    Everyone should be learning from the 3008 boot space, it's simplicity and the cabin is lovely.

    Great review Bob. I think that is the 2013 model. We are looking at buying a 2014 in Portugal. A few things are different on the car. It has a lot of cubby holes also that you didn't mention (time I know). Under floor in the back seats for instance. Spaces everywhere but a pretty useless glove box. Well, gloves after its name is about all it will take. We are having traction control so you lose a cup holder which is annoying. They could have put it somewhere else. It seems it was an afterthought. The central cool box is fantastic. You can loose your entire arm in it it is so deep. Great for sandwiches and drinks on very long drives. Hinging at the back would have been so much more sensible as is on my current 407SW. Seats are a bit short I fear for long distance driving. They remind me of my 205GTI. I got used to that in the end We do 2 eight hour driving shifts to Cannes every 3 months with a full load. I will have to do a long road test in one before buying to see if it is a problem.
    Why doesn't any reviewer mention the spare tyre? If I am up a big mountain in the middle of the night I want to know where it is! I can see I will be making sure there are jacking points and loose some of that underfloor space because I will insist on them supplying one with a jack and a wheel brace. If I am getting traction control with snow and mud tyres it means something.
    We love your reviews...noone can beat your little bit of Irish humour.

    Last week I came across this car while i was watching for something totally different. So i've made agreements and I'm picking up the 3008 tomorrow. I had the same experience as you did when seeing it, driving it, etc. Great review, it actually confirms what I have experienced. Also, I'm not as tall as you so the backseat won't be so cramped in my case ;-) thx for the info, thumbs up

    Bob thank you for a great review. I currently drive a C4 picasso. After doing all the research bit I have decided to go for the 3008. I agree with all your points and after getting a test drive and a look around the new "fly by wire" C4 and the 3008 in my view the 3008 comes out tops even though the C4 is a new revamped model,,, sorry Citreon. The 3008 euro model refesh has happened and the new model has been shown off at the Berlin 2013 motor show. I think most of the revamp is cosmetic.

    Can't wait to pick mine up tomorrow under the Motability scheme. So looking forward to driving/passenger in a car with all that comfort and technology! have a 206 at the moment, and whilst it's given us now trouble, is super low mileage for its age I have to practically fall into it and be pulled out of it, Looking forward to being able to get in and out comfortable! :)

    Word of warning re the panoramic glass room - they very frequently start to leak after 4-5 years old, giving you an 'internal shower' feature. My own 2016 Allure model developed an internal leak half way through 2020, and guess what? - leaks here are very(!) expensive to fix, needing the glass to be removed and a new seal installed, and unfortunately, there's a high risk of the glass breaking on removal (as mine did) - adding greatly to that expense. I also had the infamous Peugeot 'clutch whoop' issue - requiring a new clutch to be installed.
    Apart from that, nice car but I am never buying a Peugeot again, and will stay away from cars with glass roofs!

    Ease of access and space are why I bought this car as I have a whole prosthetic leg.
    It fouls the dash and is hard work in this cars big brother (C4 Picasso), yet this car is ade=ream to get into. No bending. Just sit and swing into acres of space.
    Cubby hole opening the wrong way and power socket on the wrong side?
    Not on the LHD 3008's, then it's all the right way round.
    If that's the most you can find to criticise you can imagine how perfect my French model is :)
    I s'pose they could fix these for the UK, but it would add to the cost.

    If a new 5008 comes out I'll certainly have a go in it, Peugeot Ireland currently don't have one.
    The gearbox you're on about is the same one that's in the 3008 Hybrid 4 which there's a review of on the channel. I think the gearbox is good once you don't spend your time flooring it, it can be a little jerky through the gears. If I was stuck in traffic I'd rather have an automatic box from the 80's than a manual!

