The spanish inquisition wasn't what people believes, specially compared to other countries, like the french inquisition:
check for instance Loudun case in France compared with San Plácido's in Spain, similar cases of possession solved in very different ways, the french inquisitors burned everybody, the spanish inquisitors didn't believe a word about some devil's actions there...
and certainly it's far from the horrors unleashed by Lutheranism and Calvinism, check numbers or particular appalling cases, like Miguel Servet's, the spanish guy that discovered the lung's blood circulation. He was dropout from France (not Spain), went to Geneva (not Spain) and there he was burned...
So yeah, blame Spain for everything 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Myth: The Inquisition would make frequent use of disfiguring torture.
Truth: Torture was a standard method of "justice" at the time, with secural courts making fequent use of the practice, and some going as far as insisting that justice was not served unless torture was employed.
The Inquisition by contrast was only allowed to use torture once, and for a period of time not exceeding 15 minutes. Inquistors would never take part in the application of torture. Further children, pregnant women, the infirm and the very old were not allowed to be tortured.
The kind of torture that was used could not maim, scar, or dismember the victim, nor could any torture be life threatening.
Finally, torture was used infrequently, and when it was the victim would be shown the instrument of his torture and given the opportunity to confess.

I'm not saying the Spanish Inquisition wasn't horrible, just clearing that it wasn't the worst, probably by far.

This artifact was first mentioned in the XIX century, and the ones made, especially the one from Nuremberg, had no spikes and were made just based on written descriptions of dubious origins. There were no Iron Maidens during the middle ages and certainly not during the Spanish Inquisition which was legally terminated in in 1834. Your graphics are good, but your info is not.

So much historical inaccuracy here. It's sad how many people have been fooled by this video's misinformation, judging by the most upvoted comments.
    While this video makes some valid points, it gets a lot of things wrong. Here's some of this video's biggest problems;
    * The Spanish Inquisition was founded in the 15th century, not the 12th like other Inquisitions. Pope Alexander's decree didn't apply to the Spanish Inquisition, which was distinct from the other Inquisitions.
    * It mattered a great deal whether the confessions were real or false.
    * Death from torture and drawing blood were also prohibited.
    * They did not use or invent the Iron Maiden.
    * The Spanish Inquisition lasted 354 years.
    * Few people tried by the Spanish Inquisition were executed. Most were either just fined or imprisoned.
    * People tried by the Spanish Inquisition could name those with a grudge against them, and that testimony would be dismissed as revenge-mongering.

The title is "Spanish Inquisition", but it's misleading. Most of the video describes the procedures of other inquisitorial institutions, like the Roman or the French, and even protestant. Each country inquisition was different, in time, procedures, brutality... In Spain, only 2% of cases ended in death sentence. Torture was documented and monitored by a surgeon to make sure no permanent damage was done, and no more than a certain amount of time. Some of those apparatus weren't used in Spanish Inquisition, and the seizing assets practice was done mainly in Center Europe.

The Spaniards did not exterminate any aboriginal nation - as dozens of them exterminated our ancestors the English
"Between Cape Horn and the North Pole there was not a bad English hovel nor a single son of England, Spain [...] He bled for a conquest so huge that even today no nation could give men or money necessary to put the company at the level of global progress [...] ".
Charles F. Lummis (USA, 1854-1928), historian.
"The world owes (Spain) to have achieved the recovery of Spain for Christian Europe during the Reconquest. As well as the extension of Western culture in its Spanish version to the rest of the world from the Discovery of America. Also the first outbreaks of international law and the defeat of Napoleonic imperialism ».

All countries had Inquisitions but not from Church, just the rulers:
The torture was allways with a doctor.
And in Spain there were no more than 100 people burned.
The rack was used in London at first and wasn't invented until 1420.
No way of torture was used that inquisitors imagine.
Bro the creator of the video had a lot of imagination with the Boot, thumscrew and the breast ripper.
Another more that was invented after 400 years of inquisition: Judas chair in 16th century.
Bro I'm not going to talk about Heretic fork because you will laught and as say before no more than 100 mens were burned.
And the Iron maiden was invented in 18th century.
Realy. Have you said that after they were inocent they were killed?
Now you are saying that terrorist are because Inquisition?
