Unfortunately what he doesn’t tell you is that if he were to only charge pheonix twice, he would be doing 15-20k more damage with a much bigger and deadlier AoE.
I've never played this build yet, but I'm a longtime D2 player from years ago. I know you said your claws weren't optimal, but The Scissors Quhab base is REALLY rough. They have a base speed of 0, versus Greater Talons having a base speed of -30. Basically it's like having 30% less ias, cuts the effect of your Burst of Speed more than in half. As far as I know all of the base damage comes from your boots and skill levels so Greater Talons just allow you to save on attributes while still giving the best attack speed. Either way thanks for the video! I was confused how the skills work to actually play this build, and I want to revisit the game and try this on Hardcore.
Yes the claws are trash. The best claws are GTs for the attack speed. But because I use BoS the claw base actually doesn’t matter. Because I hit the fastest attack speed breakpoint anyways. Which is 7 frames. With two GT claws, and no BoS you already hit a fast attack speed frame of 8. But in order to hit 7, even with GTs you need to run BoS. The only thing these claws have going for them are the utility skill of mind blast and fade. Plus the low requirements so I need no invested points in dex or str. Boot str req is where the kick dmg is calculated. So yes these are doing less dmg than say myrmidons but to be honest when the difference in dmg is 130k dmg per second vs 134K dmg per second, it still 1 shots monsters either way. Plus the main dmg dealer is the charges and not the physical kick dmg. This build carries no CB either. It’s about QOL for me. Run fast, kick fast, tons of life and mana steal, full res.
Also how do you not lose your charges after youve kicked ? Ive only played regular d2 so all this is new, i take it the 50% chance stacks to 100% not to lose charges ?
That is correct. With these new claws. Rune word Mosaic you do not lose charges. Because its 100% and when you kick it refreshes the charges. You have 15 seconds of down time before you lose them.
Nice showcase. You may want to investigate putting one point into dragon flight as well. This makes “travelling” from pack to pack way faster and sometimes saves the charges when finding monsters literally last second before timeout.
I tried DF and it was not as good or efficient as just running fast between the mobs. Because DF only does 1 kick. It would be nice however for PvP or if someone hostiles you. Instant tele stomp.
Interesting. I like DF exactly for telestomping the mobs. Has the advantage that I am always in the middle as AOE cast origin and the merc is with me. Then of course I switch to DT for the multiple hits. Feels a little more smooth to me, but feel free to ignore DF if it doesn’t work for you.
@@SebastianBohn DF is quite effective. Especially if you do not have Enigma yet, or You are rocking some sub optimal rare tri res boots with only 10% run speed mod on them. However I will say DF is not required by any means, its more of a preference/IF you dont have/want to use enigma choice. With that said Being able to "telestomp" without enigma, EARLY in the ladder is game changing to say the least, You can keep your merc alive and focus his attacks much better, again enigma completely negates the need for this, but enigma can elude you until late in the patch if you are SSF.
Glad I could help! It is/was a lot of fun to play. The sad thing is most people hate on it. And don’t like having Mosaics in their games. So just be aware. I think it’s one of the best solo builds in the game if you play SP.

Yes if I was HC I would go the Fade route, and also pump point into Weapon Block as that will clock melee attacks as well as spells. Getting that over 50% is good, and defiance merc for more added defense.

Yes, the time between the waves 3-4 is only longer because Baal will laugh once all the hydras are gone. So you have to wait for them to go away. You could mind blast there to hold charges, but its just easy enough to go outside the throne room as well. Yes, I suggested using Brandistock for the lower dmg to prevent your merc from killing monsters before you fully charge. Keeping the merc alive is no issue. Because of how fast mosaic levels everything, and how fast you move, he barely contributes to attacking other than the times you are building charges.

