      Also I couldn’t help but notice that the knife was convexed. What thickness do you prefer leaving the edge before convexing hunters, choppers, and kitchen knives?

      @@awforge i shoot for around .040 for choppers .020 for hunters/utility and .010 for kitchen knives

    That cold forging in my opinion caused the blade to harden a bit more and is what made it so much more difficult to hit the 90 on the bend test.

    Another question - during the test will you also perform the chopping and bending yourself?
    It seems that there might be quite a lot of variability in the test, depending on the skill of the guy doing the chopping as well as the knottiness of the 2x4.

      @@dongkhamet1351 yes I will be chopping and the person being tested is allowed to choose where they will chop on the 2x4

    Are you permitted to flip the 2x4 during the test? Surely doing that makes the task easier than going all the way through from the same side.
