adswire first run was neutral, I spared every monster I saw but I killed Toriel, Undyne, and Mettaton. Legit I thought you HAD to kill Toriel, and for the other two I couldn’t figure out how to spare them before I died, so I found it easier to kill them instead (wow guess Flowey was right huh?) boy did I feel absolutely guilty when the ending showed that Papyrus thought Undyne went on vacation.
Next run was true pacifist, many years were shed that day.
I have yet to do a true genocide but.. I don’t think I can bring myself to do it just yet lmao.

I can see there's many ppl confused about why muffet has same leitmotifs with ghost families
If you went to Napstablook's house
you'll see a spider web at right downer corner, if you check the web there will be a flyer of muffet's bakery on it, since Napstablook might composed the theme, the spider might heard the theme then present it to muffet.
They're also all just minibosses. It's the miniboss theme.

I love how Toby handles leitmotifs in a lore context builds a sense of harmony
I fell in love with that heavy use of leitmotifs from his and others' work on Homestuck. It's a great way to signal connections in a nonverbal way, like Vriska's theme completely overruning Tavros'.

@ivace well friend every time I try being creative I never get any likes. Besides it took me *years* of learning how RUclips comments work just to write those small "unimaginative" comments. There's a lot more that goes into comments like this, you need to understand how RUclips's humour works, you need to be quick in thinking what to write when you see a new video because the sooner you post it, the bigger chance of other people seeing it gets. It's definitely more creative than saying "I hate this because *random nitpicking*" that is btw more common than comments like mine.
I'm not judging, just saying, I used to be in your position, I would even get very mad over small things like this, but with time you'll learn.

Note: The ghost and dummy themes are played swung while Muffet's is played quantised. This suggests that, while they all share some core ideas, Muffet has more control over those ideas than the others, perhaps as a result of her mortal form.
I dunno if this was intentional or not but it's interesting to think about.

This is one of the reasons I love Undertale, there's so much to disect in every music piece, in the recent Deltarune Chapter 2, the secret bosses' music has so many lietmotifs jn it, some are noticable some you have to pay close attention for

Just letting you all know:
Movies and TV shows do stuff like this alllllllll the time. Reusing certain theme songs help convey special emotions. This is in no way lazy.
In How to Train your Dragon a special theme plays when Hiccup and Toothless fly for the first time and it tends to repeat throughout the series to convey their growing and everlasting friendship.
Here they use it for Napstablook, the Dummy, and Muffet to convey the emotions of unnecessary anxiety or impatience. We all either have no time for this or we’re freaking out because there were no signs of us fighting the “special” character in the first place.
In the end, reusing a rhythm like Toby just did is in fact genius. He also did it for Asgore’s theme, which has a snippet from “Heartache,” Toriel’s theme. Using that snippet conveys Asgore’s endless grief over the loss of his children and wife, and pulls on your heart strings when you hear it.
