I just found this video and trying to implement some of what you have suggested. I have the same exact refrigerator but my freezer was already at zero so moving it to 2 degrees and hoping that might make a difference. Im not exactly sure why a hair dryer would make a difference. It's been a few years of battle with this exact fridge and not enough ice. The water that came into the dispensary was also fairly slow we just thought it was the frig. I went through everything on this video and still didn't solve my issue. I went into my crawlspace and noticed the supply line went from 3/4" to 1/4 to 1/2" back to 1/4". I am no master plumber but that didn't seem right to me. I replaced the entire pipe from the main 3/4" ran a 1/2" to an quarter turn ball valve PEX ice maker outlet box. The stream of water is at least 3 times faster now when filling up a glass of water and ice maker now has zero issues. CHECK YOUR SUPPLY LINES!!!!
How do you change the ice maker temperature, mines is high but only blinks. When I press the plus or minus sign it changes to other settings. How to change it?

Pressing water and crush buttons don't show the ice setting for me. I'm pressing on the light area at the same time, this is where the sensor is. Even tried water & cube, cube and crush...nothing works. Any idea? My fridge is producing too much ice. Want to lower the amount.

I just tried bringing the freezer temp from -1 to 0 and increasing the output as shown. Hopefully, this will help. I am also going to turn it off for a awhile too.
I’m going to assume that it’s frozen shut or that the ice in their has frozen together and could have possibly gotten higher then the tray. I would recommend to turn off the refrigerator and use a hair dryer heat the air up where it dispenses. Hopefully after a an hour or so enough will thaw out to where you can open it. Be careful to not melt or damage any of the plastic of the refrigerator.
I had the same problem with this fridge, no ice / intermittent ice. No water would come out on test 55, there was a noise but no water. Both cables that run to the ice machine just needed to been reseated. Reboot the fridge and it was working again.
There is another menu for that unit. One specific to the ice maker that tests all c omponemets and does a specific defrost for the ice maker evaporator. Hold up arrow and plus together and you're in ice mode. There is a schematic diagnostic menu on the bottom right side in plastic stuck on above the drain pan. Need a rong of needle nose to get it out. It will tell you all the test codes and what the numbers mean in diagnostic menu.
Thanks for sharing that, I will have to check it out sometime! Thanks for taking the time to comment and supporting my channel! With your help, we're almost at 1,000 subscribers! :)
I have this exact model refrigerator except it is made by Kenmore (model 253.7034341D). The Kenmore version of this refrigerator looks exactly like and has the exact same parts as the Frigidaire version. Kenmore refrigerators are made by either Whirlpool or Frigidaire as of when this refrigeratoer was made. I am having the same issue with my ice maker. There is a way to run the defrost mode just for the ice maker. I suggest to try using the Diagnostic Service Mode of this model refrigerator. To get to it press up arrow and down arrow at the same time and hold for about 10 seconds. Next get to test # 26 which is the Ice Maker Defrost Heater. To get to that test press the + button several times until 26 shows on the right side of the refrigerator display. The defrost cycle will then begin after about 5-10 seconds. The left side of the display will show the current temperature in the evaporator coil area. slowly it will heat up from 14 degrees to the 60-65 degree range. The defrost mode will complete in about 5-10 minutes. You might want to run it through several cycles. If you need to exit the Diagnostic Mode altogether hold the + for about 10 seconds and it will exit. It will exit from the diagnostic mode automatically in about 5 minutes if no other tests are selected to be run. The paper sheet with the diagnostic mode instructions and tests is located on the right bottom side of the refrigerator where the drain pan is located. The drain pan on this model refrigerator is not removable but if you remove the bottom kick plate by opening the lower freezer door and then lifting the kick plate upwards using a flashlight and looking underneath on the right side you will see the pouch holding the diagnostic sheet. Here is a link to the Diagnostic sheet that has the instructions of how to get to it as well as other tests and diagnostics that can be run: ibb.co/WHDgcpC If the included imgbb link pic is removed after some time do a Google search for: 'Service Data Sheet A06589001' and it will be on several web sites

Have you tried my second video that follows up after this one with the solution? Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/BoBnRVRF-rA/видео.html Just to make sure, is your ice maker doing a low amount of ice? Or none at all?
The temperature of the refrigerator it self actually effects it a good amount. Try changing the temperature to 38. Also make sure your freezer theme is at 0. Then monitor it, you should see that your able to get below 15f. I appreciate your support for my channel, we are so close to 1000 subscribers!

