Get your facts straight. This outbreak of clade 1b disease in the Congo has not infected a single gay man in the UK, not one. In fact over half of hospitalised cases in the Congo are women. How can you lay this at a door of gay men thousands of miles away who have never come in contact with this variant that is of concern? 🤷♀️

The risk from Mpox in the UK is extremely low. It is mainly affecting men who have male sexual partners. Sorry if this is offensive to some, scientific fact often is.
Also draconian laws towards LGBTQ in some parts of Africa mean little to no access to appropriate medical treatment for this community, which of course helps all kinds of diseases spread, including Mpox.
Poor sanitation, lack of access to vaccines and other medicines, lack of funding for vaccines and healthcare, and lack of awareness, all play their part too, as they do with other diseases like HIV.
The UK already has a vaccination program for Mpox which is accessible to men who have sexual contact with men, healthcare workers who are more likely to come into contact with someone who has Mpox and anyone who has been in close contact with someone who is infected within 14 days.
This is NOT Covid, and NO there will NOT be 'another lockdown'.

Something i dont understand tho, is how can you easily detain infekted people if symptoms can arrive weeks after you catch the virus? Cant it just be easily spread before the symptoms, since noone is concious that a person has mpox?

Infected people should be isolated like Ebola victims, to protect the rest of the population. For the original MPox the U.K. government advised staying home while infectious. This is inadequate for the new strain.