You use the 3rd charge of Phoenix? Interesting choice since you’re losing about 15k damage and tons of AoE. Did you actually play this build or just put the stats and gear you were told to put on it? Because I’m doing 56K with way more AoE and not having to go back for the lightning immunes, and I also don’t use a sunder.
Lol! Like the build is lacking in any AOE or DPS. The build is already OP. The reason for PS3 is that its safer, easier and less laggy and bight on the eyes. The clear speed difference is about zero.
Every season a new word comes out, it remains ladder only until After that season. Again, Once that season ends, that runeword becomes available to nonladder.
Can you tell me the order and each charge I should do to utilize all 6 please? Ex: phoenix 1, blade of ice 3, and etc? Also how did you get all your charges so quickly??
I got the charges up so quickly because I use burst of speed. So my attack speed is very high. I do 3 charges on all 6. For PS though, there is some debate. 1 charge PS is best for bosses and ubers in general, 2 charges in PS is the most dmg when you are light ing focused, but it really lags the game. 3 charged on PS, freezes monsters so it feels the most safe, it also doesn’t lag the game as much. Which is why I do that. But at the end of the day, it all doesnt matter, you do so much dmg anyway.

No problem! Glad you are back and finding the game again. This is the now the strongest most broken build in the game. For the charges to add, you need to land a hit with the charge skill, so it might take a few swings before landing a hit, but it only takes 3 successful hits to charge to level 3. You can't charge past 3, so extra hits won't hurt you. I charge them all at the same time because my build is tanky and setup to do so. I charge Claws of Thunder first, Then PS, Then FoF, then Blades. Lastly I do Tiger strike and Cobra strike. All charges to level 3.

Yes. You pop the final seal to release the last monster pack. Then mind blast the group. You only need 1 conversion. Then once you kill infector, everyone else in CS dies, except the converted monsters. The delay for them allows you to kick them and maintain your charge to Diablo.
Mosaic is needed really for this to work. So not that budget, but then other random gear could be used. Like shako or other, and another ammy over mara's etc. You can use Dragon Flight instead of enigma for Teleport.
I did start as a trapper. You would play through as a trapper until you get the claws to make mosaic. I was an infinity holding trapper for awhile because there was no Mosaic on NL. But once I traded for them, then I switched.
@@smalps-gaming to me, blades is basically able to be hammerdin like once you get amp dmg off of claws. The only gear requirement outside of normal gear (spirits etc) is just some claws I shop for in act 1 with amp dmg and a set with 2 open slots for ETH runes. Short of that nothing else really needed to be honest. Makes an easy transition into using mosaic. So what is your strategy for farming the runes you need? I’ve been blessed this season with everything dropping off cows with very very few runs.
It's a bit confusing for folks because of all the charges. It would seem like you do more DMG by just using Claws of Thunder, and PS2, because in character screen, it will just show your Lightning dmg, but if you run all 6 charges like me, it will show only the fire dmg on the sheet, or cold dmg, which appears much lower. Even in MaxRoll, it doesn't show/calculate the total dmg correctly. I should make a video on boss killing on P8, and record the seconds it takes and the HP the boss has, to calculate the actual total DMG/Second.
@@smalps-gaming more than likely it goes back to the method of hit detection. Pretty sure it has a buffer for it and 20 years ago they didn’t have that kinda dmg in mind. So more than likely buffer probably is slow with todays RPG mechanics in mind (1 million dmg plus like D4 etc).
@@kristopherleslie8343 Also, with the changes to NHD, and it being PER CAST, that changed the dmg per second a ton. So I think that is where all the dmg types are stacking. along with the 5 kicks in rapid succession.

@@gseries2567 correct. That is how mosaic works. You have 100% chance to NOT lose charges. So if you kick it resets the 15 second timer. So basically as long as you are kicking you never lose the charges.
You don’t need 6 charges on players 1 Bnet …which is how I play most of the time with that build it’s not very players friendly. I usually stack 3 and clear everything with no issues.
Yea you can clear players 1 with just 1 charge to be honest. But I stack all 6 always for the speed and QOL. Just run fast and kick. But obviously all in this video is P8.
I can tell by feel now. its hard to visually see it with the spinning charges, but playing enough you know what the charges are and if there is something lacking. Its quite easy to stack them when you are going to level 3 for all of them because you cannot over stack. The max is 3 so you can just make sure by hitting extra times.
@@dimitarangelkovski9877 As someone else suggested you can drop enigma if you arent a "target farmer" and pick up Dragon flight, or a claw set with it on them, and you wont even miss it. Some even run skullders for the MF.
They changed the mechanics of next hit delay, to be PER SKILL, PER CAST. before it was all skills with NHD, would be effected, so for example, you couldn't use two skills with NHD without them canceling each other out. So now, with all the multiple skills that this unleashes, they all hit, and do not interfere with NHD.

