Thanks for watching! Where are you camping this summer?
I loved this video! 💛 we're hoping to get to the mountains a few more times this year, but otherwise we camp in Arkansas mostly because there's some amazing beauty pretty close to us!
Great video.
So far Cheddar Gorge and then an 11 day camping trip around the south coast of England.
Your experience in the desert was cooler than my May camping trip in Texas. It didn't get below 75.
Places in California
@@moonlit_tripsnstyle Great Smokey Mountain National Park, Tybee Island GA, Henderson St Park in FLA and others in Sept.
One tip for sleeping in a hard shell roof top tent is to park your car so that the direction of the wind is hitting the hard top instead of the fabric sides. It helps to reduce the wind noise since you're up a lot higher than a ground tent.
Great tip, thanks!
I’ve lived in Oregon my whole life. We literally have every type of land you’d want. Forest, mountains, desert, snow, etc
beaches too
but the forests are very one specie. not like the biodiverse forests of the eastern US
"i feel so at home in the desert" yeessssss girl me too!! the sense of peace the desert brings is unmatched
One tip is put a “caution k-9 on board” window sticker on your car. It’s a safety feature for people who travel with dogs so people drive more cautiously and safety responders can ask proper question. But it can also just be a safety measure for yourself.
Chair tip is good
The sun rising and the moon setting was awesome
I love what you shared about the uniqueness of sitting by yourself at camp in the darkness, I have had similar experiences camping and I related to what you said! I always appreciate your perspective and approach to life ❤
just got back from my first solo trip-i went camping all around the American Southwest and it was awesome!
As an Oregonian myself you did a fabulous job showcasing the State. Well done.
That tent is a gamechanger. Even when there will be a zombie apocalypse 🤣🤣🤣
Watching your videos gave me the little push that I needed to plan solo camping trips. Love your videos! Beautiful scenery and photographs.
Yes Oregano is my second home. I’m so glad you got to experience the beauty of the desert.
haha yeah I've done the fake extra chair when I camp alone! I also considered going to a used store and buying some really big guys boots to leave outside the tent door! hahaha
Fishing waders. 😊. That’s where yo man was all day.
Extra chair, oversized dog bowl with BRUTUS written on it and a large spiked dog collar, and fake dog poop that would make even bigfoot think twice.
Such a beautiful area! I would love to hear more about your favorite camping spots in Oregon and Washington. Funny story, my husband and I camped along the Deschutes over in Maupin. We got there when it was dark. These bright headlights started coming towards us and we were thinking what the hell, there are plenty of other spots, why is this other car setting up near us and shining their headlights into our tent. There was hardly anyone camping out there during the time. The light started getting brighter and brighter… and we were freaking out. It turned out to be a train on the other side of the river. 😅
You always have the best travel videos like this. I absolutely love and enjoy the simplicity of it.
You provide such valuable information. Not only with where you are, but the gear you are using. I loved the use of the lanterns to feel safe. That's so important. Camping doesn't have to feel scary.
I can feel your complete solitude from the morning. Looks very peaceful with a calm temperature and breeze...Must place I will visit sometime soon.
What a dream...!! I admire this traveling alone, exploring things which others dream about. 😍😍😍
What a life you have! Roof top tent has been on my mind. Yes, it is quite an investment over ground tenting. You provided great tips on solo camping with roof top tents. And you are an excellent videographer! Thank you for sharing.
The tent looks cool and your drone view looked amazing. I only knew Oregon had a desert this year when I drove past a turn off for a desert area. I was stunned! I spent several nights camping at Crater Lake with my dog in June. It was incredible.
Makes me want to drive to Oregon from NC and experience that moonglow camping. Thanks for inspiring me to solo travel. Love your vids
That rooftop tent looks really comfy. But that beautiful sky is the best part! 🤩
Good to see you got over your fear of the darkness (as you mentioned in your Joshua Tree video).
Just binged watched a bunch of your videos. Your travels vlogs are so easy and refreshing! Thanks for taking me along the adventure. 💛
Love this ep! I had a soft shell rooftop tent when I did my roadtrip! It’s definitely nothing compared to the hard shell!
Allison knows how to live! Love it!
Excellent tip about the camp chairs! Great review on the roof top tent. Really enjoyed the video. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Also could bring a pair of your husband's boots to leave out.
Beautiful shots of the sunset and sunrise. The moon looked amazing!!! Love your videos. :)
This is so relaxing video to watch. Thanks for sharing!
That area is so cool! I had no idea Oregon had a desert, either! So cool. I loved watching your video. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I can’t wait to camp by myself 🧡 thank you for sharing this video
this is great! really enjoy your videos and ideas to try. Thanks.
Such an amazing camping experience!!
'Glamping' rather than camping in Devon and Cornwall this summer! 🏕️
Just started watching your travel videos, these are so awesome
i love watching your solo trip videos!
Nice setup! I've got a 2021 Crosstrek that I've raised 2" and added all terrain tires and a skid plate. I steer away from the rooftop tents .. they are still tents .. get a cramp at night or have to pee and that ladder becomes a nightmare! I made a bed inside the Crosstrek and sleep in it. Much more secure and your Forester has enough room to do the same. I'm headed for Death Valley in a few days .. good time for there because the temps are perfect. 🤠 Something to add .. an old friend of mine from cycling days use to always carry an empty pistol holster .. never had a gun .. just displayed the holster. She never had a problem.
Roof top tents are awesome, in Australia they have been around for years! I definitely recommend the kings brand for a cost effective roof top tent, they are a great fold up size too!
That tent is awesome!!
Excellent video! You mention every important thing🙂
You're living the dream! I was looking into one of those stealth vans or ambulance builds and I would love to be plopped out in the middle of the dessert just chilling. I love that environment personally but super cool to and those shots of the setup look amazing!