    Nice review, cheers. Wondered what you thought of the leg room. I drive on the other side of the road (in France), and felt that the centre console rubbed against my right leg. I could only keep my leg straight as opposed to spreading them a bit. Its the ONLY thing that holds me back from buying this car (2.0L HDi 150HP Allure is what I'm after). Slightly worried about how long all that tech will last as well. I keep my cars for years.

    Bob, I would really appreciate if you could review the Peugeot 5008, specially the piloted gearbox and compare it to a regular automatic gearbox. I'm was about to get a 5008, but got a bit scared about comments on how the piloted gearbox is not that smooth. ¿Would it feel more like an mechanic transmission rather than an automatic one?...thanks.

    @1TomSawyer1 No, that rattle is coming from my old mic system which was attached to the camera. So where you see a little camera shake you'll hear the mic rattle too. I've since changed the mic so no rattle now.

    I did testdrive one before.. now it's a couple of years ago or so, but what hit me what that the automatic was so bad.. I think they've fixed it, but at that point the automatic gearbox was a dealbreaker for me and i went for a used bmw 520 (2010) instead :P

    Bob, great review.
    Very close to purchasing this model.
    1 question, I cannot seem to find the answer to is, will 2 rear facing car seats and 1 front facing car seat, all fit in the back?
    I know of the 2 ISO fix, but will it be too tight to fit the front facing car seat in the middle?
    I have a 5 year old and am expected twins.
    Keep up the good work.

    I had a test drive in a 2011 3008 and, as a 6ft 3" lump of a bloke, I loved it. I didn't expect to love it, but for comfort and the ride I think it's a superb car. I've ended up buying it and I pick it up on Thursday (can't bloody wait!). I do have to say the little cubby hole on the left of the driver is a pain though and spoils the car, as well as the power socket being on the right of the gear stick instead of the left.

    • @195ization
      @195ization 9 лет назад

      Michael Burke i'm looking to buy one. have you had any problems with it so far. i've read some reviews which in the majority where good but some did say horrible stuff about it. i mean it depends on the owner but how is yours ?

    • @burkezillar
      @burkezillar 9 лет назад +1

      195ization I've had mine a year this month, and it's done 20,000 miles (coming up to 50,000 all time on the odo tomorrow probably).
      The AUX port under the arm rest was broken when I bought it and Peugeot fixed it under warranty. The leather on the wheel has started to bubble and peel, but a friends 308 of the same year (2010/60 plate) has this issue too. And yesterday the rear passenger seat belt buckle broke.
      However, fuel economy is brilliant although the computer lies. I put £65 Diesel in it every 2 weeks and it will do about 550/600 miles in the one tank although I take my time driving it. It's really comfortable, drives brilliantly well. The air filter is a pain to change, same as the cabin filter, but if you bring it to a garage it's not your problem then.
      I'd buy one again.

    • @195ization
      @195ization 9 лет назад

      Michael Burke Thanks for your very informative reply. I had a 2012 peugeot partner tepee outdoor 115bhp 1.6 HDI. Basically they have the same engine but the partner only has a 5 speeed gearbox making it a little bit uncomfortable and loud/revvy if you reach 100mph/160kmh. But economy was brilliant just like you stated. the only thing that i didn't like was the interior trim was a bit cheap as it is a van-derived car. Anyways thanks for your reply you have encouraged me a lot into buying the 3008.
      THANKS !!

      195ization The interior of the 3008 is brilliant, it feels premium (even with the bubbly leather steering wheel). Whenever I had people in the car for the first time they were impressed with it. Enjoy it!

      If everything works (press every button) and the MOT is clean then you're in good shape. There's still nothing else with that flip down boot and space everywhere. It's a good car and that price seems fair. Pay for the history checks and be happy

    • @BobFlavinVideo
      @BobFlavinVideo  5 лет назад

      It depends on the car, the brand isn't reliable it's the car. If it's been looked after then there's no reason to suspect the car will get worse all of a sudden. As I say, pay for the checks to be done and have it inspected and all should be good.
