Every iphone I've had I would keep for 3-4 years but that was only because of them running too slowly with the iOS. SE still runs quickly. The only thing I don't like is the front camera quality.

I can tell my phone isn’t what it used to be. My battery capacity is 88% within one year and while Apple estimates 10% loss every year in capacity I feel like the extra 2% is alarming. I haven’t utilized WiFi when i should to save on battery wear. I feel like the better processor and lord willing a better battery will suffice. Im on board definitely. Obvs by using my se I’m not trying to keep up with the joneses but the se 2 potential perks will entice me to buck up literally 💰💰💰
O 285 umm the SE I have is used and I bought it Idk for how long but this phone is still kicking ass and I can safely say that it hasn’t slowed down still runs as it used to, I just clean it up once in while.

Wireless headphones are crap dude... only 255kbps max audio quality via Bluetooth....you could get 999kbps through the jack. That is 400% better that the AirPod Pros. Which are also crap compared to any 3.5mm headphone

Skull Dude at that point I would just wait for the 12 to come out in September, apparently there is going to be a MAJOR design refresh. Smaller/possibly no notch, a nice navy blue color, more ram than we have seen in a iPhone yet. I’ve seen one report about solid state batteries as a possibility, which would give the iphones (given if the battery took up the same amount of space) would have up to a 30 hour screen on time, which is absurd, and would also mean battery degradation would be non-existent.
Even though they say apple is overpriced calculator. But most phone now lasts only 2-3 years and then the support is not available anymore. But if you bought an iPhone now surely it has a solid 5 years of update. And still works like mint. Because iPhone don’t have viruses pre loaded that an Android users have.

Meh, I like wireless. My headphones last a full day on one charge and I would be damned if I had to deal with those wires. They tangle in your pockets n shit. Takes forever to untangle them, with my big fingers. And the quality hasn’t really changed much imo.
JustnwiN unless you really loved the design, i think that was the only best option for you. I still using my ip6 beside my ip8+ and it still hella great, so smooth no lag (except maybe high intensive game, otherwise for daily usage it run flawlessly) so i think upgrading from ip7 to ip9 doesnt really do much (not if ip9 doesnt improve battery life, way begter camera, or something like that)

JustnwiN does the bad antenna include wifi antenna too? My ip6 was having wifi problem where moving one room away from my router will make my phone disconnected from wifi. It turn out that my ip6 wifi module are broken and replacing it solved the problem, but i know that doing this in ip7 will make ip7 arent waterproof anymore (ip6 wasnt even waterproof to begin with so i just changed battery and wifi module with ease). For normal condition ip7 are still great phone, but with the problems you told me, maybe upgrading to ip9 was the best choice, hope you really liked it when apple released on march
Nur Hazbiy I still can use the phone one wifi. But when I did have my SIM card in I also could not send text in iMessage make phone calls or face time. It would die at 60%. Ever since I’ve been just using it on wifi, I’ve never had the dying early issue. The battery still drains fast.
Finally an Apple related RUclips channel that understands that many people are not upgrading their phone, because they're not willing to overpay for "features" they don't even want. Great video! I'm still using the iPhone 6 and the only improvements I want are a better camera, a faster processor, a better battery and maybe a better display in terms of resolution and hz. I absolutely DON'T want a missing home button or headphone jack, wireless charging and FaceID. In addition Apple should finally make it easier to make a backup on a Windows Pc.

In July 2014 my wife and I became parents. That fall we both bought new iPhone 6. Then the reality of how expensive quality child care is sank in. Since then we haven’t bought any new electronics that are more than about $100. The only exceptions were two reconditioned iPhone 6 and one iPhone 8. These purchases were made because our phones died. Why do I still use my iPhone 6? It can surf the web, run apps, email, take photos and videos, send texts and make phone calls. I don’t have $800 begging to be spent on a brand new iPhone. This iPhone 9 may finally get me to shift some funds around. ☺️

No, it’s because people wanted the se/ 5 size with a 9 chip, many people feel like the size of the newer models are too big so they demanded for the iPhone 5 size with a 6 chps- Apple made the SE. Now again people want the same size with a more compatible phone.