@@kristinakilby6798 2 + months and the refrigerator is working fine. Just today i had a little of frost build but I think someone left the door a little open.
My new Frigidaire doesn’t have the option to increase ice. It doesn’t matter what you press down, nothing comes up. No manual menu or anything. My ice input is terrible.
It was on 2 for a while. Putting it at 0 is what fixed it. Thanks for taking the time to comment and supporting my channel! With your help, we can reach 1,000 subscribers :)
We bought a new Frigidaire refrigerator in May 2023. The ice maker was making ice very slowly. Like 2 glasses full a day. So we needed ice. We bought a bag of ice and put 1/4 of it in the ice bin. A few hours later, it started making ice! A lot of ice!! So try this first before anything else!! Seems like it had a sensor that that activated the ice machine when some ice was put in the bin. Hope this works for many of you!
It has been on 2 for quite some time, but you don’t have to wait. I didn’t do that to thaw the ice maker or anything. It was just advice Frigidaire support gave that harmed instead of helped. If this video didn’t help try watching part 2: ruclips.net/video/BoBnRVRF-rA/видео.html
I had a similar problem where the ice maker was not cold enough. Ice was melting and no new ice being made. I turned off the ice maker and removed the bin for several days and then it started working. I think it wasn't get cold air to the compartment and something thawed out
Just bought a new Frigidaire refrigerator. The first 48 hours the ice maker products very little ice. Change temperature from minus 8 degrees to zero degrees and I had plenty of ice within 24 hours.
Are you pressing on the light above the words or the actual words them self? Try to maneuver your finger a bit around the area and make sure it’s at the same exact time.
Hmm, I bought a fridadaire side by side that i thought was a dent and ding but was a used/reconditioned one. The controls are on the side of the door and not the front. My thinking is the control panel went bad as it's a very shiny black while the sides are the no finger print type. No matter what I set the freeze, it's 14f. I replaced the water filter (which is a big scam) that took about a week to get here as I couldn't buy it locally. The line is clear and the valve is fully opened. My guess is it's the wrong front panel or the ice maker is working but not correctly or the correct one for this unit. As luck would have it, as soon as I got it, I got sick. The a-hole delivering it would have to scratch the hardwood floor. Not happy at this point.
I'm 78 yes old and I'm widow. For the 2years I've had the refrigerator it made tons of ice now it is so slow, i'm out. I have freezer at zero and frig at 37. I didn't understand your comment about a 2 setting. Mine is aside by side

@@CravingSolutions i turned it up to level 3 iv been gone all day so it should be full when get home around 11pm so lets see if the ice holds of not ill try the other tips
Have never explored the maintenance menu, thanks! Surprised that you keep the the fridge at 40°, that’s on the high side. We always keep ours at 34. Since the ice maker is in the fridge, not sure if a higher fridge temp affects the ice making & ice maker frost situation.
@@CravingSolutions it’s all the time lol I shut the ice maker off completely and I still hear it lol. Sounds like that’s where the noise is coming from. Lol. Thanks for answering me, trying to get the hubby to play around with it too. We’ll see!!
@@jamiekennisoncormier9293 that’s odd, wish I had some helpful advice on this. You have it off yet it’s still making noise. I would possibly recommend defrosting it, the steps are in my video. You can even try the blow dryer as well but just be careful to not melt anything. Perhaps if you do that something might start to work better..
One thing I have found is it has sort of a safety system built in in case of a power outage. We have had several outages due to weather a couple weeks in a row. It stopped making ice. My guess is that it goes into a hold mode and stops making ice till I turn the ice maker off then back on. I did that and an hr later it started working again. My power was off for 8 hrs at a time so it may have gone into a hold so the ice does’t melt and cause a puddle in the bottom of the freezer section. Just a thought.
I recently installed an RO system and my ice maker started making significantly less ice. It turns out, the water was going through the RO system filter and the fridge water filter system. I bought a Bypass filter off the Frigidaire website for my model and took out my fridge water filter and put the bypass filter in. The ice maker started making ice way faster and within a few days my bin was filled with ice. Just wanted to leave this comment here because I thought my ice maker was broken and tried a couple tips from this video and it didn’t work. Turns out I just needed to install a bypass filter the whole time. Hope this helps someone out there
Yes, also making your fridge it self be a little colder could help. Like taking it from the default 40 to 38. Hope this helps and really appreciate your support for my channel!
I have a Frigidaire also and it has been making ice but VERY SLOW. I tried everything, I mean EVERYTHING mentioned here and the 74 other videos and post and help desk I could find😫 but nothing was changed in the pace of ice making. So I decided I was just going to rip the stupid ice maker out just so I could make room in the TINY freezer for manual ice trays and i was pulling everything out and about to dismantle the ice maker and I noticed a very large crack on the inside wall of the freezer!!😑. Don’t kno how it happened and how long it’s been there but that was obviously my problem. The freezer was losing cold air thru that and so was not freezing the ice fast enough even though I had it set at its lowest temperature. But I really can’t wrap my head around how the crack happened. It’s only 5 years old and it’s just me and my boyfriend living here, no kids. So I don’t even store that much frozen food in it. Any ideas?
Oh no I had it on 2 for months, I was always having issues and when I did all I said things started to be much better. I did add a follow up idea showing that even brining down the temperature of the refrigerator helped a lot.
Frigidaire Gallery Refrigerator is absolutely cheap junk. Ice Maker has always been junk had repair out maybe 3 or 4 times in first yr. They never admitted its junk, always said well a hose is frozen or crimped. The inside frig is thin plastic shelving and 2 has snapped. I never ever broke anything in a frig in my life. Also if you drop something in the frig and it hits the bottom it will crack the plastic as well.Husband bought the oven to match and large front burner quit in about 14 months after warranty expired. These appliances are cheaply made I do not recommend them at all.

