It's still insane how this video was made 20+ years after Homework came out and we're still finding samples of the songs used. Everything in this video is so professional and explains everything perfectly. I love it! Might need to update this with the recently discovered "Revolution 909" sample. Beautiful work regardless
This video goes to show that composing music like this is very difficult, let alone chopping Billy Joel up into dozens upon dozens of pieces and rearranging them in a way that sounds fire!
Fucking amazing video but I have one complaint For some reason no one has a sample for that one part in the 3rd loop of High fidelity. you know where it goes like "ah, e, a, brink" I've never seen a sample vid get that brink part. It's always very weird. But other than that this is like perfecto. A chef's kiss.
There a lot of samples undiscovered yet and really difficult to find. Maybe sometimes Daft Punk made some vocals to complete the loop, because for example they didn't find the right vocal in a sample, no one can know it!!
I’m pretty sure Ten Minutes of Funk also samples “Funky Penguin by Rufus Thomas” It’s the OOF sound in the background. I tried to submit it to whosampled but it was rejected.
The Burnin' baseline is very similar to Cresendolls. Would be Cresendolls a sequel of Burnin'? The same to Aerodynamic and Contact, the guitar arpeggio of Aerodynamic is very similar to the synthesizer part from Contact.
I spent a lot of time for the Daft Punk's video and put all the samples I could. I have some ideas for the future but for now I won't do another videos about Daft samples...
For what is known, the track Alive isn't really a remix of The New Wave, but a second version. They took the first song, modified it and inserted on Homework. ;-)
For some reason i always thought they went and recorded waves themselves, but of course it's a sample; after all they are from Paris, no near beaches there lol
Your video is now outdated. The sample for revolution 909 has been found (ruclips.net/video/n1JCp29QCfg/видео.html) and it's Fun Factory's "Celebration (Mousse T's Back to the Old School)" at 4:00
Some of the daft punk samples were actually taken from sample packs, not the original songs. Those sample packs include the edited (sped up, altered) versions.

daft punk: this is gold
Fun fact: "Da Funk" and "Dare" by gorillaz use the same busy sidewalk sample!
And dare sampled revolution 909
You can also hear it in a lot of TV series that are in NY, like Friends and Himym 😉
Actually dare sampled the same busy side walk as revolution 909
@@UnknownSaviour SAME THING
“Down there to the right.”
Although 'Homework' receives less critical acclaim than 'Discovery', this still shows how masterfully crafted DP's music was even in the early years.
This is exactly how I imagine two French robots from outer space would process a bunch of obscure disco records
Barry White obscure? Lmao
This is one of the most professional, clean and explanatory sample videos I’ve seen, you really need way more views and subs, great work
Thank you man! It's a really big support for me... 😉
I think that’s the best decomposition of High Fidelity I’ve seen!!
Thank you man!
High fidelity deserved this.
Dude, I seriously had no idea of the “Indo Silver Club (Part One)” sample! It really blew my mind!
Yes it's really strange!

Teachers by Daft Punk contains the sample from the intro of Leaders of the Men by Joy Division
Yes it's really similar even it isn't official. Thank you for the advice!
Discovery's samples are great but Homework's are sick!
the jump sample 🔥
It's incorrect
@@Guy-iv2hw Ah. it still is cool lol
Great video.
Basically Daftendirekt, is in fact the part of the live mix of Da Funk, it was even recorded on album from the live gig
I remember a lot of people claiming that Teachers had to be based on a sample of Freddie Mercury. Interesting to now hear it not being the case.
The guys really heard a 2 second clip from a Billy Joel song and went "Alright, we can make a WHOLE SONG out of this"
I never saw that second burnin sample
Joder tu canal debería tener más suscriptores 🛐🖤✨
It's like peeking behind the Wizard of Oz's curtain, but there are two dope french cats back there with all thier records out.
Actually, Revolution 909 samples Fun Factory - Celebration
Mousse T Remix
That last one “Funk aD” is pure humor
Guys, the main revolution 909 sample has been found. It's not Jump by Kris Kross, it's actually Mousse T
Yes true! Unfortunately this video is 2 years old and Is not updated, for now.. 🙌

Amazing deconstruction. You probably put as much effort into this as they did creating the tracks!

@Portadanx yeah that one, fookin pain mate.
they found it and its billy jeol the stranger
Oh, mind blown, of course De La Soul would sample Barry White for "De La Orgy"
Congratulations for your job

i was completely unaware that they sampled stuff
To be honest you deserve more attention then you are getting
Thank you really!

From what I understood, Alive is a remix of The New Wave, so what would the sampling that was done for that song look like?
For what is known, the track Alive isn't really a remix of The New Wave, but a second version. They took the first song, modified it and inserted on Homework. ;-)

Daft Punk keeps the speed of the sample, but with the same modifications of the sample, that is why you can’t get the right sound to it.
