I've watched Ben give impassioned speechs against anti semitism and found it very moving yet he has all that compassion for Jewish people but none for Palestinians, unbelievable.
Exactly! I remember Ben's speech after Kanye went on his antisemitic rant. Ben cried over Kanye's word, but he champions bombing kids. Ben is a phony and shouldn't be taken seriously.
Bro, I know, did you look at that Kanye West video? Yet It's insane how little some people give a damn about these people dying, now even on TYT. It's messed up bro ...
Ben stated that Palestinians are "voluntarily deporting" which means there is no displacement. By his own logic, Jews who had to leave their homes in Eastern Europe and Germany during WWII were definitely not displaced. Make it make sense. How do you have Nazi talking points in 2024?
@@ScottJB yeah cenk gets animated but he turns away faces the camera, been is always facing cenk, with his hands up moving in on him, while yelling. Look at the body language.
Yeah. As I discovered the leftwing/progressive sphere on RUclips during the pandemic Cenk and Ana (and Destiny) were the people that I just could not stomach. Thank god I found Sam Seder and others. But I’ve been appreciating Cenk’s aggressive pushback since Oct. 7.

I've seen Ben on TYT for years and I have disagreed with him often but I always thought he was a decent guy. Watching his apologetics for what is at a minimum ethnic cleansing and what is almost certainly genocide is disgusting. Ben really is one of those people that views a persons value as their proximity to himself.
Ben has been unhinged since October 7th. I tried to give him some grace in the beginning. But for him to still defend Israel given everything we've seen over the past few months is inexcusable.
Yeah, I used to enjoy when Ben was on, but after he hosted the show after Oct 7, I couldn’t believe my ears. Now, I just stop watching when he’s on. I didn’t see this incident live, because I turned it off at the time.
Ben saying “not one person has been displaced from Gaza” would be like making 95% of American citizens move to Rhode Island and then saying “we haven’t kicked a single person out of America” It’s such a b.s argument.
We don’t don’t even have to do hypotheticals, just take from history. According to this lunatic’s logic, not a single Jew has been displaced during the Holocaust.
@masterchief9291 Hmm. If a murderer buries their victim in the basement of their own home, and then says, 'I didn't take them out of their house', it's also, "Still accurate". It's ALSO utterly irrelevant...
The Israeli Jewish guy went on a trip to Israel during this insanity and came back defending them twice as hard. That’s genuinely just so shocking. There’s no way they treated him especially well to sell a narrative knowing that he’s a left wing media pundit. For the record I’m ashkanazi Jew and can’t imagine defending Israel at this point. Ben is coming off like a jackass.
regardless of any of their positions, that channel is garbage and the world would be better off without hearing cenk and anas opinions about everything. TYT is the fox news of the left with slightly more factuality, based on grievance and emotional appeal. Disregarding anything they have to say about this conflict, which is nothing that other people who yell less and are less arrogant can admit without needing their specific voices. He's probably getting that sweet sweet Zionist money. His stay in Israel was probably 5 star stay. I'm sure he was getting free massages, and going out partying complaining how "under attack" they are, when fucking Gaza looks like a fucking moon crater! Fucking unreal
Ben definitely drank the IDF propaganda. This is what happens when people aren't trained to see institutional bias or learn about the historical facts. He is also too old to have the naturally jaded view of governments that young folks have. (Which is not always great since young folks are more susceptible to conspiracies because of it). And to be fair, Cenk is one of the worst debaters for someone so deep in the kool-aid. Ben literally believes every single strike is justified. You'd need someone who knows all the facts and can debunk them in a calm manner. Cenk is better suited to argue against Grifters who don't actually believe anything. Cenk's ability to scoff at his opponent and talk over them is great for people who don't believe anything and run away from the facts...but not so much against people who have a lot to lose in defending their beliefs.