My favourite thing about the SE is it’s size. Anything I’m bigger and I’m not really interested. Plus it has a headphone jack. I’m keeping this for as long as possible
Sure the design is from 2017 but the specs are very well recent such as the A13 Bionic Chip from the iPhone 11 (their most recent processor) and the camera from the iPhone 11 as well.
It's not the hardware. It's the hardware, software and services. If you can get iPhone at low price, you can get access to their ecosystem. Like being a scholar in a big university even if you're poor

Oh my gosh! Having a same form factor as iPhone 8 will be a sad demise of industrial design language of iPhone 5, 5S and SE. My dad is still on 5S and is adamant to not switch to any other iPhone just because of its form factor which is so comfortable to use in one hand. But here’s also a thing that you need to know about India is that it’s NOT A LOW PAYING JOB country - by no means at all. In fact, cost of living index in India is higher than that in The States. An avenger middle class Indian is loving quite high on the hog compared to an average middle class American. Even then, iPhones are now pretty ubiquitous in India given its lot expensive here than in the US. While the first $1000 iPhone in America was iPhone X, Indians have been paying $1000+ for iPhone for far longer than in The States. On top of that, Apple is not giving any tax benefit to Indian customers for the iPhones that are made in India. So, it doesn’t make any sense for you to say that Indians would get cheaper iPhone just because Apple start manufacturing newer iPhones in India that would give them tax benefits.

Душан Павловић I have the XR & to me there’s no comparison to how iPhone FEELS & PERFORMS everyday functions in comparison to android. Plus the probability of getting a virus on an iPhone is very very low. That’s a huge plus for me.

Better be a 1080p display. It would be cool if Apple made a 1440p display but I heard that due to the formate or coding of Apple software it can’t view content beyond 1080p and that could probably explain why their phones never have as high resolution compared to Samsung flagships.
This is gonna take over the iPhone XR as the most common phone in my school lmao I actually prefer Face ID over Touch ID, going from 6 plus to XR, and larger screens even if I’m small because I can type easier. Not sure if I’m the only one who’s thought about this, but since this iPhone likely won’t have 3D Touch, you’ll lose the ability to hard press the far left of the screen for multitask gesture. To me it’s faster and feels better than double pressing the home button. It’s a feature I use all the time, so I just wanted to point that out in case anyone else uses it. I still think it’ll be a great budget iPhone though👍

Depends on what you need. I have an iPad 4 which came out in 2012. It streams video, you can read on it and play games. Why get a new one? Same thing goes for phones, if you just need to take some pics, make a few calls, send some texts, stream RUclips, etc. Phones like iPhone 7 and 8 are just fine. So this makes sense
Damian Whiteman The main reason to upgrade is security, they eventually stop updating the OS and it could be vulnerable to hacking. Another reason is app makers stop updating the apps for old OS and new apps won’t work.

That’s funny because in the US the S20 ultra is $1,400 for 128gb, and the 11 pro max 128gb is $1,200. S20 plus in 128gb is also $1,200 here. Crazy that the iPhone is more expensive there than s20’s.

Meh, I like wireless. My headphones last a full day on one charge and I would be damned if I had to deal with those wires. They tangle in your pockets n shit. Takes forever to untangle them, with my big fingers. And the quality hasn’t really changed much imo.

This is the perfect phone for me. I had the iPhone 7 and my favorite part was touch ID. I have been using a Samsung s9
JustnwiN unless you really loved the design, i think that was the only best option for you. I still using my ip6 beside my ip8+ and it still hella great, so smooth no lag (except maybe high intensive game, otherwise for daily usage it run flawlessly) so i think upgrading from ip7 to ip9 doesnt really do much (not if ip9 doesnt improve battery life, way begter camera, or something like that)

JustnwiN does the bad antenna include wifi antenna too? My ip6 was having wifi problem where moving one room away from my router will make my phone disconnected from wifi. It turn out that my ip6 wifi module are broken and replacing it solved the problem, but i know that doing this in ip7 will make ip7 arent waterproof anymore (ip6 wasnt even waterproof to begin with so i just changed battery and wifi module with ease). For normal condition ip7 are still great phone, but with the problems you told me, maybe upgrading to ip9 was the best choice, hope you really liked it when apple released on march
Nur Hazbiy I still can use the phone one wifi. But when I did have my SIM card in I also could not send text in iMessage make phone calls or face time. It would die at 60%. Ever since I’ve been just using it on wifi, I’ve never had the dying early issue. The battery still drains fast.

