    • @PosingwithPeter
      @PosingwithPeter  3 года назад +1

      Absolutely, what helps me prevent them from twirling around is being mindful of the pose itself and placing their limbs against the back wall of the cabinet.
      For Thor / Superman / Dr Strange, their vertical hovering poses are carefully leaned against the back glass of the cabinet. For Mando, his extended right leg / boot is also pressed up against the back glass panel of the cabinet therefore keeping him in place.

      Ayyy Kirbaybey! Always a pleasure seeing ya in the comments 😊
      Hahaha I just imagined Superman twirling in circles 😂 Fortunately the figure does not spin around since the pose prevents that from happening -- his right arm (elbow) is pushed against the back glass of the cabinet and his hind leg (right foot) also presses up against the glass so he remains suspended in place 😁 👍

      It never hurts to ask ☺️
      As it turns out I haven't ever wired up my own figure's cape -- normally in my videos I've just used black twist-ties on belts and shoulder straps to prop up loose capes so that they have a wired appearance. Superman's cape in particular is indeed a wired cape but I bought it like that from a friend / fellow collector.
      Do you know of Terry Smith from Sideshow Collectibles? In addition to posing videos, he also has his own channel and he made a brief guide on making wired capes using hobby wire & tape. I hope this helps:

    Hey !! welcome back peter thank you again for another awesome tutorial :) some really usefull tips there , though one question if i may can the wire used for the substitute clamp on the display pole can it be utilized as a cradle to stand a figure ? i have the MOS superman and i plan on displaying him standing instead of floating is it possible ?

    • @PosingwithPeter
      @PosingwithPeter  3 года назад +1

      Hey again James! As usual, it's great to see ya in the comments, and thanks for the warm welcome back ☺️
      Of course you can ask a question! Regarding your MoS Superman figure in a standing pose, that's actually a really good point you bring up haha... now I wish I would've mentioned that in the video 😅 But yes, I absolutely think that the self-made hook method can work fine as a cradle instead of having the default clamp dig into his suit. You just might need to really tighten the self-made hook when you wrap it around the clamp so that it's not super loose to slide down the dynamic pole.
      I'd say give it a try and please lemme know how it works out! As always, thanks for watching & commenting 😊

      Aw thanks so much for your kind words & support! I appreciate you reading the description box about the lame ads too 😅
      As it turns out I don't really take photos of the creases in particular on my figures but they sometimes show up in my pose pics on Instagram. For example it's hard to see clearly but in the photo of Iron Spider hunched over the dead outrider, you can see a crease in his left shoulder if you zoom in -- that crease is pretty permanent from his previous pose of hitching a ride with Mjolnir. I'm sure his hunched-over pose will have ugly creases on his crotch area too from the aggressive bend but I don't really mind since these poses are a lot of fun to create & display, so for me it's worth it 😅

      If you’re going to suspend your Man of Steel figure from a string in a hovering pose, you simply remove the head sculpt and tie the thread around the neck peg then put the head back onto the neck peg.

    I need to know, in all honesty, before I do this; has this damaged any of the figures after any extended period of time? Have the belts or attachment points, when posing in cabinets caused issues with the figures or their clothing, attachments, anything like that? Please let me know as I have been plans to do something like this very soon but want all the facts first. Thanks a lot for the video and I really look forward to hearing from you.

    I want to pose Captain Marvel in flight, but I don’t think her belt-ish thing will support a hook. Do you think her suit would be ok with some kind of harness made of fishing line? Don’t want to damage her.

    • @PosingwithPeter
      @PosingwithPeter  Год назад

      I’ve actually had my Captain Marvel hovering for a few months - you are correct that her belt & suit are a bit too delicate for any harness / rigging system. Instead I popped off the head sculpt and tied string/sewing thread very tightly around the actual neck peg, then simply popped the head back on and voila - vertical hovering pose without damaging the suit.
      Hope that helps, happy posing!

    Doesn’t the weight eventually damage the fabric over time ?

    • @PosingwithPeter
      @PosingwithPeter  2 года назад +1

      It’ll ultimately depend on the figure itself along with where exactly the thread is tied to the body / belt / joint / suit etc. I kept my figures floating for months and found no damage when I inspected them upon packing & moving not too long ago. Just gotta be extra mindful of how to suspend the figure.