The congnitive dissonance with resistance liberal zionists is crazy. The hate Trump with a passion but align themselves with him and Trump like figures in Israel 100% when it comes to murdering Palestinians.
As an American Jew myself, and as someone who liked Ben as a tyt contributor, it’s terrible how blind he is to the suffering that the Palestinian people are going through
I don't think he is blind to their suffering. His point is that this is not a calculated mission by Israel to wipe out Palestinians, as fools like Cenk seem to promote. Every war sees numerous casualties and it is always the innocent that suffer.
You can watch the video by Vice where they go into the tunnels and one of them admits that they're using them as human shields and says Palestinians are happy to martyr themselves. They admit it and you still deny it.
I am not Jewish myself but certainly support the Israeli people and I like Ben but I definitely agree with you on this. The Israeli government has gone way too far in their response to the terrorist attack. Criticizing the Israeli government is not the same as criticizing the Israeli people or saying that Israel doesn't have the right to defend itself. I criticized the US government for invading Iraq when they had nothing to do with 9/11 and the lies being told by the Bush Administration. The US has a right to defend itself but that doesn't mean that we have the right to invade a sovereign country for made up reasons and pretend that it had to do with a terrorist attack here. Again, I like Ben but I hope he learns to divorce himself from his feelings on this topic and understand that what the Israeli government is doing is wrong.
Ben is truly embracing the villain role. He's cornered. He knows he's wrong, but he's already staked his claim and he's too much a coward to admit he was wrong. So now he is devolving into a true piece of trash. I pray and hope he gets serious help.
@@Philosophisticated I'm not going to split hairs over displacement, my point is that when people say displacement they mean out of the land entirely, IE into the sina in this case. Which Ben is going it didn't happen, but only because Egypt won't let them in, so it's not really a meaningful point from Ben.
I can see Ben and TYT parting ways in the coming months. Ben is getting way too emotional and hes letting this get to him way too much. I have no problem with what Cenk stated on regards on this tragic situation between Israel and the Palestinians, he's right, but I can tell Ben's trip to Israel has really F'd his head up completely and clouded his rarionale. Both sides in Isreal and Hamas are bad but Isreal is committing complete war crimes in the midst of self defence, it's ashame that Ben can't see that or refuses to.
His family heritage has a big part to play about this. But still, I highly agree, there's no excuse for some of the things that he's said here. Did you see his response to Kanye West on Alex Jones' show (the one when he was wearing a gimp mask or something)
Cenk definitely has temper problems. Cenk is regularly on the right side of an issue, but is unable to calmly explain his position and comes across as an angry shouting ideologue. I just think I expect better from him, he isn't new in this business and being an effective communicator is part of his job description.
@@Ockerlord At least he’s on the correct factual side of the issue. How he says it is subjective, he makes his positions clear enough. Like you said “he isn’t new to the business” and has successfully operated an independent network for over 20 years, I think he’s just fine.
Yeah I don't really care for the whole blowing up and screaming from Cenk, to me it is a hindrance to his arguments. However I do agree with much of his position on the Israel/Palestine issue
ALSO: how is it a "hunt for Hamas" to bulldoze cemeteries in Gaza and leave bodies lying around? Are Hamas building tunnels underneath graveyards now? pfft
Yeah I've been on Tiktok Lives with Israelis/Israelis supporters and they are impossible to reason with and they show very little empathy for others. Many of them pass off the suffering of children as being their parents' fault so they couldn't care less.

To be honest, Ben should be debating someone like Sam Seder, who knows more facts and is also Jewish. Cenk is just wayyy too bombastic to have a nuanced discussion with, especially with someone sooo steeped in IDF propaganda.

