I love painting flowers too. It's my go-to when I just want to put some paint on paper. Directional lines and calligraphy make such a huge difference. It really ups your watercolor game, unless you get the lines wrong, which I tend to do sometimes. Then it creates dissonance. I'll look at my piece and know something is wrong without pinpointing exactly what. This tutorial was very helpful for me. I saved it to a playlist for future reference.
Totally inspiring, you make it so easy to follow and give clear reasons on why, and where you are putting the brush strokes, will definitely be watching more 😊
I love how you block the color , only this and you make the flower , love this tutorial!!! What kind of texture paint you use to do the wet on wet? I have problem to find the paint texture on my plastic or metalic and time of how wet or not so wet my paper is , I think I was in the kindergarden of watercolor but I'm now in the pre school!!! I'm using celulose paper I hope I improve to a better paper and have more skill until the end of the year. Hugs from Brasil!!!!
Love this tutorial. But one bite of constructive criticism. I found it hard to actually see what you were doing since the camera is not overhead. Maybe it's my brain but I do think you should consider.
Hi Glenda :) Thank you so much for the feedback :) I always get my hands covering the paper when I do it overhead. But I'll consider another way - thank you :)
With each tutorial I learn and/or remember techniques that I know will help me as I delve into learning more about this style of painting. Thank you!
I am so glad to hear that you are working through the videos and keep learning from them all ❤️ that makes me so happy!

The texture of the paper is coldpress for the most times :) you can use quite a lot of water on it :)
