Bobbie Nelson didn’t get anywhere near the recognition she deserved. Her piano work was brilliant. Glad to see Amanda Shires recorded with, two musicians at the top of their craft.
I've heard that Bobbie wanted all of the attention to go to Willie and shied away from any sort of accolades or self promotion. She was a beautiful soul and an incredible musician who really understood her craft.
These songs were intended for Amanda Shires new album but Bobbie insisted they went on her album.
Isn't it amazing when you have loved a song since a child, in different iterations, but then the right people can make it *so* new again?
Lovely rendition, and so wonderful to hear Bobbie again. Was so heartbroken when she passed.
You are a musical force to be reckoned with Amanda. Your “take it like a man” record is without blinking one of the best records put out in the last year and now this with Bobby …everything you touch turns to gold these days. Can’t wait to hear this whole album when it comes out.

Really love this project with you, Bobbie, and Willie singing in the background, Amanda. One of my favorite songs you picked to showcase with Bobbie. Her gentle spirit shines through as she plays the piano for this simple and yet most lovely song. Sounds just beautiful and love watching Bobbie and you play, laugh and smile together. Music connects and intertwines your hearts.

Very nice, I used to lay on our living room floor listening to Willie and Waylon. I knew my 2x Grandparents knew Bob wills and this music is I. Line with our TX lifestyle. Bobbie’s piano deserves its spot in the TX museum.

So much right on this! The tribute, of course is deeply felt and righteous. The musical treatment is spot on, and maybe the best take on this song I've ever heard. And of course, getting Willie in on the vocals just takes it over the top.