Time to go Ben.
Tell me if I’m wrong, but isn’t claiming that it’s absurd to call what Israel is doing a genocide while then saying the phrase “genocidal Hamas” just the pot calling the kettle black? To deny a legal claim of genocide only to assert your less founded claim of genocide? It’s just unimpressive
The cherry on the cake is Netanyahu saying "from the river to the sea". Where's the US senate passing a resolution condemning Netanyahu like they did with universities?
its actually understandable if you are particularly susceptible to political speak. For Ben, calling for a genocide while being unable to commit one but "seemingly" trying to (HAMAS) is more of a genocide than a country who has never directly called for a genocide who is currently bombing every opposing city. In order to prove Israel is commuting a genocide you would need to talk about every datapoint which numerically proves its a genocide. You could try to convince him that Israel's strikes are indiscriminate but that would require a ton of knowledge and a counter to every IDF statistic he has memorized (Cenk actually let a few statistical lies slip since he doesn't memorize these things) Not to mention he is so steeped in IDF propaganda that even if you did give evidence he would have too check the evidence for himself. Its like trying to convince a conservative, but in liberal flavor. This is the power of propaganda. And Netenyahu has been setting up the brainwashing for decades.
People call Hamas genocidal because until 2017 they had the annihilation of the Jews as a point in their charter. They had official genocidal intent, regardless of capability, until 7 years ago.
Yuck. 1. It's not a genocide. 1:04 - Well, it is. This isn't up for debate. Israel has clearly displayed ticking the boxes of Article 2 in the Convention on the Crime and Punishment of Genocide. The case before the ICJ is an application for an order of provisional injunction. In practice, this means that even if the ICJ were to rule in favor of South Africa, one cannot on that basis alone say that the ICJ found Israel guilty of genocide. Only that it is more likely than not that Israel is either committing, or is at risk of committing genocide. Part of the conventions purpose is to enable the ICJ to stop situations PRIOR to becoming genocides. 2. It's Israel defending itself 1:15 - The United Nations has, on multiple occasions, concluded that both the West Bank and Gaza are under belligerent military occupation. This is despite the Israeli attempt to negate the charge of occupying Gaza by in removing its troops and instead applying Land, Sea & Air blockades. Despite this measure, legal scholars and rapporteurs still conclude Gaza to be under military occupation. Under international law an occupying military power has no right of self defense from violence emerging from territories it occupies. The South African legal team did a brilliant job of cementing this fact at the ICJ, and the Israeli legal team did not address it sufficiently. 3. Oh woe is me, the Palestinians won't just lay down and die 1:20 - Interesting that when Palestinians resist the drastically increased level of settler violence and IDF incursions, it is framed as 'terrorism'. I am simply not convinced. The reason I am not convinced is that I do not know what meaningful difference there is between the violence Israel visits on Palestinian civilians vs the violence Hamas visits on Israeli civilians; stacking up the numbers, it seems like the IDF does far more 'terrorism'. As for the rockets, they are economic warfare. Hamas bottle rocket = ~$800 per pop. Iron Dome Missles = ~$20,000-$100,000 per pop. 4. Accusation in the Mirror gEnOcIdAl HaMaS 1:45 - Genocide requires intention and capacity. Israel and the IDF have both. Explicitly expressed and implicitly inferred intent, as well as the capacity to conduct genocide. Let's assume for a moment that Hamas had not revised their charter in 2017, and that they still intended the destruction of jews as such. Hamas still does not have the capacity to conduct a genocide against Israelis. This is clearly evident, since Hamas must resort to guerrilla warfare tactics. 5. Well documented difficult and unique situation 1:51 - No. Not really. Across multiple reports from independent factfinders and organizations, Hamas has never been found to use human shields. However, the IDF has been found to use human shields on many occasions. From coercing Palestinians to act as literal shields to coercing young Palestinians to sweep building for booby traps and move or open suspicious items for fear of explosives. Now, I will admit, I firmly believed this blood libel against the Palestinians for decades. It seems my sources were the word of Israeli officials, pundits and the popular media which Israel influences greatly. I wouldn't call that "well documented." However, is the situation unique? Not really counter insurgencies and tunnel warfare have been around for a long time. A more realistic interpretation of the unfolding events is that the Israeli government opportunistically decided that October 7th provided them an excuse to accelerate the slow-genocide into a rapid one; sort of like a final solution to the Palestinian issue. 6. The only democracy in the Middle East 2:29 - Is it really? I mean, it depends on your definition of democracy. But this notion that being a "democracy" somehow bestows moral superiority is weird. Wasn't the USA considered a democratic country during Jim Crow? How about pre-suffrage? Just strange. 7. Israel does all these awesome things that no other country does 4:50 - Yeah. Manufacturing a paper trail as plausible deniability for committing a genocide. Also 2.5 civilians killed per Hamas member killed. I am going to guess that this is the ratio you get if you consider every male Palestinian between 12-99 years of age to be a fighting member of the Al-Qassam Brigade. 8. Sigh... might have to continue later. I'm not even 5 minutes into this shit.
Kyle, I'm a subscriber of both TYT and Secular Talk. I'm so glad you did a segment on this argument between Jenk and Ben, I watched it LIVE and I could not believe the crazy things that came out of Ben's mouth. There is no defending Israel at this point, facts are facts.