@@fmullet I'm sure it can do ubers pretty easily on a lower budget. I did it with this build and it was kinda easy. Still testing it to see if I can do it faster/better.
@@Threadz_By_Rizzo its ladder and single player only. You cannot make them in non ladder currently. But you can trade for them in non ladder as people will have them from season carry over. They ate expensive though!

because he does not have crafter/rare jewelry with FCR. Optimally you would want to do it that way and pick up the crafted gloves 2 MA 20 IAS and 10 CB. 3 life steal and 30 light res.
It will be like this , main charge is Phoenix strike and you chose witch dmg you will use Cold Fire or Light thatsa all! No need to charge all element ddmg it not fair to other classes character

Yea. The mini ubers are like instant dead in a second or two. Then uber trist, i use lifetap. Mephisto is the only one that takes longer because this has no CB. But it’s best to just switch setup to add CB in the build for ubers.
Yes. You are always blitzing. Have to run and kick to keep charges. But if you lose charges its like back to square 1. So I kinda understand that its a combined 100%. People would play it far less if it wasn’t 100%. The build is super OP, but there are things about the build that are just annoying enough that it keeps it on par. Like for example, if you were a nova sorc, you would already be farming while the mosaic is building charges. And in parties, its sometimes hard to maintain the charges unless you front run the group. Baal runs are not great either. So it really depends. I think its the strongest solo build for sure though.
I appreciate the in-depth responses and you make some great points. For shorter farms like Travincal / Pindle and so on it would make less sense to use because of the buildup, and the Baal run-back requirements etc also seem annoying. Also, not sure how effective a budget build would be (nice that it doesn't fall prey to immune monsters in any case though). Cheers homie.@@smalps-gaming
An idea for another vid is to show the mf variant of this build for people that like mf. Since mosaic is so strong it can sacrifice a fair bit of dmg for mf and still wreck enemies sufficiently well on p8. I've tried a 400mf setup where I replace the boots with 50mf war trav, soj/bul ring with a 38mf ring, all skillers and fhr sc (I didnt find the fhr to be needed as much unless i went to dangerous places such as worldstone keep) with 40mf gheed and 7mf+res sc to cap out the res, and I still killed everything pretty much with one dragon talon and for bosses and champions a few more on p8. Although I should say getting 7mf sc with good res to cap out the res is quite expensive and all res isn't necessary anyways, but it is a possible setup. One could skip the res if they only did cows for instance since res isn't really needed there but for baal runs lightning and poison res is good to have. Thanks man! Yes you could easily tone the build down and get more MF on the build. 200-300 MF is easy to get with Gheeds, Travs, Ring, and Ist/Topaz in the helm slot. That would not sacrifice much dmg at all either. The benefit of the build is clear speed, so you would likely need less MF and more focused on clearing everything fast. This build is a perfect SP build because it can solo everything very easily. It's actually not a very party friendly build because you need to front run in order to keep your charges up, other players would probably be annoyed, as well as if you can't kill anything like in some baal waves, you are stuck trying to maintain your charges. I find myself playing solo with this mostly.

I get that. I played LoD on M&K back in the day. For me, click to move was weird. But acceptable. But on console, the characters movement makes way more sense. Inventory management is not great on console though.
So much fun for everyone! TBH, this build is not good in a party, its hard for the mosaic to keep charges and has to front run. Taking away the enjoyment from everyone else 😬
it only works while standing still or attacking. That "walk" business works for all your other defense. This is so stupid, it should be 75% but they should also have a UI that tells you current charges. In fact take that UI and tell us How long we have BO before we die in HC eh?
Blizzards must rework Mosaic charges! Have idea to ddifrent element dmg charges cant work together it will be normal ddesigion , this build break all game clases andd assassins traps evrything!
The catch is the rolls, Multiple stats that can roll crap, and the optimal base is incredibly hard to get, even a sub optimal one is hard. Hence the sub-sub-optimal ones here. Been farming since the word dropped and i have found a single greater talon, with 3 to PS and that is the only staff mod stat on it. Finding one with the +3/+3/+3 is worth that Ber, Plus the Zod. Prices reflect that too.

