I loved the film but it was scandalous how the studio treated the original score from the show. Leonard Bernstein disowned the film completely. There were some really great songs in it that they replaced with very inferior ones. For some reason Roger Edens thought the original score was too sophisticated for audiences, and he replaced some of the best material, with his mediocre work. Betty Garret's career came to a screaming halt around this time when it was revealed that she and her husband Larry Parks, were members of the Communist Party.

Her voice is horrible but Sinatra makes up for it