Ben looks like he is on drugs or something. His eyes have no soul. I cant believe what is coming out of his mouth. He is either morally bankrupt or paid to stand for Israel. I mean he went to Israel for what?
Is Hamas is hiding among Palestinian civilians? Yes Did the French resistance hide among Parisians? Yes Did anyone ever accuse the French resistance of using human shields? I'm guessing no. Why? Because it's ludicrous. So why does everyone eat this nonsense up about human shields? Hamas is hiding where they can find shelter just like the Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto. The Nazis said those Jews were human animals. History repeats itself.
I’m stunned how so many people mindlessly support Israel committing genocide due to that damned Bible. Republicans have called for the extermination of Palestinians. Republican christians see ‘Israel’ in the Bible and think they are actually a ‘god’s’’chosen people’. That’s insane but they believe Israel can murder people whenever they want just like they murdered countless people in the Bible. That sick book is the source of so many deaths, oppression and division.
Everyone has their own number but I've read 28,000 Palestinians are dead at around a 92% civilian casualty rate. So 28,000 - 92% is 2,240. As Kyle mentioned Hamas has at least 30,000 members and 2,240 is 7.46% of 30,000. So they've killed roughly 7.5% of Hamas at a cost of well over 2 billion dollars. So why doesn't Israel change tactics? Because defeating Hamas is not their primary goal...
He gave up the game when he said he was in Israel for ten days. They trained him in all his talking points and then paid him to come back to the U.S. and spread them on his platform. They've done this with tons of influencers and celebrities.

Well actually, not every person in North Korea is starving. Because the American government loves to give false narratives about countries they don't like. I mean, United States doesn't mention how the government of India is starving, enslaving and killing the poorest of the poor people in India because in Hindu religion they are considered untouchables. Yet it is considered world's largest democracy by the United States. Lots of people in America are homeless and also are starving every single day. The American government doesn't like showing how they starve their own people and it is also considered a democracy. Hypocrisy at its best!
@@bahaar2825 Well actually the person you are responding to never said every person in North Korea is starving, and why would they? That would be absurd to say. The late 90’s famine in North Korea is estimated anywhere between a few hundred thousand and over a couple of million. This is out of about 22 million people. At the lowest end of the estimates, this would be as if almost 4 million people in the US died from starvation during a famine. If we go with the upper estimates of the death toll, it would be as if close to 30 million people in the US starved to death. During a single famine. Even today, about 40% of North Koreans are estimated to eat less than their minimum caloric requirements, and at no point since the famine has that estimate dipped below 30%. This does not justify starvation in either the US or India, or anywhere, but starvation and undernourishment is just on a different level in North Korea, and has been for a long time.
@@fordhouse8b Did you ever go to India and see how people are starving. They look like skin and bones. Answer that question and you’ve figured out who has the moral high ground. Even if it’s only a millimetre higher.
The way I look at it too is that Israel wouldn’t exist if Hamas had the weapons that Israel has and Israel was using theirs. So I guess now Israel will make sure that Palestine doesn’t exist

There's a great post-9/11 essay by Jacques Derrida were he thoroughly critiques both the discourse of "terrorism" as well as its legal conceptualization and application, especially given the fundamental significance of "terror" as the cornerstone of sovereignty (both Hobbes and Schmitt considered "terror" to be the most fundamental and properly political sentiment). It was written over twenty years ago, but everything he argues there still has relevance for today. It's called "Autoimmunity: Real and Symbolic Suicides" if you're interested.