What's the best number of kicks for you in players 8? And player 1?
The rule of thumb here is for speed purposes, you don’t want to max DT. And be stuck in kick animation for 7+ kicks. So just 1 point. 5 kicks

Flickering flame is on NL, Mosaic is not. All the rune words that were with FF are on NL and all the new rune words with Mosaic are not.

what's the strat with last monster in CS, just use mind blast on 1 monster in the final pack, does that mean it survives after the seals are broken?
Yes. You pop the final seal to release the last monster pack. Then mind blast the group. You only need 1 conversion. Then once you kill infector, everyone else in CS dies, except the converted monsters. The delay for them allows you to kick them and maintain your charge to Diablo.

Can you recommend a budget gear version of this build?
Mosaic is needed really for this to work. So not that budget, but then other random gear could be used. Like shako or other, and another ammy over mara's etc. You can use Dragon Flight instead of enigma for Teleport.
So how do you start off and level? I’m assuming a trapper?
I did start as a trapper. You would play through as a trapper until you get the claws to make mosaic. I was an infinity holding trapper for awhile because there was no Mosaic on NL. But once I traded for them, then I switched.

@@smalps-gaming to me, blades is basically able to be hammerdin like once you get amp dmg off of claws. The only gear requirement outside of normal gear (spirits etc) is just some claws I shop for in act 1 with amp dmg and a set with 2 open slots for ETH runes. Short of that nothing else really needed to be honest. Makes an easy transition into using mosaic.
So what is your strategy for farming the runes you need? I’ve been blessed this season with everything dropping off cows with very very few runs.

What is your dmg when you only Charge tiger strike?
I never charge just tiger strike. But that is maxed in my build. I always run the 6 charges for maximum fire power and leech!
It's a bit confusing for folks because of all the charges. It would seem like you do more DMG by just using Claws of Thunder, and PS2, because in character screen, it will just show your Lightning dmg, but if you run all 6 charges like me, it will show only the fire dmg on the sheet, or cold dmg, which appears much lower. Even in MaxRoll, it doesn't show/calculate the total dmg correctly. I should make a video on boss killing on P8, and record the seconds it takes and the HP the boss has, to calculate the actual total DMG/Second.
@@smalps-gaming more than likely it goes back to the method of hit detection. Pretty sure it has a buffer for it and 20 years ago they didn’t have that kinda dmg in mind. So more than likely buffer probably is slow with todays RPG mechanics in mind (1 million dmg plus like D4 etc).

When / how will the charges fall if you are using dual mosaic?
They drop after 15 seconds of not using the charges. Every time you kick and use the charges, the timer resets for another 15 seconds.

@@gseries2567 correct. That is how mosaic works. You have 100% chance to NOT lose charges. So if you kick it resets the 15 second timer. So basically as long as you are kicking you never lose the charges.
You don’t need 6 charges on players 1 Bnet …which is how I play most of the time with that build it’s not very players friendly. I usually stack 3 and clear everything with no issues.
Yea you can clear players 1 with just 1 charge to be honest. But I stack all 6 always for the speed and QOL. Just run fast and kick. But obviously all in this video is P8.

I can tell by feel now. its hard to visually see it with the spinning charges, but playing enough you know what the charges are and if there is something lacking. Its quite easy to stack them when you are going to level 3 for all of them because you cannot over stack. The max is 3 so you can just make sure by hitting extra times.

The weapon swap is for prebuffing. That is where you use the Battle Orders and Battle command skill from Call to Arms. Boosts your life and mana.

How did you get 6k attack rating without any charges?
1 point into claw mastery. All my plus to skill gear and MA skillers. Brings it to level 13. Plus some attack rating on the gear.
Attack rating with charges is 11k

That is what dual mosaic claws do. They give you 100% chance to NOT lose charges when using a finisher.

They changed the mechanics of next hit delay, to be PER SKILL, PER CAST. before it was all skills with NHD, would be effected, so for example, you couldn't use two skills with NHD without them canceling each other out. So now, with all the multiple skills that this unleashes, they all hit, and do not interfere with NHD.

Lots of str points come from Enigma, Anni and Torch. And boots
With a pair of fast claws you already reach the fastest frame with very little IAS from your gears. I don't see the point of BoS.
I don't have fast claws. and the BoS is for faster run walk. Moving from mob to mob is nicer. I play on console.