Have you tried my second video that follows up after this one with the solution? Here is the link:

Just to make sure, is your ice maker doing a low amount of ice? Or none at all?
Ice maker temp it’s at 15f, how do I lower it?
The temperature of the refrigerator it self actually effects it a good amount. Try changing the temperature to 38. Also make sure your freezer theme is at 0. Then monitor it, you should see that your able to get below 15f.
I appreciate your support for my channel, we are so close to 1000 subscribers!
My ice maker temp just said CL what does that mean it wasnt making any ice at also how will i be able to change the temp in the ice maker
WHAT IS THAT WHITE WIRE THING THAT DANGLES IN THE ICEMAKER AREA??
It’s been two years. How is it working now?
Ever since the date of posting this video, the issue has not popped up yet. Its as if it never happened to begin with! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!
@@CravingSolutionsNo problem, and ours did the same thing.
Good video. Thank you!
My pleasure! Thank you for taking the time to comment, it really helps motivate me to post more!
What about the bottom ice maker?
The tips/advice I gave should help with any refrigerator. Is your ice maker in the freezer drawer?
The water doesn't even come out on mine or ice it's been 3 days since
Check under your kitchen sink, perhaps someone accidentally closed the valve going to your refrigerator.
Thank you for the video.
I'm glad my video was able to help you! Thank you for leaving a comment, it really helps motivate me to post more!
I just got this fridge today and have been on since 2 pm and is 11 pm ! There is like 10 ice cubes in the tray … let see if i have luck.
I have a question. This fridge is loud right? Mine is making a weird noise non stop.
Ours isn't loud, I mean obviously you can hear it but it isn't loud. Something could have happened to yours upon shipping/delivery.
Did you have any issues after day one. We just had one delivered.
@@kristinakilby6798 I don’t believe I happened from day 1, but it seemed like a short period of time.
@@kristinakilby6798 2 + months and the refrigerator is working fine.
Just today i had a little of frost build but I think someone left the door a little open.
thanks, set freezer to 0 degrees.. works great!!
Great to hear! Thanks for commenting, and supporting my channel!
Are we talking Celsius or Fahrenheit for the 0 ?
Fahrenheit! Thanks for taking the time to ask that question!
My new Frigidaire doesn’t have the option to increase ice. It doesn’t matter what you press down, nothing comes up. No manual menu or anything. My ice input is terrible.
How long did you leave your freezer temperature at 2 before you changed it back to 0?
That's a great suggestion! Thanks for that, I hope it helps someone in the future! Thanks for taking the time to comment and supporting my channel!
How long did you have the temperature on 2 before moving it back to 0?
It has been on 2 for quite some time, but you don’t have to wait. I didn’t do that to thaw the ice maker or anything. It was just advice Frigidaire support gave that harmed instead of helped.
If this video didn’t help try watching part 2:

