Cesar Romero was part of an actual professional tango and ballroom team that appeared for mucho denaro at swank nightspots such as the St Regis roof in the very early 30's. Or this is what he told me, anyway, to my face at the no longer extant Moonlight Tango cafe on Ventura Blvd shortly before his death some 25 years ago, I seem to recall, or perhaps more like 30 years ago. But what a great and agile dancer for such a big dude. Another early tango team of the era was Rita Cansino and her father, believe it or not. And who was Rita Cansino. Nought other than Rita Heyworth or is that spelled Rita Hayworth, one of the most beautiful hollywood stars ever.