I farm Runes, Bases, and Charms. All things that don't require any MF.
You can MF with this character easily. Just gotta swap some gears around.

I'm confused as to why Trangs gloves for the FCR when Assassins' do better with IAS.
Its to hit 65 FCR for teleporting with Enigma.
Because since you'll be using enigma for teleport, you want the fcr so you aren't slow to die from mobs while in teleport.
because he does not have crafter/rare jewelry with FCR. Optimally you would want to do it that way and pick up the crafted gloves 2 MA 20 IAS and 10 CB. 3 life steal and 30 light res.

I changed my dragon talon to the square button. With it in X I would randomly pick up stuff as I was trying to kill things

Yea. The mini ubers are like instant dead in a second or two. Then uber trist, i use lifetap. Mephisto is the only one that takes longer because this has no CB. But it’s best to just switch setup to add CB in the build for ubers.

This is cooked and feels pretty broken. Claws should be 25% or 33% each rather than 50%. Also seems kind of stressful to play (keeping charges up) lol
Yes. You are always blitzing. Have to run and kick to keep charges. But if you lose charges its like back to square 1. So I kinda understand that its a combined 100%. People would play it far less if it wasn’t 100%. The build is super OP, but there are things about the build that are just annoying enough that it keeps it on par. Like for example, if you were a nova sorc, you would already be farming while the mosaic is building charges. And in parties, its sometimes hard to maintain the charges unless you front run the group. Baal runs are not great either. So it really depends. I think its the strongest solo build for sure though.
I appreciate the in-depth responses and you make some great points. For shorter farms like Travincal / Pindle and so on it would make less sense to use because of the buildup, and the Baal run-back requirements etc also seem annoying. Also, not sure how effective a budget build would be (nice that it doesn't fall prey to immune monsters in any case though). Cheers homie.@@smalps-gaming
An idea for another vid is to show the mf variant of this build for people that like mf. Since mosaic is so strong it can sacrifice a fair bit of dmg for mf and still wreck enemies sufficiently well on p8. I've tried a 400mf setup where I replace the boots with 50mf war trav, soj/bul ring with a 38mf ring, all skillers and fhr sc (I didnt find the fhr to be needed as much unless i went to dangerous places such as worldstone keep) with 40mf gheed and 7mf+res sc to cap out the res, and I still killed everything pretty much with one dragon talon and for bosses and champions a few more on p8. Although I should say getting 7mf sc with good res to cap out the res is quite expensive and all res isn't necessary anyways, but it is a possible setup. One could skip the res if they only did cows for instance since res isn't really needed there but for baal runs lightning and poison res is good to have.

Thanks man! Yes you could easily tone the build down and get more MF on the build. 200-300 MF is easy to get with Gheeds, Travs, Ring, and Ist/Topaz in the helm slot. That would not sacrifice much dmg at all either. The benefit of the build is clear speed, so you would likely need less MF and more focused on clearing everything fast. This build is a perfect SP build because it can solo everything very easily. It's actually not a very party friendly build because you need to front run in order to keep your charges up, other players would probably be annoyed, as well as if you can't kill anything like in some baal waves, you are stuck trying to maintain your charges. I find myself playing solo with this mostly.

I get that. I played LoD on M&K back in the day. For me, click to move was weird. But acceptable. But on console, the characters movement makes way more sense. Inventory management is not great on console though.

Weapon block works when your sin is toggled to walk. You don't have to be standing still.

it only works while standing still or attacking. That "walk" business works for all your other defense. But most people don't understand that whenever you are attacking or casting any spell in the game, you are standing still. you cannot cast or attack AND run at the same time.

Ah I remember now , it maybe had something to do with whirlwind cast movement. I think while you whirlwind you can still weapon block. Not sure if run/walk even effects this.

Nah it's fine. If anything they should add more endgame content similar to ubers. It's a great PvM addition that doesn't affect pvp at all.

The catch is the rolls, Multiple stats that can roll crap, and the optimal base is incredibly hard to get, even a sub optimal one is hard. Hence the sub-sub-optimal ones here. Been farming since the word dropped and i have found a single greater talon, with 3 to PS and that is the only staff mod stat on it. Finding one with the +3/+3/+3 is worth that Ber, Plus the Zod. Prices reflect that too.
