosts don't spawn if you vanish on teron, right?
Nope. Ideal is you vanish after the cast is finished but before the bolt lands on you then he won't even recast the spell. However if you vanish before he finishes cast you won't get ghost debuff either (but he will cast it on someone else).
Consecrated sharp stones no good?? REEEEE. I was using for alliance base and swap to deadly be4 Anetheron, then using for Teron Gorefiend. So deadly poison is just better for Rage/Teron and adamantite better for trash?
for bosses yeah - deadly is just straight better anytime it gets to stack up
Flame cap gives you + fire damage so you use them before sapper if you're pro

Why are you no longer using swing timer ? I can see for sure that windfury and sword proc reset swing timer. Can you confirm that sinister does not proc wf?
swing timer resetting on those in tbc is a visual buf with the swing timer auras. If you check logs and in game damage there's no actual reset anymore - so you uninstall swing timer
Not sure how I could verify with logs or in game damage that’s swings are or are not going through? I want to believe you and not be watching this bar till end of timer just weary from classic
Also can confirm you can’t undead racial the sleep on anetheron and I’ve been unlucky every week and every fear on Archimonde with cloak on fear it goes through. Thankfully racial does work for it

I'm 99% sure Anetheron's Vamp Aura is bugged and doesn't actually heal him. If you look at logs, no enemy healing shows up. You can also take a look at the total damage Anetheron took, and it's 4.25m in every log I've checked.
The Wound Poison recommendation is also missing from Naj'entus (he heals during the shield).

I only got warp spring coil last week, guild never saw one drop until now

You can just class color your threat bars - then u will be safe ;)
I hate it for other fights though. But it may not be a bad idea just for supremus.

I've never heard anyone mention this. Could you use envenom on mobs that are close to dying and have 5 stacks of poison up to boost damage?
Yes, absolutely. But that typically only applies to bosses, since on trash you should be using a sharpening stone on your OH.
yeah you could if you want, but like other comment mentioned you'd be using sharpening stones if you really cared about min/maxing trash dps

About the Supremus hateful strike. he targets the non-mt in his melee range with highest hp, so it's not about threat. also I would highly suggest you change your threat meter to show class colors so it's easier to see what classes are around you in threat. not for that fight, but just in general. since supremus has a bigger hit box than his melee range you can attack him outside his hateful strike range in case the off tank isn't in melee range and you're the next highest hp target. it's better to be safe and stand back outside his melee range
it's both threat and hp isn't it? In that it's top 3 on threat for the pool of selections > then highest hp of them, so if it works like that then early vanish should remove you from top 3
@@ClassicRoguecraft It's both. You need at least 1 OT in top 3 melee threat. You could have the MT, 5 ranged then an enhance sham and a bear on threat 1-7 and the bear will eat the HS assuming he is topped higher than the enhance every time it goes out. If you can get offtanks to take 2-3 melee threat position then no one else will take hits ever.
Don't be a rogue, end of guide.

Have any video of 99s where people are playing their rogue correctly? Acting like people who get 99s are not "doing their job" for the raid with IEA or other mechanics, is extremely disingenuous and hard copium for low parse/inadequate damage.