0:06 Yes, i knew. most of the western half of the US is dry and somewhat arid.
but it is nice to see you excited about it ( :
I am very fond of some solar lights that I bought a few years ago. They work great and are great marker for my site when I'm at a campground.
Amazing set up!
This is beautiful.
That golden morning side-light at 10:45 🥰 ... I'm so jealous
Beautiful. Great camping
So funny, because I camped there in April after a two week Utah trip and it was on of the few places I felt uncomfortable. It was all in my head, but I thought I heard footsteps in the middle of the night around my truck! Also that clay is still everywhere 😂
So stunning! We would love to try that rooftop tent one day!
Love the extra chair idea 💡
I really love the place you are showing is absolutely beautiful ❤️.
That looks awesome and really nice.
*RAISE THE ROOF* !!!
this looks extremely peaceful..
My husband and I are the same way - we love deserts and feel so at home there even though we’re from the southeast. You should try Big Bend National Park in Texas. Absolutely amazing and so remote!
I've never heard of big bend national park in Texas! My sister just moved to Texas, so I'm trying to find a reason to tack on a few extra points of interest to make an incredibly compelling reason to visit. I'm going to see if the cards align to try Big Bend, thanks Katie! :)
I love the two chair tip!! You're videos are gorgeous :)
I just picked up a Subaru Forester WIlderness and watching your vidoes is giving me so many ideas!
You gotta check out the sand dunes in Oregon as well. Largest coastal ones! Took some of my favorite shots there.
This is amazing
Great safety tip and awesome video!
That's not lazy, that's good eatin' right there.. hope it tastes as good as it looked.
Been there the hot springs is amazing also
This looks Super cool
You’re in my neck of the “woods” 😁 Great video ❤️
Superb tent, I like it.
Amazing video as always! :)
Gorgeous
You just gave me an idea for my next adventure ❤️❤️
I love your videos Allison!!
top notch quality
You are the interesting person ☺️
I watch your video. Thanks 🙏
Beautiful
Thanks dear for inspiring me
Love the drone footage! Every video is such high quality, how have you not gone super viral lol
I have a solo camping trip along the northern california and Oregon coast planned. Totally doing the two chair safety tip but I’m also staying in state parks right by the bathrooms which is another safety tip.
It’s a goal for me to camp by myself. So far, I’ve only done camping once with friends lol
It's really excellent ❤️
Great tips even for us guys.
I looked at a roof top tent but I just wasn’t confident enough to have to get out of my tent to get into my car if I was afraid. I can’t say that in my travels as a solo female (even though I’m married) that I’ve been in a situation that I was really afraid of humans. I’ve been more afraid of snakes, spiders or mice (I live in Australia) so being in a roof top tent would actually help that. Inspired by you, I did what you’ve done and built in my car but it wasn’t very expensive and I didn’t modify the car. Maybe I’ll look at getting a roof top tent for summer. I follow another guy who does have both inside and roof top and that works for him especially in winter. Thanks for inspiring me to start my own channel - Kim Connolly and for giving me the confidence to travel on my own. I love your work.
I'm from Bangladesh and i love your video. I have been watching your video since 2018. Your video is so cool. I love it even though i haven’t never missed your any video. ❤
That is a good experience campaign in a desert 🏜
*Visuals on point*
Thanks!
Always like your video ❤️
Love the set up which awning do you have seems perfect for my outback. Thanks!
Great idea with the chair for solo travel. Another tip I’ve heard is to bring a pair of mens shoes/boots to leave outside/on the dash.
So far: Sedona, Grand Canyon, Grand Teton, West Yellowstone (yes, I went alone :) Next: different places around Oregon, then hopefully, Yosemite and Sequoia Nat’l Park. You’re an inspiration! I ❤️ the desert too. I’d like to mount a roof rack and get one of those tents. Looks so fun!
Ah Leah that sounds so fun! I was just out west a little while ago on a trip too, but didn't hit all those spots. Anywhere in particular you'd recommend the most?
@@moneybee I left out Bryce (Navajo loop trail) so, that and the Jenny Lake trail to Hidden Falls at Grand Teton were my favorites. And, the falls at Yellowstone Grand Canyon was spectacular! Driving from Grand Teton to the south gate at Yellowstone was only about 30 minutes. There’s just so many awesome places to see! Hope you can get out there soon.
@@toliveischrist950 Ahh I was just at Bryce! I did the fairyland trail there! I had no idea The Tetons were so close to Yellowstone, that's so cool!
can imagine another benefit is getting away from the ground poisonous animals and it feels a little safer
That's the first thing that popped into my mind when I seen she tents on top of her car ha
Mens size 12 is a good thing to have setting out too.
Looking so pretty.God bless you and your family
its wonderful. I would love to do this❤️
So great to find another woman solo camping. You go!
Looks very peaceful. I don't have a desire to get a rooftop tent, which is good, my roof racks would not support that weight. But that experience would be really cool.
Wow nice place from Philippines 🇵🇭
I will be camping in Polish mountains - Tatras
Loved these mountains. Is it Zakopane you're going to?
Pięknie!
A sister solo Camper said she keeps mend boots outside her tent as an extra safety measure. Like the two chairs, too.
What a beautiful place to camp! You always have the best videos! Your propane grill: do you know if it’s powerful enough to boil water?
Thank you! And yes, I've boiled water on it. It's a great little stove!
That things pretty sweet. My car doesn’t have things on top for a rack or anything or I would totally look at investing in one of those.
If you had a garage I bet you could make a hoist system to take it on and off the top. Then you could store it up there above the car too.
How do you use the bathroom or wash up in the desert? Tips please!