Of course! Glad this video helped! Thanks for leaving a comment!
I’m really glad this helped Kevin and appreciate your support for my channel!
Thank you so much! I have an older version of the Frigidaire professional series but I am going to try all of your suggestions!!
Hopefully all/ has gone well! Thank you for commenting!
Tried the option to increase ice output, mine was on the lowest so now it’s on the highest and I’ll let you know.
How did it go?
So when I hold down water and crush it doesn’t come up with the settings of ice :(
Are you pressing on the light above the words or the actual words them self? Try to maneuver your finger a bit around the area and make sure it’s at the same exact time.
We have a more basic model ice maker and it makes ice so slowly 😅😢
Just checked mine and it was at the lowest setting. I set it to 3 and will find out if my production increases.
I'd like to follow up and see if it is working now? Thanks for taking the time to comment! :)
My water pump to the fridge doesn't run anymore how it used to..
Thanks for taking the time to comment! Could you possibly elaborate that a bit more?
Love your video sorry for late reply. I come back here every other month to fix my issue. Thanks bro
Have my temp at -1 I’ll raise the temp to see😊 if my ice maker works 🙏🏽 thanks
I'll give it a try
I'd love to hear how it goes! I hope it works out for you. Thanks for taking the time to comment and supporting my channel!
I'm 78 yes old and I'm widow. For the 2years I've had the refrigerator it made tons of ice now it is so slow, i'm out. I have freezer at zero and frig at 37. I didn't understand your comment about a 2 setting. Mine is aside by side
Very helpful !!!!!!! Thanks

Thanks for that! I probably should have put that in the video. I'll be sure to do this in the future! Thanks for taking the time to comment and supporting my channel!
we had this fringe for 3 years its been working just fine now its making basically nothing
Hi, has my tips helped you at all? If your not able to get ice still try watching my part 2 to this:

@@CravingSolutions i turned it up to level 3 iv been gone all day so it should be full when get home around 11pm so lets see if the ice holds of not ill try the other tips
How do I lower the temperature in the ice maker? Mine is set to 0 and makes ice very slowly.
Try lowering the temperature of the fridge if the ice maker isn't getting any cooler with the freezer temperature being lowered.
Is there a list of what all the diagnostic menus are? How did you discover that 26 is the icemaker temp?
Thanks!
You're welcome! Thanks for taking the time to comment, it really helps motivate me to post more!
Have never explored the maintenance menu, thanks! Surprised that you keep the the fridge at 40°, that’s on the high side. We always keep ours at 34. Since the ice maker is in the fridge, not sure if a higher fridge temp affects the ice making & ice maker frost situation.
Did yours ever make a clicking type sound? That’s what mine is doing, plus not making any ice. Thanks!
No I don’t believe mine did… Is the noise when you try to get ice or like all the time?
@@CravingSolutions we sure gonna try!! Thank you so much for replying!!!
@@jamiekennisoncormier9293 good luck!
Glad you got it working again, hope my video was a little help at least.

most ice maker have a temperature sensor that prevents it from cycling if it is not cold enough, it may be low on freon charge or dirty coils
I thankfully didn’t need to do any of that, but your right that could be other issues.
Can you just please get to the solution
There are kits and other things that need to be fixed before those units really work
For some people yes… were you able to get yours working?
Thanks for the video. I have the same frig. Is your ice maker still working good after you did this?
Yes it has been working better since :)
Hope this helps someone out there
Yes, from what I’ve understood, it Hass to be on zero or below to make ice.
Any ideas?
Try getting some heavy duty rubber patching tape to put over the crack. And then put some metal duct tape over it. Should hold the cold in
When I go to 26 it says cl?
When you went into maintenance mode, did you try going up or down with the arrows?
Same, I don't know what that stands for
Tysm
Your very welcome, thank you for supporting my channel.
So they put your freezer on 2 degrees for a couple days and then when you moved it back to 0 it fixed the problem? Trying to make sure I understand
Oh no I had it on 2 for months, I was always having issues and when I did all I said things started to be much better. I did add a follow up idea showing that even brining down the temperature of the refrigerator helped a lot.
Water line in the fridge is freezing and not letting water through
@@ShortArmStrongArm which steps have you taken to unfreeze it? Also did you try reaching in all the way to the tray to see if it had water/ice?
Now you tell me😂
