Brilliant! I know this is a bit of an old video to comment on, but in my opinion, this is far and away the best percussion arrangement ever made, and is entire orders of magnitude better than the original organ version (giving credit to what amazing musicians organists are, of course. Seriously, go talk to an organist. They are fascinating critters.). Though quieter than an organ, marimbas give far more life to Bach's melodic lines, and in this rendition's part writing, feel more creative as well. For how generally overplayed this piece is, this feels nowhere near a gimmick, and in fact sounds perfectly fitting. I'd like to add how brilliantly this is recorded as well. The placement of the two marimbas in a V shape with the microphones, causing an echo-ey effect on the call and response portions where one of them is closer to the mics and the other farther away, creates an entire layer of depth to the soundscape. As a person with a heart of jazz, this recording reinvigorated me with excitement for classical music. I hope to one day play this with someone in college...
I’ve watched this probably ten times. It think it’s the best version on RUclips. Not to mention both of your dynamics and cooperation with each other is amazing. You must’ve spent 100’s of hours practicing.
Duuuuuude I watched a concert last night with organ and timpani playing this, epic. Phenomenal. Each musician that's so so good makes it their own kind of tribute to Bach and music over all. Love it, thanks for posting! My wife might go nuts with all the variations of this piece I've been playing lol
I'd love to see more baroque music played and interpreted by you, like the Chaccone or the Great fugue in G minor would make a great listening experience. Keep up the good work!
Excelent sincronisation! It seems each of you played one in G clef and other in F clef, corresponding to keyboards hands. Just my impression. Marimba is a kind of music-therapy.
Of course I have heard it. But that's the first time I cried to it.
This is such a wonderful compliment, thank you!

I fully agree with your compliments.
But, ik can be performed less letterly, bit more swinging then it does.
J.S. Bach ìs swinging.....
This is one of the best performances of this piece I've heard, ever, and certainly the best percussion performance. I hope you both are doing well.
Thanks, that’s so kind of you! 🙏🏻 We hope you are well, too.
Awesome!

Never thought percussion could be so harmonious, intense and expressive, and the rubato is so tasteful. Great performance!
Thank you so much - what a lovely compliment!

@@raultifrea5549 Will do! Ksenija already has a version of the Chaconne available online here: ruclips.net/video/_Gi8De8d-Zw/видео.html

There is no instrument in this god forsaken world , which could not make the part starting at 3:31 sound absoludly marvelous .
Bach was a genius indeed!

Hvala, Janja!
This is stunning, almost makes me wan't to stop being an organist and go into pitched percusion.
Dr. Foxlore, thank you for the kind comment! It is a great compliment that an organist finds this to be a successful version. :)
Dr. Foxlore Do both

Yeah, really sounds dark: Magic.

💜💜💜
can i know the model of the mallets?
Jesus Christ those balkan names are ghastly a K before an S oh my lol, anyways well done with this.
mallets used?
Abe's and Myćka's (for Kiril's bass mallet)!
The fugue sounds amazing, but Toccata just doesn’t fit marimba, maybe vibraphone.
Thanks! We see what you mean, but our commitment stays strong - we gotta take the good with the challenging parts of our instrument. :)