Ben is very funny and prior to this last round of Israeli aggression I really enjoyed watching him. But he eats up whatever sh!t Israel says, without any critical thinking, and I just can't handle it.
I actually started watched his special and then found it so boring I stopped. I felt bad because I really wanted to support left wing comedians, and the channel too but there was always something about Ben that I couldn’t really click with. Had I known he was I Zionist I never would have bothered
Ben calls missiles being fired into Israel while he was there "terrorist attacks" but then labels missiles fired by Israel into Gaza "self defense". Make it make sense.
This is not all that surprising to me (Ben, despite being progressive on domestic issues, is Zionist) as I just had a fellow member of my Dem Town Committee quit over the majority of us wanting to take the "Ceasefire Now" position. we are a generally progressive organization, but WOW did things get tense at the last meeting over EXACTLY this. We ended up with a tense (but relatively tame) debate/argument between two Jewish members, one zionist-leaning, and the other, Pro-Palestine. oof. Then the Zionist quit... IDK what's so hard to understand what is actually going on.
Ben is one sided. He sees only what some israelis sustained and completely ignore what the tens of thousands of palestinians sustained now of for the past 80 years...
Watching this in the UK and Cenk is brilliant. Love how gets all red and animated yet still coherently makes his point. The other guy Ben we would call a 'brainwashed bellend'
TYT *should* be hosting opposing views, and they *should* be challenging them on the spot. I think beyond the emotional outbursts that TYT is doing a good job by bringing Ben on. It shows the derangement normally liberal people can have on this issue.
@@AgxntAqua I agree. Shutting down Ben, while cathartic, isn't productive at all. We need to figure out why he thinks what he does and hopefully at some point, he can change his mind.
You know, after seeing the video thumbnail, I was actually wondering if Kyle was going to choose to cover this, both as a story in and of itself, and due to the fact that it got so heated. Cenk has a point of airing policy disagreements for creating political content, but some of these conversations between Ben Gleib and Cenk have been utterly EXPLOSIVE as of late, it's insane that they're not only just even on the same platform together, but that they're arguing like this across the same desk ... Bro, this went on for ~28 minutes ... ! I mean, look at the thumbnail THEY THEMSELVES used for the video ... !
They made a huge deal about "from the river to the sea" on students saying it, firing people over it and banned. Netanyahu and israel officials have been saying it along with statements that reinforce their genocidal intent and what.... oh no he didnt mean that, thats all they say?? Ben is out of it.., he lets his religious belief get tne best of him and toss his morals
I've commented under that video and say it again over here. As a Turkish person, I get it when its hard to recognise the truth that your own people commited gen*cide. It took me years to fully realise what happened over 100 years ago in my ancestral country. I also get it when you can't openly speak about it for fear of being rejected by your own people or get threats etc. But unlike the Armenian, Assyrian, Chaldean or Pontic Greek gen*cides, we see whats happening in real time, LITERALLY! Either through videos from Gaza or by Isr*ali soldiers who proudly show their atrocities while performing bizarre TikTok challenges/dances in order to mock and humiliate their victims. I also think they should fire him. His very presence is an insult to all of us who have eyes, ears and compassion for those suffering in Palestine. Especially Muslims around the world and most of all (I hope I can speak for them) for Palestinians who are losing family or being t*rtured by the "most moral military in the world." I very much doubt they'd let someone who denies the Holocaust work with Ben or a Turkish nationalist who denies the Armenian gen*cide who would sit next to Ana day after day. Just get rid of that guy....
What genocide..?what actually happened 100 yrs ago?..did Armenians were in concentration camps?did they systematically butchered?.,,they become puppets of Russians French British and attacked their own people right in ww1 ,,then deported ,,no comparable
This isn’t the first time. There are 3 or 4 other segments where Ben and Cenk scream at each other on this issue. Ben is usually pretty good albeit a liberal, not a leftist. But on this issue he’s HORRENDOUS.
@iamjanedoe4real It affects him personally. It's harder to care about the others side when you have family constantly in danger one side. It's the same with cenk. He gets more animated on this because they are Muslim.
@gaeron1305 which is why, sure, it makes for good TV. But it's just a screaming match. And unfortunately for Ben, he's just WRONG. I have no family, on either side, and it's just CLEAR AS DAY that Israel is doing ethnic cleansing. The "response" is Not proportional
Let's assume Ben's numbers are correct for argument's sake. In what universe is 2.5 civilians per Hamas terrorist killed okay? If he's cool with that number then that's some monster talk right there.
He totally pulled that out of thin air. Hms killed 1200 people on Oct 7 and 34 of those were children. Israel has now already killed 10.000 children in Gaza
This is a privileged comment. I’m not defending Israel but civilian collateral is always prevalent. When fighting for life or death, it may make you cringe, but nobody is stopping me until you do. That means that 2, 3, 5, 10 to 1 are justifiable to me because of self preservation. I am not Jewish myself but certainly support the Israeli people and I like Ben but I definitely agree with you on this. The Israeli government has gone way too far in their response to the terrorist attack. I criticized the US government for invading Iraq when they had nothing to do with 9/11 and the lies being told by the Bush Administration.
People call Hamas genocidal because until 2017 they had the annihilation of the Jews as a point in their charter.
They had official genocidal intent, regardless of capability, until 7 years ago.
Yuck.
1. It's not a genocide. 1:04
- Well, it is.
2. It's Israel defending itself 1:15
- The United Nations has, on multiple occasions, concluded that both the West Bank and Gaza are under belligerent military occupation.
3. Oh woe is me, the Palestinians won't just lay down and die 1:20
- Interesting that when Palestinians resist the drastically increased level of settler violence and IDF incursions, it is framed as 'terrorism'.
4. Accusation in the Mirror gEnOcIdAl HaMaS 1:45
- Genocide requires intention and capacity.
5. Well documented difficult and unique situation 1:51
- No.
6. The only democracy in the Middle East 2:29
- Is it really? I mean, it depends on your definition of democracy. But this notion that being a "democracy" somehow bestows moral superiority is weird. Wasn't the USA considered a democratic country during Jim Crow? How about pre-suffrage? Just strange.
7. Israel does all these awesome things that no other country does 4:50
- Yeah.