I'm still using the iPhone 6 and the only improvements I want are a better camera, a faster processor, a better battery and maybe a better display in terms of resolution and hz.
I absolutely DON'T want a missing home button or headphone jack, wireless charging and FaceID.

In July 2014 my wife and I became parents. That fall we both bought new iPhone 6. Then the reality of how expensive quality child care is sank in. Since then we haven’t bought any new electronics that are more than about $100. The only exceptions were two reconditioned iPhone 6 and one iPhone 8. These purchases were made because our phones died.
Why do I still use my iPhone 6? It can surf the web, run apps, email, take photos and videos, send texts and make phone calls. I don’t have $800 begging to be spent on a brand new iPhone.
This iPhone 9 may finally get me to shift some funds around. ☺️

Sure the design is from 2017 but the specs are very well recent such as the A13 Bionic Chip from the iPhone 11 (their most recent processor) and the camera from the iPhone 11 as well.

Oh my gosh! Having a same form factor as iPhone 8 will be a sad demise of industrial design language of iPhone 5, 5S and SE.
My dad is still on 5S and is adamant to not switch to any other iPhone just because of its form factor which is so comfortable to use in one hand.
But here’s also a thing that you need to know about India is that it’s NOT A LOW PAYING JOB country - by no means at all. In fact, cost of living index in India is higher than that in The States. An avenger middle class Indian is loving quite high on the hog compared to an average middle class American. Even then, iPhones are now pretty ubiquitous in India given its lot expensive here than in the US. While the first $1000 iPhone in America was iPhone X, Indians have been paying $1000+ for iPhone for far longer than in The States. On top of that, Apple is not giving any tax benefit to Indian customers for the iPhones that are made in India. So, it doesn’t make any sense for you to say that Indians would get cheaper iPhone just because Apple start manufacturing newer iPhones in India that would give them tax benefits.

Well, my Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite broke down, so now I need to get a new phone. I was thinking about getting either iPhone XR or Samsung A80. For me stuff like the headphone jack and fingerprint sensor don't play much of a role, but rather whether the phone looks nice, and the camera quality as well. Which one should I get?
XR...it’s still really good and you can use it longer than the Samsung...(with updates and stuff)
Душан Павловић I have the XR & to me there’s no comparison to how iPhone FEELS & PERFORMS everyday functions in comparison to android. Plus the probability of getting a virus on an iPhone is very very low. That’s a huge plus for me.

Better be a 1080p display. It would be cool if Apple made a 1440p display but I heard that due to the formate or coding of Apple software it can’t view content beyond 1080p and that could probably explain why their phones never have as high resolution compared to Samsung flagships.

Not sure if I’m the only one who’s thought about this, but since this iPhone likely won’t have 3D Touch, you’ll lose the ability to hard press the far left of the screen for multitask gesture. To me it’s faster and feels better than double pressing the home button.
It’s a feature I use all the time, so I just wanted to point that out in case anyone else uses it. I still think it’ll be a great budget iPhone though👍

Which is not in the case of iPhone, and this information is based on iPhone used my colleague in my office. He needs to change twice a day as he is playing games and watch online content. Depends on what you need. I have an iPad 4 which came out in 2012. It streams video, you can read on it and play games. Why get a new one? Same thing goes for phones, if you just need to take some pics, make a few calls, send some texts, stream RUclips, etc. Phones like iPhone 7 and 8 are just fine. So this makes sense
Damian Whiteman The main reason to upgrade is security, they eventually stop updating the OS and it could be vulnerable to hacking. Another reason is app makers stop updating the apps for old OS and new apps won’t work.
