I think the story has gone on for so long, that because of 24 hour news coverage they've already interviewed and gone through the residents, strucural engineers, policeman, fireman, paramedics and local politicians. They have no-one else to talk to.

In the US this would be a local issue, even after 9/11 the WTC was rebuilt by private corporations in conjunction with local building regulations.
For the national government to get involved in building and fire regulations is unheard of in the US.
But, why is it the fault of the government, was this subsidized housing or something? We have subsidized housing (Section 8) in the USA, but they are still owned by private companies?