Did the French resistance hide among Parisians? Yes
Did anyone ever accuse the French resistance of using human shields? I'm guessing no. Why? Because it's ludicrous.

Hamas is hiding where they can find shelter just like the Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto. The Nazis said those Jews were human animals.

Everyone has their own number but I've read 28,000 Palestinians are dead at around a 92% civilian casualty rate.

Ben and others like him who go to Israel and discover how evil Hamas is for themselves is sort of like Dennis Rodman coming back from a visit with Kim Jong and talking about how North Korea isn't that bad and people aren't starving. COME ON BEN
And yes the Indian government is starving their poorest citizens in order to have a control over them. I have yet to see skin and bones starving people in North Korea. They maybe eating less but nothing like the poorest starving people in India. United States does not want to acknowledge this at all. But they would rather pick on North Korea because United States is jealous of North Korea and that is a fact.

In an ideal world, it would be a safe haven for Jews but also a safe haven for any religious or ethnic group without giving primacy or even primus inter pares to any specific group.
Except the Jews have been so persecuted and bullied and pushed around that if any group of people deserve a safe state it would be the Israelis.

When I was a kid in the ‘90s, I grew up hearing, “One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.” That sense of nuance has completely left public discourse post-9/11. Let’s be straight about it - _everyone_ is using terrorist tactics. What we need to consider is which side is being oppressed, and which side is doing the oppressing.
